I live in California, and I recently hired Ethical Plumbing to install a water main and sewer…read morelateral line to a house in Taylors. This project was particularly stressful since I was having to arrange everything from several thousand miles away, but they took away all of the stress related to the water and sewer lines. They were an absolute pleasure to work with. From start to finish, Alisa communicated exceptionally well, responding quickly to my phone calls and emails and keeping me informed about each step of the process. Brandon was great as well. He went the extra mile, took initiative and requested that the sewer utility allow us to tie into an existing lateral line near the street. I had no idea that this was even a possibility, but this extra effort on his part saved me around $10k. Dominick and his crew worked quickly and efficiently to get this project finished in spite of the hot weather. The job went smoothly, quickly, and they left our property neat and clean. All three of them were friendly, helpful, and professional throughout the entire process. On top of all this, Ethical Plumbing was less expensive than the other quote that I received for this project. I can't thank them enough, and I would highly recommend them for any plumbing needs in the Greenville area.

I needed a new faucet installed and it seemed like a straightforward job that should not cost an arm and a leg, but, I was charged $630 for 45 minutes of work to install a faucet that I already had purchased. Maybe I shouldn't be blaming the company. Maybe I should blame myself for being ignorant.

Monday was the absolute Mondayist of Monday's. While awaiting a window repair man for a baseball…read morethat was hit through our window we got an unexpected visitor. (We have 4 boys and this was on their warming label when received so no surprise) Greenville water stopped by to shut off our water from extreme use asking if we knew we had a leak. No, we did not. He went above his job and tried to located the hidden but massive leak to no avail. He did shut off the water to the house to stop the mystery leak. We called several plumbers and made appointments for the following day which for a house of 6 seemed like a ridiculously long time without water. (The toilets... that's all I say). Enter Mr. Rooter who said they could have someone there in 30 minutes. The technician was quick and gave us our options within 15 minutes of arriving. There was no obvious leak but the crawl space under the house was dry. We had 2 options; get a leak detector out and locate the leak then he'll fix it OR he could dig up the line starting from the meter and work his way up. We went with option 2. They got the leak detector guy out shortly there after and unfortunately it took him a little longer to find the leak which was 3 feet below the meter so it wouldn't be repaired until the following morning. Tuesday the original technician showed up bright and early and repaired the leak quickly. $1000 later our mystery leak, that could have been much worse than it was, was fixed. HIGHLY recommend these guys as they were very friendly, extremely fast, and very helpful.

I called Ronnie with Mr. Rooter and he answered the phone and told me to call SJWD to turn off the water and he would get a tech out to the house at first day. Not pleased with my experience…read more I called and gave all the details I could give over the phone. Asked if they could give me a ball park cost. They said the tech could tell me what needed to be done and the cost when he arrived. When he arrived, he didn't even look at anything or hardly want to hear anything I had to say about what was going on. He basically just walked up and said here are your 3 options, they cost $270, $500 or $520. I said which one do I need. He said I don't really know, you choose and we will see if that's what the problem is.... REALLY!? So if I choose wrong, then we will have to do another thing and if that doesn't work we will have needed I'll spending well over $1000. H said yeah it's kind of a catch 22. I expected them to arrive and use some expertise, perhaps diagnostic tools and TELL ME what needed to be done to fix the job. Oh, and the guy said it was going to cost like $270 for him to dig up the septic tank. I could save some money by digging it up myself... ok, I'll spend 10 mins to save $270. So he left, I called back 10 mins later to get back in the cue. Before he made it back out I had l ready reached out to a different company and had them come out. I'll never call Roto Rooter again.

I've always thought it a shame when some talented contractors could do their trade (plumbing,…read moreelectrical, paint, etc...) but they couldn't manage the business side of things. Well after struggling (and I mean STRUGGLING) to get my previous plumber to actually show up and complete a job I got fed up and looked for someone else. I picked up a flyer from AAA Upstate Plumbing at the Southern Home & Garden Show so we called them. Not only did they come out within a few hours of my call - but they had the problem fixed and noticed a minor leak on the kitchen sink that I had noticed too but forgot to mention. They fixed that and then did a small extra job on another sink that I hadn't called about but while I had someone there I asked. I can't say enough good things about something as small and simple as actually showing up and fixing a problem - it's not rocket science you know. I found a new plumber to use and I'm glad I did.
