Chase dug all of this up to find our water pipe. Other plumbers were going to give up by now, but he didn't.

It's Sunday, the weekend before the Fourth of July, and we wake up to a leak in our water line outside. I call multiple places to get an estimate of how much it is to have someone come out. Corleys plumbing could not even come out today. Tristate plumbing was going to charge us $289 to even come out today. I called Ken's plumbing and a very nice lady answered the phone and got me into contact with a young man named Chase. He showed up after his previous client that was in Greer. We live in Greenville, so it took no time at all for him to get here. Our leak was coming from under our yard in front of our house. He immediately asked if he could start digging, they charge $199 for digging fees. He showed up at 12:38pm and stopped digging around 4:46pm. He never gave up and even asked us if he could keep digging. Hours later, he finally found the broken water line right on the place that it was leaking from. At this point we were 47 inches deep underground. He is well over 6ft tall and he was in the hole up to his waist. The whole time he was smiling, being awesome and fixed our leak. Turns out a tree that the city planted grew underneath the pipe and pushed up against the water line to bust it. Chase was awesome and needs a raise ASAP. Any other place would have given up and left us here with no water, but Chase got it in all in one day. How awesome is that? Not to mention they charged only a $59 fee for someone to come out here. That's cheaper than anyone I could find. VERY pleased with this service, will be getting his card and now know who to go to in an emergency situation like this.

You can see where the large gap was creating from the pressure pushing the drywall down.

We had Christian, from Ken's Pluming come out to quote a project for us that involved him going into the attic. Christian damaged our ceiling by putting weight on it and causing a nail-pop in the corner of our guest bedroom. It took us a few days to notice the damage as it happened in the corner of a guest room. We scheduled to have Christian and Craig (Supervisor) come back to view the damage. They had to re-schedule on us and so we moved forward with another contractor completing our project. However, we took a video of the damage from Christian before any work was done by the other contractor so that Christian couldn't claim it wasn't him. https://youtu.be/DoG8xUrji4E When Christian and his supervisor, Craig, came out to look at the damage Christian immediately states he did not even leave the platform, a flat area by the attic door. Then changed his story and said, "I mean, I didn't go that far over there." They both noticed we had a new gas line installed, and quickly tried to state that the damage could have been from someone else, fair enough, that's why we took the video and informed them that we had proof of damage before anyone else was in the attic. Christian flip-flopped and was put on the spot by Craig to either state he did it or did not do it. No strong answer came from him and they both left stating they needed to talk with Ken (Owner) and would get back to us. We were informed today (6/17) after reaching back out for an answer, that they will not be fixing the ceiling as they can not be sure they did it or someone else even after the video evidence so I'm sharing this experience, and the video, as a warning that Ken's Plumbing doesn't take responsibility for their tech's actions. https://youtu.be/DoG8xUrji4E

The technician came out started the dishwasher and discovered the leak. He suggested we call others to see about the floor damage. Most importantly, unbeknown to us, he did not unhook the leaking dishwasher from plumbing, disconnect the power, or inform us that he had stopped the dishwasher mid-cycle. We did not think to ask about this, as we assumed the dishwasher would sit there until it and the floor were replaced. No options were given. He charged us and left. We decided to wait to replace the dishwasher until the floor was fixed, not realizing there was a ticking time bomb in the kitchen. After drying the floor out for three weeks, someone happened to fully close the dishwasher door and it started up again and leaked all over the kitchen floor! I am shocked. Who leaves a client in this position? At least give them the option to disconnect the plumbing and electrical or even pay extra and have the unit taken away. Needless to say I have called JB Plumbing back tonight (Thursday) at 9pm when this happened. A very nice service clerk answered the phone but the first appointment they have is next week. I have asked to speak to the owner. At this point I cannot recommend JB Plumbing, unless you are savvy enough to make sure the plumber did his job!

This project was particularly stressful since I was having to arrange everything from several thousand miles away, but they took away all of the stress related to the water and sewer lines. They were an absolute pleasure to work with. From start to finish, Alisa communicated exceptionally well, responding quickly to my phone calls and emails and keeping me informed about each step of the process. Brandon was great as well. He went the extra mile, took initiative and requested that the sewer utility allow us to tie into an existing lateral line near the street. I had no idea that this was even a possibility, but this extra effort on his part saved me around $10k. Dominick and his crew worked quickly and efficiently to get this project finished in spite of the hot weather. The job went smoothly, quickly, and they left our property neat and clean. All three of them were friendly, helpful, and professional throughout the entire process. On top of all this, Ethical Plumbing was less expensive than the other quote that I received for this project. I can't thank them enough, and I would highly recommend them for any plumbing needs in the Greenville area.

Told me that he legally had to shutoff the gas supply to the unit as it was dangerous. Quoted me ballpark figures of $5k to replace the heat exchanger or even better to replace the entire unit at a cost of $9k-$15k! I immediately called my prior service company and them come out and inspect the unit the next business day. They pulled the blower motor and showed me a very shiny heat exchanger that was in perfect shape. The thing the Preferred technician was showing me was the burner, not the heat exchanger! My prior technician also informed me my unit is still under warranty and the heat exchanger has a 20 year parts warranty so I would only have to pay $500 labor charge to replace it if it was bad. I attempted to address these complaints with management at Preferred Home Services, but after waiting for 3 days with no call back, decided to post this review. I will not use their services again.
