    Our vacation was very disappointing and became more work than a vacation. We checked into our unit on Saturday at 4 pm and the problems at our rental began on Sunday evening. We experienced a leak in the kitchen which stemmed from the bunk room bathroom shower. The management company did send maintenance that evening. He was unable to fix the problem and we were advised a plumber needed to come. At this point that shower became unusable. Monday - we had to reach out to the property manager for an update. We did not receive any information until 1:44 pm and at that time we were told that there were no plumbers available that day. At 4 pm we received another call from the property manager that a plumber would arrive the next day and they did not have an ETA. The shower was unable to be used. Tuesday - the property manager did not provide a time for the plumber. We went to the beach and arrived back at our unit to find the plumber cutting the ceiling in the wrong location. He cut the ceiling over the sink. Drywall dust was all over our medications, the coffee maker and our dry goods that were on the counter. We advised him that he cut the wrong spot. He then cut out the ceiling in the correct location. We decided to leave and go to the pool. We arrived back an hour or so later to 2 holes in the kitchen ceiling and even more drywall dust that we had to clean up! We also received no information on if we could use the bathroom again. Once again we had to message the property manager who advised via text the bathroom was usable. Wednesday afternoon - the kitchen begins leaking again as the shower was being used in the bunk room. It was pouring out of one of the lights and the previously cut hole. Again we had to spend time putting out bowls, towels etc as well as having to provide photos and videos to the property manager. The plumber came that evening. He was once again unable to fix the problem and advised us he needed to come back. It was 10 pm. Thursday - we advised the property manager that we would just rather not have access to the shower as we only had 2 more days left and did not want to deal with any more issues with the leak or plumbers. We had already experienced issues and disturbances 4 out of 7 days. This was not a relaxing vacation. It caused a lot of work/follow ups and cleaning on our end. Additionally, we also had cockroach droppings on plates in our kitchen cabinet and a dead cockroach in the kitchen. We experienced this with you guys in 2023 as well, on a much larger level. The back patio was also unusable. The table was flaking and rusted. It had rough edges making it an impossible surface to sit at as well as you couldn't sit around it and eat a meal.The cushions for the chairs were stained. The grill had a hole in the bottom and the shelf is about to fall off. When we arrived home, we emailed the company with the details of our trip. The guest services manager, Megan asked to give them a call and I advised we would only discuss things in writing. She asked what amount we had in mind for compensation for our trip, I responded that we would like our first deposit back. They responded with a $680.61 amount which was way less than our first deposit. We foolishly paid over $3K for this property. I responded and told them the amount they offered to pay was unacceptable and after that Vacation Haven proceeded to ignore our emails and text messages.

    Recently, we rented through My Vacation Haven, Miramar Beach, FL. Our unit smelled like fish, and the dryer didn't work. Additionally, the unit had broken doors and spots on furniture. I spoke with 6 different people at My Vacation Haven, including a supervisor named Michelle. None of the representatives apologized for the inconvenience with the exception of the last customer service agent I spoke to, named Regent. In fact, one of the customer service reps suggested I go to the laundromat. I used to live in Destin and have rented many times. I will not go through them again. Not only was the unit not up to par, the staff also missed the mark. We ended our vacation a day early (which never happens at the beach:) After "talking it over as a team," they finally decided they would refund us for the unused night. Things happen. It's how we respond to these things that matter. My Vacation Haven says they "treat guests as family," and "manage your home like we would our home." Based on our experience, we don't want to be in that family. Thankful for Regent, our last customer service rep, who actually apologized and did what she said she would do.

    We rented 43 Patina Blvd from 7/9-7/12 and it was VERY disappointing with the cleanliness. We asked to see if we could check in before 4:00 CST but were denied because they needed time to do their "high standards" cleaning . I was happy to hear that because having a clean place for my family is a big concern for me. Well, we got there at 2:00, looked in the house and saw trash, towels, etc all over the floor. We figured the cleaning crews were cleaning so we left to go to the beach. We came back at 4:00 and the cleaning crews showed up at 4:10 CST!!! They were done cleaning by 4:30 and left. 3 people cleaned the whole house in 20 mins!!! When I went to check, there were hairs in every bed. Dirty dishes in the cabinet. A dead bug in the bedsheet and on the window. I posted a few pictures so you can think twice before booking.

    Rented a house in Destin through My Vacation Haven for Thanksgiving week. Ended up with a moldy washer machine, cockroaches, and a fridge and ice maker that needed filters and to be serviced. Customer service was abysmal, and failed to respond in a timely fashion. Ended up at a local laundromat the day before Thanksgiving so the family would have clean clothes. Had to call repeatedly for someone to deliver clean towels since washer was not useable. Saw cockroaches every day. Tried to speak with management about a refund after our trip, and seemed like they were reading from a script with canned responses. Ended up getting around only 10% of our total cost back. If you are looking to take a family trip and end up with a lot of headaches and time wasted on the phone, book your trip today. Not recommended!

    This place was horrible. The floors were disgusting, the golf cart only worked half the time, the window sills had rotting wood with huge holes, the dryer didn't have a hose attachment to the release, so when we used the dryer, the upstairs got up to near 90 degrees, which was horrible with a toddler that needed to nap. Everytime it rained the downstairs living room would get a huge puddle from the rain hitting against the back door. It suck's to spend over 3 grand on a place for your family to enjoy a nice get away and you end up at a place like this. They refunded me 125 though which was another slap in the face. A company that doesn't want to give you any of your money back even though we had all those issues. That was our first vacations with our daughter and that's what we had to deal with. Drying floors with our towels from it puddling everytime it rained. I don't understand how company's like this can feel good about doing this stuff to people. You care so much about profit and money that greed takes over and you screw people over like this. I hope you guys sleep better at night knowing you destroyed another family's vacation and thanks for the 125 dollar refund out of over the 3 grand I paid. That was so generous of you guys.

    Very nice stay in Destin over Christmas. Stayed at 4468 Ocean View. Home was clean and in great condition, and very close to the beach.

    Great townhouse! We stayed at #611 bayou Village in Baytown. It was nice and clean! My vacation haven was easy and great to work with!

The bathroom light NEVER worked! I can't believe you would actually try to say someone came. We will never use you again and will definitely NOT recommend anyone else use you. Especially if you're going to lie. And the bugs.....they were alive and tons, I mean TO S under the couch and beds! That place had not been cleaned if forever! Toenail trimmings on the rug so bad you wouldn't even want to walk on it. Dirty rugs! Felt like they had a gummy film on them. You have a 2.5 rating....did you go and lie about all the others bad reviews too? And I didn't even mention the grill outside....covered in nasty gunk that's been on there forever and not cleaned because it was there the first time which was over 4 years ago. We didn't use it then because it was disgusting and this time too! You need a new cleaning crew and you need to stop lying!

    My husband and I stayed with Five Star Properties twice last summer. The views in both places - a…read morehome and a condo - were breath taking. Both rentals also had pool access, the home a private, heated pool that we greatly enjoyed. In addition to the properties though, the staff was excellent! We had trouble finding the first location because our gps was down and customer service guided us over the phone to the property. We also had a complementary fresh sweet bread and bottled waters left for us during our second stay. I highly recommend a stay with Five Star Beach Properties - they make the booking process (over the phone or via their user friendly website) easy, the properties are one of a kind with state of the art amenities and great views, and the customer service is fantastic.

We booked our rentals in Feb and got an email at the end of April that they canceled our reservations. If we wanted something else we would have to pay 6000.00 more. I explained this trip was for our dad's 80th bday and flights have already been purchased and they did not care. We are stuck with no vacation and 20+ people who have paid for flights and when I asked to speak to a manager and a copy of my agreement I heard nothing. Please do not rent from this property. I guess this company really is all about ruining your vacation plans.

We use the hide a bed and have returned every year with our sons and their friends. Outside from sun rise to sunset you have the most remarkable views. Great restaurants are footsteps away. The beach is just across the street and visible from every back deck. A diving reef and activity (walking, biking, roller blading) trail just outside your sliding glass door. Yep we will return again, again and again.

    Blue Surf Unit #2: Reservation: Always easy with VRBO…read more(simply pick your time if it's available) Communication: Owners will say that messaging on VRBO is not their preferred method of communication. Location: Excellent spot next to the public beach and Pompano Joe's--this is our fifth stay at Blue Surf! Blinds: There have been many negative comments about this issue already! A street light kept us awake all night in the upstairs bedroom (resulting in poor sleep), and downstairs lacks privacy (a bit unsettling). Additionally, there are missing slats in the living room blinds, all of which really affects sleep quality and personal privacy (spoils a vacation). Wi-Fi: Upstairs, where we use the internet most, the connection is terrible. The signal is weak throughout the unit. Consider upgrading the Wi-Fi or relocating the modem upstairs. Carpets: The carpets are very old and stained. A thorough steam clean would be a good idea. Stairs: There's a hole in the wall near the stairs, covered only by a flimsy plastic plate--not very classy. TV: The TV in the upstairs bedroom doesn't work well; cable service is spotty. Stationary: There were no facial tissues provided, and we found there wasn't enough toilet paper. Outside Hose: Other units have hoses for cleaning feet and beach items, which could help preserve the carpets. Unfortunately, our unit was missing this amenity. Additional Fan: The extra fan provided didn't work properly; the motor was loose in the frame, making it unsafe to use. Extras: This unit is quite basic, lacking any worthwhile extras. Some units offer snacks and toiletries, but here we found rubber bracelets instead. Bathrooms: Seemed semi-remodeled but towel rack upstairs was falling out of wall and upstairs bathroom floor had low spots/flex. Downstairs faucet was pouring water too close to rear of sink making even washing hands awkward. Other Blue Surf units we've stayed at which were way better: #4, #9, and #12.
