Smiley bday girl
Tricia D.

I am so grateful that I decided to book my daughter's 5th bday here at My Gym! This was easily the best bday party I've planned for either of my girls. More than just bouncing around, the two young lady instructors did such an amazing job keeping my daughter and her friends fully engaged, entertained with creative, age-appropriate games for her and her friends ranging from ages 2-9yrs old for the entire 2hrs! They were inclusive to all the kids without being pushy and gave special attention to my extraverted bday girl. I arrived right at 3pm and was welcomed with a nice set-up of table covers, balloons, and bday banner. It was a hot summer day and the place was nicely air-conditioned. When the guests started to arrive, the children excitedly joined in on the activities while the parents sat back and enjoyed themselves without a fret or being forced to participate in something silly with a risk of pulling a muscle. Seriously, if my daughter was invited to a party like this, I would be a very happy parent. I ordered Mediterranean food for the adults and pizza for the kids. Overall, the parents seemed relaxed and were smiling often; as for the children, they were saying to their parents that they wanted to have their bday party here as well. That's a lot of validation. Low stress and loads of fun. Inexpensive too compared to many other placed in the East Bay (I did my research). I also gave the two female instructors a tip for their positive energy and leading a packed, fun-filled itinerary for the kids. Thank you ladies! Oh and my younger daughter, age 2.5 has been attending her gym class for her age group for about 2 months and loves it. This place is well run and operated. Thanks again for serving our young families in our community!

My 13 month old loves it! The setup changes weekly so there's always something to try. My day care provider takes her one day a week, and I try to hit a practice play session once a week. The practice session are open for all ages so it can get rambunctious and I have to watch closely to make sure she doesn't get run over by an active 3 year old. The sessions for her age group are fun, mixing group and individual activities. It really focuses on physical activity and agility, and some socialization. I found this different than Gymboree, which is more socialization and less agility/strength. Both are good, they are just different. Both are complete germy cesspools; kiddo got her first cold after going to My Gym and Gymboree in the same week. That's just what happens when a bunch of kids get together. Better now than kindergarten. The other big difference between My Gym and Gymboree is the time available. My Gym is much more limited on hours, and Gymboree allows you to use San Ramon and Pleasanton facilities interchangeably. Gymboree has unlimited "practice play" plus one session a week, whereas My Gym is one practice play and one session per week. Ultimately we went with My Gym; we liked the people and the physical activity. My kid is already really social; she'll lean on random moms and say hi to everybody.

We love my gym! Our little man started classes around one years old. Mr d and the whole staff are so friendly and you can tell they love interacting with the kids. It's a very special place and really helped with developmental skills. Thanks my gym!

This is our first time stopping into My Gym in San Ramon for a Birthday Party. We've driven by many times and are glad we got invited because this place is great for kids age 7 mos to 7 years old. Our kids are having an excellent time dancing, playing, stretching and jumping into the ball pit. Half of the party has been free play while the other half was led by two instructors. They offer weekly parent participation classes (ages 7 mos to 3.5 years) independent classes (ages 3.25 - 7 years) and practice and play classes. The price is $80 for a month and includes one class and one practice and play. Discounts are available for additional siblings. Our daughter is 4.5 years old and there are 4 class offerings for her age group in one week. Unfortunately none of the times work with her school or our before dinner schedule. I wish more time offerings were available in the morning so we could take classes here. The classes look great.

Trial class is FREE!

The classes feel like studio classes (like barre or spin, etc.) that you'd be paying almost $200/month for without any amenities or regular gym equipment. I've been to other gyms in the past that had a lot of hm, lets just call it people watching and social hour. Folks here are definitely here to workout, do their own thing and friendly. Definitely a no judgement zone. I also had some hesitations based on other reviews about not being able to freeze or cancel membership within the first year especially if you have an injury and what not but decided to go for it anyway despite that, more on that later. Some other other gyms didn't seem to be any better based on those reviews so it probably would've been similar issues elsewhere anyway. When you initial sign up, they give you some comp sessions with a trainer (to obviously sell you personal training) but it's something I wanted to try anyway. I thought, why not, let's give it a go for a few months since I thought it would be good to get an extra boost and back into a routine. Well, a few months had passed and then I had some travel plans so I was away from the gym but then came back from my travels with a severe knee injury where I could barely walk. It sucked but I showed up anyway. Not because I couldn't cancel my membership due to the contract terms but because I needed movement for rehab. I was initially hesitant about returning to training because I felt like I wouldn't be training at 100%. And let's be real, the training sessions aren't cheap. After some discussion with physical therapist for a rehab plan, I decided to return to training with Summer and it was honestly one of the best decisions I've made. Summer programed exercises for me to supplement my PT. She has been really awesome to work with, because my program needed a lot of re-working along the way to adapt to my rehab progress. She's also open to feedback and really great with listening to my input on things that I want to work on. While I am still ways away from being 100% recovered from my knee injury, I already feel like it's night and day compared to just a few months ago. So why only 4 stars? Well, only taking one off is quite generous despite some issues with their app, specifically for training and the so-so amenities in the locker room. The app isn't the best and there were some miscommunications with it that led to a lot of frustration but the training manager Matt was really nice and made it right. The other reason for taking off the star was the amenities which they finally changed to something that smells way better. The previous products didn't smell good and it seemed like the shampoo, body wash, and face cleanser seemed like it was all the same soap in the shower. Didn't feel like there is anything different between the stuff in the bottles. It wouldn't even upset me that there was just one multipurpose wash but the same soap in the different bottles is just confusing for me. Like what's the point? Anyway, good riddance with the old stuff. I haven't tried the new stuff yet aside from the lotion that smells heavenly. I haven't been to the other locations to compare but this one is sufficient for my needs.

Currently, the play schedule for pickleball is only on Sundays from 4 - 7 PM. The turn-out on this first day was huge. There were plenty of staff to help guests pay and register for play. They had plenty of regulation ball used for play and they even had an instructor giving pointers and tips to beginners. This should become a big hit with the local players because it is playable day or night, is air conditioned so it's still comfortable on hot, humid days and the cost is reasonable.
