Buyer beware! This place scammed me out of $79! I called and asked if they have a lab on site to get glasses within an hour. They said yes. At no time did they say sometimes we need to send glasses out to be completed. I did my test and when it was time to get glasses they couldn't tell me if I would receive them within an hour or not until I paid... I'm not from the area and needed my glasses today! So, I needed to know for sure if they would be done or not. Wasn't worth the risk BUT if I purchased my glasses there I wouldn't need to pay the eye exam which was the $79... so, since they couldn't promise to finish my glasses without paying up front I believe they scammed me out of the $79! Front desk staff were so quick to help me get the most out of my insurance and went above and beyond to make sure I had a great experience. The remote exam was done well and was fine overall. If you are thinking about scheduling an appointment here, I would reconsider. I wouldn't recommend Stanton Optical to anyone who values transparency, quality care, or seeing an actual doctor. I initially had scheduled an appointment for 11:30, that when booking stated it would be around a 15 minute visit. I arrived 10 minutes early to check in but was not called back until almost noon. My total time in the officer was over an hour. The wait would not have been that serious, however it is frustrating given how little actual care was provided. What was not made clear until I was already back there for the appointment is that you do not see an in-person doctor. At all. The staff there performed the initial tests and were very kind and informative. However, the actual eye "exam" was conducted by a remote tech over video while I stared at an eye chart reflected in a mirror. This tech appeared to be in a call center like location where there was a lot of background noise making it hard to hear. The information was then supposedly sent to a doctor I never saw, spoke to, or had any direct communication with. If you expect an actual eye doctor to be present, be warned -- there isn't one. The prescription I was given was different from my current . While prescriptions can change, I have had zero issues with my current prescription. Truthfully if I had the opportunity to speak with an actual doctor, I would be less hesitant. However, it's hard to trust a remote opinion from someone I never met, especially when I wasn't given the chance to ask questions or discuss the change with a real doctor. I was given trial contacts that didn't feel right. When I asked if I could try a different strength, I was told no, that I had to wait a week because the doctor said that's the prescription. Again, a doctor I never saw or spoke to. To make matters worse, I was charged a $50 contact fitting fee. I expressed discomfort, asked for adjustments, and was told nothing could be done. Charging a fitting fee when no actual fitting or adjustment occurs hardly seems fair. I am placing no blame on the staff; they were all very kind! The business themselves is the issue here and I am understanding of the fact they have no control over that. But this felt less like vision care and more like a high-volume operation designed to rush people through, minimize actual medical involvement, and still charge full-service prices. I started my appointment 45 minutes after it was scheduled. My options were not explained. After I left, the store I saw I was charged for items I was not told about. I have a $25 warranty charge, but it was never mentioned to me. I don't know what is covered under the warranty I probably would not have wanted it. I was given a quote on phone, got to store for a formal quote, I was give a quote 115 higher that the phone quote . Cool that can happen. Left and decided to come Back and go ahead and give them a shot. Got the initial part of the eye exam some Wich couldn't be completed properly they don't dilate eyes there, finished that the surprise it's a tele health optometrist , that went ok. Got done, picked out a pair of frames that was listed as BOGO, took them to the lady working that stunk from cigarette smoke. She worked everything up and it went from 250 to 320 without the second BOGO frames. She declined that without even asking if I was interested. I inquired about the huge price jump and she said she didn't have the reflective coating on the first quote, which conveniently couldn't be found along with forgot to figure in all the taxes. When you ask for a quote they should stick to the quote and not added things it omit things then get mad when you call them out for lying and being dishonest . I lost my eye exam for the year, paid the 10 dollar Copay and left. I will never step foot on that property ever again. If I have to walk past the business. I will cross the street first . read more

I would not recommend Stanton Optical in Norman, Oklahoma to anyone. The staff is nice, but they are grossly understaffed and the management is unresponsive. The reason I am writing this review for two reasons: Poor Service and understaffed I ordered and paid for my glasses on January 17th, 2025. I picked up two of the three pairs ordered the end of January. I called on February 3rd and the employee who answered could not locate the third pair of my glasses or give me a status as to when i could expect to receive them. She advised that she print my work order and give it to her Manager, Alyssa who would call me. Five days later on Saturday, February 8th, I stopped into the store. No manager available and no one could tell me when i will receive my third pair of glasses. The employee advised she would print my work order and have her manager call me. I gave the manager until 4:00 p.m. today, February 9th and called back. I received the same run around, but I did finally get a call back because advised I would be contacting the owner if I didn't get a response. I was unable to answer her call. She left a message but did not provide a return phone number for me to call her or advise on her next steps to figure out what happened to the third pair of glasses that I paid for in good faith. Unbelievable....... Virtual Eye Exams- Beware You should be aware they do not have an actual optometrist on site. It is a virtual eye exam where you never see or speak to an optometrist. If only I could do negative stars! The exam is via TV..The Optometrist was very demanding and went through way to fast. My prescription was WAY Off! I went back and they retested and I got trial contacts..I told them they where wrong prescription and they said they them and let my eyes adjust! I tried them 1 time and they where completely wrong! I am patient and give people the chance to correct their wrongs. Here is my story, I realize my eyesight isn't quite what it used to be so I decide I will go to Stanton Optical because they are open weekend. There were mixed reviews but I decided to give it a go. I do my virtual eye exam with someone who has English as a second language, no buggy I can understand him just fine. After the fastest exam I have ever had qI am taken immediately to their glasses room to look for glasses. They have two people working this area and it takes two plus hours to get my glasses and contacts and X's (my child) glasses ordered. We get told both have to be sent off for the lenses. No biggy. In the mean time I realize the trail contacts are way off so I go back in for an exam they. Give me another exam and another trail contact. A few days and again I know they are not right. So exam number three. Mind you each time I wait for hours on the glasses side for one of the two team members to put in my new prescription. So I go back because my trail contacts are still right I tell Lynda who has been helping me this whole time and who btw. Smells like cigarettes each time and coughs on her hands and touches everything that I am not doing anymore exams and I want a refund. She ask me to wait for my glasses just to make sure it is not just the contacts. So I did. Two weeks later the sunglasses came in and I tried them. Guess what they were a wrong prescription. So I ask again for a refund. Lynda advises me I can not have a refund but I can go to an outside Dr. and have an eye exam done and they will remake my glasses and reorder the contacts. So they have already charged my insurance so now I get to pay an outside eye dr. $220 more dollars to do an exam, mind you I already have paid over $1100 for the Stanton Optical nightmare experience. If you want a good exam do not go here and play into their gimmicks. My experience here was interesting to say the least i walk in and it takes about 15 minutes longer then excepted which is fair then my pre exam was very good the man who did it was very nice and professional but then for the actual exam i was sat down it was weird the person i expected to do the exam left and than a screen turned on and a completely different person did the exam remotely which was weird and a little akword but then when i went to order the glasses the old women looked like she didn't know what she was doing and took my debit card without telling me what she was doing and a different woman who was on break had to take over then she said we will call you when there done we said today right because they advertise 30 minutes or less to get your glasses and she look at me like im the idiot then she says in a mad voice i guess so so i leave to go see other stores near by and after about 2 hours we call them and the old lady answers and says there not done an hour later we go to the store and the kind man from the beginning says oh they've been done for like an hour and a half and she didn't call us so please don't waist your time here just go to a different location and screw you old lady read more

Please look at all the reviews, I am NOT an isolated wrong prescription. I should have read reviews on here. I never would have gone. It appears they don't resolve wrong prescriptions. Some one is going to get killed over the wrong prescription!!! I used them to get new eyeglasses and contacts. The do the eye exam over the internet. I never got notified my glasses and contacts were in. I called they said they weren't there. I explained that they should have been. Then all of a sudden they found them. I went to pick them up again I was told they weren't there I said I called to confirm. At first he couldn't even find me in his system. I gave him the day and time of my appt. He found my glasses and contacts were there. I was sent over to the glasses. They again couldn't find them. Finally they found them. I put on the glasses and asked if they wanted to check them. I was told they used the latest technology to fill the prescription and checking them wouldn't be necessary. Well, my up close vision is great. My distance is awful! My astigmatism correction is not existent. I relayed all this to their corporate headquarters on their survey of my visit. I've heard nothing! My visit was in December. So I'm out over $600.00. I have called multiple times and asked for a refund. I get told the manager is away and they will have her call. No call. Never again. The eye exam was not professional, it was a video doc from Florida. Had I known this I never would have made the appointment. The limited frame selection did not match what was online, and the help was rather fresh in attitude, "hon, that's corporate, it doesn't match what we have in stock." I kept hearing "babe" and "hon," the younger one acted flirtatious telling me about her ex boyfriend,.... as if...,. The lenses were not great, with blurry spots in one eye, they said too bad that's the way they are, you have to get used to them (never did) so I decided to start over and go to a real doctor after the frames snapped whilst gently cleaning them. I had an appointment at 10:00 am. I got here and checked in. Didn't get called back for the exam until 11:15 am. They took me back and did a series of 3 machines, that part was pretty quick, and then into an exam room. Where the doctor was on a screen. Weird, but okay, I was in a desperate situation and really needed contacts so whatever let's do this. Half way through the exam it all disconnects and the "doctor" is gone. Now it's 11:58 am and I am still sitting in this chair waiting for them to finish this up. The people seem nice enough, but it's incredibly unprofessional and unorganized. I read the reviews and none of them compared to my experience. The front office was very nice. The young man that performed all of my eye tests was very knowledgeable and answered all of my questions. My eye exam was done virtually and as a healthcare provider myself, I found this very interesting. I thought how will my they get my prescription right? She was able to control it from her end and I could do 1 or 2 just like if she was in the room. Next I went out and found frames and in 1 week I got my glasses in. I was scared after reading all of the reviews on how their prescription was wrong, well not in my case. My prescription was right on and they fit perfectly without any corrections. I'm very pleased with my two pairs of glasses, one for everyday and one pair of sunglasses. I'm very satisfied and will use them again. I went here for my husbands glasses. The "technician" who did his eye exam was not in office, he was doing the exam via a zoom call. The process of picking out glasses and delivery was overall okay. However, the prescription was wrong and we were not happy with the glasses. We saw online that returns could be done within 30 days, but when we went in to express our concern over the prescription and return the glasses we were told that office does not do returns. Fair warning, if you shop here, you better hope they get it right the first time because you can't decide to go somewhere else. read more

I would give negative stars if I could. The older lady snatched me away from the lady who was helping me then complained to me the whole time that the other lady "was mad." They then ordered the wrong prescription after the older lady changed the order because the nice lady "didn't know what she was doing" I told them to just cancel the order and the manager told me I could exchange them only- even though they ordered the wrong ones and I never got them To start with! They couldn't get my insurance right, the free second pair isn't free except for the frames, the cheaper glasses are ugly as can be, anything with my style was so over priced, and anything you want added was extra cost and those costs were outrageous as well, now for the eye exam there was no doctor in the office it was virtual, told the doctor I have flashes of light in my left eye he never mentioned anything about it, I looked it up one cause is a partially detached retina would have been nice to know it is a problem or not but he never told me if my eyes where worse from the prescription on my glasses or nothing, stay away from this place go see a real doctor. I made an appointment and was seen 15 min after my appointment. They have different machines set up on a table and do various test right behind the desk in an open area. Then you go in a room for an eye exam. I thought I would see an optometrist but instead it was a virtual visit with a technician that spoke English with a very strong accent that was hard to understand. The test was difficult because of having a hard time telling the difference in what I was seeing on the test. I told the technician I was having a hard time and she didn't care and told me to just tell her which one was "better". Then I went in and saw another person to choose glasses. There was many to choose from but they all seemed flimsy. I found some that was okay. Through the entire process I was thinking this was not right and i should leave. Wish i would have. The next day after the appointment I woke up with my eyes matted shut and red. I had pink eye. Had to get eye drops. A week and a half later my glasses came in. I picked them up. They had a bunch of people they were working with. I waited 20 min before I got help. Got my glasses and told them it was hard to see clearly. They said I had to get used to them. I had progressive lenses. I have had progressive lenses before and these did not seem right. I tried to get used to them for a month. I went back and had to go back through the entire process. They said I had the wrong prescription and the lenses were not measured correctly? It took 3 weeks to get my glasses back. I have worn them for another month now. They are definitely better but not like my other glasses like I have had at an eye dr office. The glasses are loose in the joints and slid down after wearing them for a month. I paid over $500 for 2 pairs of glasses that are flimsy and still not the right prescription. I will not return. I will go back to my eye dr. and get some good quality glasses that I can see out of and fit well. read more

They delivered my second pair of glasses a little late but overall the older lady that helped me was sweet as could be I would go back just because of the customer service she took the time to provide to me. Overall the staff wants to help but are over worked & understaffed like most places right now. They did there best with the resources the company affords them so remember they don't mess up your orders for fun but they sure have to listen to people snap at them for policies or lost orders they have no control over!! You are not seen by a doctor, it is via webcam and that person doesn't speak English well either. It is super weird. My prescription ended up being wrong so I don't wear the glasses. AND No local phone number, you are calling some unknown country and they are seriously hard to understand. I just need a copy of my prescription and it's like pulling teeth. I called ahead of my appointment and asked if they took my insurance and was told they did but when I arrived they said they can't take it, and I ended up paying more. I was there for several hours when typically it takes significantly less time at other places. The person who helped me was more interested in selling me things then actually caring for their customer. I saw the VIRTUAL doctor, and was told my eyes are both the same prescription even though I know they aren't. I couldn't see anything from my left eye on any of the slides he showed me. I still haven't received my ONE PAIR of glasses that I ordered, even though it is past the date they said they would be ready by. My usual doctor has them ready the same day. Overall I would not recommend going here if you want friendly staff who care, a quality doctor, the correct prescription, or if you want your glasses quickly. read more

I even went above the Manager to the store owner and I am still waiting on a phone call back! This has been the worst experience that I have ever had! Now I'm going to discuss glasses. 2 pairs were advertised $69, I believe. I picked out 2 pairs. First pair was their "most expensive". Cost of frame over $200 plus lenses. It takes about two weeks to get glasses. What? I asked what about advertised special. She explained "that's those 8 pairs over there". I asked for my prescription and ordered online. I've worn glasses for many years and have a very simple prescription. If I had eye health issues I'd not go there. I am 75% sure I wouldn't return. read more

The experience was not good at all. The other reviews are correct. We were not seen by a doctor. The second pair is definitely not free. One of the pairs that we bought literally broke within 24 hours, and they were not going to replace them because we didn't get the warranty. They took the lenses out of the pair and put them in the floor model that they had. They broke within 2 months in the exact same spot as the first pair. So, I wore the second pair I bought. Now, it is 9 months later, and those broke. All pairs have broken and it hasn't even been a year! I have been wearing glasses for 15 years, and I have frames that have lasted years.
