If I could give this place no stars I would!! I came early in the morning and Anne was there to help me. I get my haircuts from Anne all the time so I trusted her cause she did a good job in the past , but as she proceeded she told me she would not get the exact color I wanted.. that it would take a few times to get it . I was fine with it but wanted the layout I gave her.. she blew dry my hair and I told her this is not what I wanted I started to tear up cause I was so disappointed she told me she had other clients to give her some time.. I asked another stylist there for her opinion and if maybe she can help me out (with tears in my eyes) she said she was going to talk to some people to see what she can do.. they spoke to Anne then she came to me and told me she can't do my hair that I can go somewhere else to get it done but that she wasn't going to finish or give me what I was asking for that I can pay her whatever price . I was beyond upset but kept it professional.. when she proceeded to check me out she said she charges 200$ for this job but she was only going to charge me 100$ I told her no I wasn't going to pay what she was asking for cause I didn't get what I asked for and she didn't even try to help me out or fix it, not even acknowledge that I was crying because of the results.. she left me in the chair crying while she was mad cause I told her I didn't like it and she just brushed me to the side like if I did not even MATTER ! She told me she wasn't going to argue with me and took the 30$ I gave her for this work.. I would of worked with her if she handled the situation differently but she did not care one bit no body there cared all they did was just look and not try to help even tho I asked the other staff for help ! I'm so disappointed I have to walk around like this I trusted this place I trusted Anne !! But they just don't care. I will never come here again after so many years of getting a hair cut at this place I recommend you do your research really good before coming here!! read more

I came with a friend of mine which of asked for long layers SPECIFICALLY mentioned to not cut off the bottom and if needed to cut minimal hair, the lady chopped MORE than HALF of her length off. read more

I went for a massage and it seems like the salon and massage people are two different entities. Myra is the woman who gave me my massage and was wonderful. This review does not pertain to the massage. The people who work in the hair salon were talking so loudly throughout the whole time I was there. There's absolutely no way I could relax. And when I spoke to the woman about how loud they were throughout my massage she rudely told me they had to be loud. And then it wasn't her business it was up to the lady who gave me a massage. Absolutely unprofessional and unsatisfactory don't waste your time or money. read more

DISHONEST ESTABLISHMENT. I called to ask how much for a 13 year old girl hair cut, I was told on the phone it was between $10 to $12, I immediately made an appointment that same day since that was such a good deal. I told my husband to take her since I was unavailable. My husband told me once he got there they told him it was going to be $12 for a straight cut and if she wanted shampoo and conditioner it would be $25. My husband told the lady to just do the straight cut and shampoo and conditioner was not needed. Well once the hair cut was completed they charged him $25. Really?? Like WTF, is this how they run their business? They lie to their customers and trick them? This is not how you're suppose to run your business. DO NOT STEP FOOT IN THIS PLACE, THEY ARE DISHONEST. They did not even do a good job. Look at my daughters hair. Does it look even to you?? I paid $25 for them to mess up her hair and now I gotta go pay someone else to fix it. This is not right. I went here to get my roots bleached and to lighten/even out my hair color before attending a funeral. Now I understand that I presented the lady with no easy task however I WILL NOT be back!! Her name was tu I think? Before she started she just kept talking about how bad my hair was because she had to fix it. She didn't even comb my hair before she started so she was just ripping through my hair with her fingers and knotting it up more. She turned my roots WHITE because she let the bleach process so long. She had to apply bleach a second time to minimize the brass and she DYED my eyebrows dark ass brown --I DID NOT ASK FOR THAT but she already slapped it all over my brows and skin which didn't even come off all the way. I asked her to cut and curl my hair. After 2 rounds of bleach and toner she still didn't use a comb on my hair just ripped through it with her fingers like my scalp wasn't already tender from the chemical damage it just took. And when I said ow all she did was throw detangler in my hair like that was going to make her grabbing and pulling at my hair hurt less. I went to get pampered before a very hard day and I left feeling punished and mistreated. Hair color came out nice but the process to get there was painful and a hassle. 1/10 WOULD NOT RECOMMEND read more

Let me start by saying this place is not kid friendly. I was waiting for about 15 mins for them to tell me that they couldn't cut my sons hair, even tho when I came in I checked in. One lady said she didn't wanted it to messed up!? Like isn't that your job? and the other that she had and appointment in 10 mins, she was rude and arrogant and so I saw a guy cutting a men's cut and i asked the receptionist if he could do it and he said no! So I just walked out so mad it was almost like if they were discriminating me and my son. Never going back and I would NOT recommend it! read more

I hate to leave negative reviews , but this need to be shared . I came to see Leena at My Hair Design for the first time and second time at the 5th ave day spa. I am pretty sure she manages both locations. She is into quantity and not quality. First visit with her, she got a chunk of bleach in my eye( this has never happened before and I ve been bleaching my hair for about a decade) and my head hurt a bit from sitting under the dryer. I have her another chance and came back at the 5th day spa. Even though I came to see her, she had some other woman apply bleach to my head. This woman had no idea what she was doing and overlapped my blond. I asked Leena to wash me out and redo it herself. She agreed . I don't know what she did after that but I was in horrible pain through the whole process. I kept telling her that it was painful, but she wouldn't listen . It got so bad , that I started crying and she put a towel over my face. ( not sure why. May be so no one else would see it) I left with oozing burns all over my head and my hair was unfinished!!!! Yellow roots ! She charged me and told me to come back to get it finished, but I am not letting her touch me again. I wanted to share my experience so may be someone else doesn't get hurt. I would give this place a zero if I could! I took my son on Sunday before school started and the lady that cut my sons hair did such a horrible job! She was even arguing with me and not understanding me she tried to fix my sons hair and she actually made it worst and what made it worst was that she charged me more than a child's hair cut! I'm guessing she was adding her own tip to it! She was really lucky my son was there because I would of gone off on her and she's actually lucky I paid her but never will I go back we usually go to sports clips but felt that it was too far for us that day and never will I make that mistake ever again!!!! I've been going here for almost 5 years now and I always have Leena cut my hair. When I tell her to trim my hair, I don't walk out with a bunch of hair missing like I would at other places. She actually shows you how much she would take off before she does it. I honestly won't let anyone else touch my bangs because I'm picky about how they look. If there is something to be fixed, she fixes it for free within 7 days. She is pretty busy so it's best to make an appointment before you go in. A lot of times I get lucky and am able to get one the same day. Leena has been through all my different hair styles and they have always looked great! read more

The quality of this service really depends on the stylist you use. While I have had one decent hair cut here, I've also had a stylist tell me that he couldn't cut my hair without straightening it. He then burned my hair. For the most part, I would not recommend. read more

I highly recommend not wasting your time and money on this dump. The ladie that cut my hair gave me a lot of attitude when I described what I specifically wanted. I was so shocked at the attitude when I was just telling her how I wanted my hair to be cut. She acted as if I was telling her how to do her job. Very rude and condescending to me the entire time. And after all was said and done she messed it up and cut what I said I didn't want cut. To top the entire miserable experience off, when I went to pay the same ride lady took my card, spent 5 minutes trying to figure out the machine then told me there is no money on my credit card when in fact the was hundreds. So she confiscated my drivers license and demanded I go to a ATM and get cash right now. I want to make sure nobody has to go through what I went through today.
