Dr. Nguyen felt it was funny to make rude comments about me turning forty and that I will need bifocals soon because of my age. My vision is .75 and he made my glasses for -1.25. The staff is rude and doesn't listen when you express you can't see. I will never do business with the Doctor or company again. I laughed in their face and walked out, called another doctor while still in their parking lot, and got an appointment .3 miles down the road with Eye Care Norman who won't play stupid insurance games. The staff lack knowledge about insurance deductibles and the amount that pearls charged For the contact lens I was quoted a price as well as it was written down for me But They did not honor the price that was quoted to me six days ago when I was in for my fitting and my exam, I was quoted a price and was told by the tech that it was higher than it was previous years because they had gone up and then when I came pay for and order the contact, the prices went up again in six days and they would not honors the price that they had told me six days ago none of the staff could figure out the price difference and now I am so disappointed and still did not order my contacts because it is higher than last week and I was not given an itemized statement showing what I was going to be charged for they pulled an amount out of the air and thought I would just pay it unprofessionally to say the least. The staff is not friend. They never accurately measure my pupillary distance to my progressive lens, therefore I really can't even use my progressive lens. Anyone who has these lenses know how expensive they are. I pay for scratch resistance for my lenses and within 2 weeks they are scratched. And yes I take care of my glasses. I have decided I'm not going back. I've been to the Norman location and the one off Rockwell and the staff's unfriendly stance is the same. read more

This is the second year in a row the Norman Oklahoma, Pearle Vision store got my line-bifocals prescription totally wrong. I told them that vision through the glasses was completely blurry, near and far, through both lenses. Checking her screen, she told me the factory put clear glass in the lower 'reader' portion of the lenses... Member of staff then informed me that my vision would improve with wear of these glasses. Said I should just accept them anyway, and wear them until I can start seeing clearly. I gave Pearle Vision in Norman a second chance to get my glasses right. That doctor is fired. Now I must find a new eye doctor and start all over again. read more

Rude staff and store manager. Told me the reason my eyeglasses had been delayed by over a month was because I didn't have good vision insurance. Lied several times about when my glasses would be in. Terrible services. They sold me highly-priced glasses which were defective and later on when I asked them to repair they took more than two months. They didn't reply to phone calls, never followed up, etc. Ultimately, we have to tell them on a Saturday that we will not leave unless you give us a solution. One of the workers then pulled out the glasses. They replaced me, saying that the glasses have manufacturing defects no guys what they returned and sold it to me has no guarantee! They keep such in their stock! The overall time of services is more than two months. Very irresponsible. The staff tells a lot of lies. Be ready for such behavior. She acted like she had better things to do than help me. I will not be back if this is how she treats customer. I have never been treated so well in any place of business in my life. Their care is fabulous and their ability is amazing. I ended up with the most perfect corrected vision, I have ever had in my life. I ordered both contact lenses and glasses. To include custom multifocal prescription Oakley transition glasses, that arrived faster then I could purchase anywhere else, including the internet. They addressed all the issues I had, including scheduling a second appointment with an optometrist to address allergy issues. They most definitely stand behind their work and products. Furthermore, they do so with a customer oriented perspective. Great all the way around. read more

They wrote me an incorrect perception and refused to give me a proper exam or a refund.I Spoke to the manger she said "you don't know because you're not an optometrist" ,even though I cannot see out of the Prescription they wrote for me. A complete waste of time. The optometrist on staff are far more worried about getting you in the most expensive pair of glasses with the most expensive lenses. They could care less if you have improved vision after they drain your bank account . Frames are also overpriced. And the staff is very unprofessional.I Would leave a negative review if I could. This is my second time having an eye exam here. I was a little put out because I had to wait about 20 minutes after my appointment time to be seen, but my irritation quickly faded because the staff was so friendly. First, they have eye exams on Saturdays, which is really nice for those of us who work 8-5 Monday through Friday. I hate to take off work for things like that, so I really appreciate when a business caters to the standard work week schedule. I know they'd probably like to enjoy their weekend too. As far as the doctor himself, Dr. Clayborn, he is very good. He saw me quickly once the preliminary testing was complete, did the eye exam fast, fitted me for my contacts and even noted that I had an eye infection and prescribed me some treatment for it (yes, evidently I'm the smelly kid with an eye infection!). The service was fast, courteous and professional once I got in and got going. I also was able to order my contacts and check out pretty quickly and no one pushed the purchasing of additional products on me more than just inquiring whether I had any use for additional items - such as new glasses or sunglasses. I'll probably use them for my eye exam next year too. read more

if I could leave negative stars I would. After three visits I'm still not leaving in a prescription that I can see with. I've communicated all three times to the doctors that I cannot see clearly and each time they send me home anyway. I even asked during the last exam "is the goal for me to leave being able to see the 20/20 line on the chart? because I still can't see it without squinting." They were rude and unhelpful, the doctor actually left the room when I started crying out of frustration because I just want to be able to see. I also wasn't told until my third follow-up appointment that I have slight astigmatism. No mention was made of it during my first or second appointment. Overall horrible experience. I never thought I'd leave an eye doctor in absolute tears but here we are. I will never be visiting another pearle vision again, I'm scarred from the lack of customer service and concern for their patients. The entire point of going to an eye doctor is to leave being able to see clearly, is it not? read more

Not much went well with our visit. We had 4 consecutive appointments 10-11. The assistant was late making everyone's appointments late. Got in for the first one 30 minutes late. Guess the doctor felt he was too vip to do the assistants job so he just chilled and we all waited on her. Even after she got there she was nonchalant, no rush. To top that off they were not prepared for someone in a wheelchair at all. It was a chore getting my daughter anywhere and to even have the exam. Forgot we lived in a world where the handicapped needs are less important. Cancelled the last appointment because we were there so long and we had other stuff to do. The selection is not much and with vision insurance paid over 200 for a single vision pair of polycarbonate glasses. Also waiting 3 days is a bit much when most places do them in a day if not an hour. read more

The doctor was very nice, but my appointment was late getting started. The main room was very cramped, and I felt as though there was very little room to browse frames around the staff desks in the center. The rest of the staff was rather chatty and loud with eachother and not overly concerned with helping me find the right frames. The whole scene felt more like high school home room rather than a place of business centered around customer service. I can't say I'll be back. read more

Made an appointment to have an eye exam on line. Pearl Vision's Assistant Manager Alyssa called to confirm my scheduled time and answered all my questions right away. I showed up for the appointment and the staff was friendly and accommodating. I filled out a quick form, met with Josh the Lab Tech, which was very good at explaining what needed to be done during the eye screening process. I then met with Dr. Nguyen who was very patient, informative and efficient. The next thing I know I was picking out frames with the Optician Will. He was professional and made picking out frames a breeze . I went back to pick up my glasses yesterday and they were beautiful and just exactly what I had ordered from the prescription progressive lenses to the transitions (lenses change to sunglasses). Wish I could give a zero star rating. I've been wearing glasses for 25 years and this establishment provided the absolute worst experience I have ever had. Sales associate "Brooke" was extremely rude and condescending- offering unsolicited opinions on every single frame I tried on. She also kept asking "Does that make sense?" to any/all questions I had. She then proceeded to make fun of my strong prescription stating "Dang- that's a big-boy prescription" and laughing saying my current frames are "gross" and "unpopular". After assuring me my new glasses would be ready in 7-10 days, I got a call after two weeks saying it will be longer due to a clerical error. Three weeks rolls around and still nothing. Finally, after over a month my frames were ready... and wrong. No 'Transitions' which I paid for in full. I demanded a full refund and left. Manager Tori would not even speak to me face-to-face. To top it off, my son was born a day before my glasses were ready and I still haven't seen his face clearly. I relied on Pearle Vision to do their job and they failed. I cannot rate this business low enough. Brooke and Tori should be fired immediately. read more

I've been wearing glasses for 40+ years. By far the WORST experience I've had with doctor AND glasses. After exam I asked why I didn't see the crisp/clear results in the machine that I normally see after finishing the "which is better?, this one... or this one" exam. I was told that must be what the doctor (eye exam doc on premises) found to be your results. Came back for my glasses a week or so later (I was leaving for an out of state trip the following morning...my new glasses WERE finished that day, as promised). I am used to needing a day or two for my eyes to adjust to the new Rx, but something just felt "off". If I adjusted my left eye to see straight, my right eye would pull off vision. Same if I adjusted my right eye, my left would be off. I brought the glasses back. There was an un-explained astigmatism written into the Rx. I don't have a problem with astigmatism. They reworked the glasses with new lenses without the astigmatism aspect. Seeing better but still needed to get used to them (so I was told). I also bought a pair of sunglasses. The frames were totally not fitted to my face, and I was told that they could heat the earpieces and bend them to fit better. To this day those glasses slip with every tiny movement of my head! I got "push back" with every little concern I expressed by their techs. Every time I requested a fix, I was made to feel as if I was bothering them. Will absolutely NOT be returning ever. From Dr. Claborn, down to the tech who in so many words said the sunglass frames I bought could only be heated and reworked "so far". Worst eyeglasses experience ever!! (I've come to later learn that frames actually have SIZES...and the ones I was given were a WILDLY INAPPROPRIATE SIZE!!) Now, six months later, I am sucking up the price of a new exam and glasses before my yearly insurance coverage allows. read more

UPDATE - Dr. Claborn called and between him and the manager Brian remedied this situation for my family. I am so thankful they cared enough to make it right because I hate trying to find any new care provider after I've found someone I trust! DO NOT GO HERE! I never write reviews, but I have to this time. My oldest daughter and I have gone here for our exams and glasses for two years. I scheduled an appointment for my youngest daughter for today and was severely disappointed. The appointment was for 11:45 and I was told to come in at 11:30 to fill out paperwork. Instead of filling out the paperwork in the office, it was e-mailed to me so I could save time. On the way to the office, I received a call at 11:27 and was asked if I would be in soon. I told them yes that I was just a few minutes away. I received another call at 11:30 telling me they would have to reschedule my appointment. I told them I was less than a mile away and reminded them the appointment wasn't technically until 11:45. I was told that since I was the last appointment before lunch I should have been there at 11:30 and even if I arrived at 11:31 they would not see us today. I told them I would not reschedule and to cancel our appointments for next year as well because our family is firing them as our eyecare provider. read more

Let me start by saying that none of these are crucifiable offenses individually, but as a package deal, in one experience, they made for a regrettable ordeal. I have been to family eye facilities, Walmart eye care, as well as military eye care clinics. This was the most expensive and least enjoyable by far. They asked me to come in 10 minutes early to fill out new customer forms so that my appointment could begin on time (standard, no arguments there). A FULL 52 minutes from the time my actual appointment was set, they called me in for the initial tests. What made it worse was the staff idly chatting throughout the wait, and the 2 people that walked in after me, most likely very late for their own appointments, being taken directly to the testing room. I understand that customers run late, but a professional facility requires promptness and will make you reschedule if you are too late. And they were laaaaaatttttteeee. I waited another 20 minutes to see the doctor after the tests, but after committing to the initial wait I was in it for the long haul. I saw Dr. Clayborn. He was very cordial and knowledgeable and definitely put a brighter spin on the experience, up until the point that he handed me the contacts with my "new prescription" and I put them in. He told me that my eyes were very similar and that I wouldn't really notice if I just wore the same one. I get it, he was trying to help me out (it's cheaper if you can buy the same prescription for each eye) but I know that my eyes are NOT that close. Accidentally putting the wrong contact in the wrong eye is enough to give me a headache all day. But I gave it a whirl, put them in, blurry irritated vision. I told him that they were off, and he said OK and went and got me the actual numbers. We tried again and it was better, but still irritated vision. He said "it'll take some time to adjust". I get it. New prescription. Stuff looks weird. But I've worn new prescriptions before, this was not that type of weird. Sidenote: my prescription hadn't changed in 3 years and I had an exam 6 months prior to this one that upheld that trend. The Rx continued to feel off for the duration of the trial lenses (about 3 days). I ordered contacts online and, fortunately, was able to tweak the numbers back to my old Rx. Before i left the office, I wanted to try on some of the air optix color samples to see how they would look. They called someone over to help (I believe she had in color contacts of her own, but not positive). My eyes are veerrryyy dark brown and I had done my fair share of research on which colors/brand models to avoid. She was clueless, and my questions may as well have gone unanswered. The price was OUTRAGEOUS, considering that I did none of the extra tests and declined all additional services. Just the base Rx. If you are going to go here then nail down a price before you set your appointment date or you are in for a surprise. The end! But it wasn't! I had a glasses prescription done at the same time (This was 2/25/16). Over a move I lost the packet and today I called in so that I could get the glasses Rx. The staff member that answered was very nice and pleasant to talk to. She asked my name, I answered and spelled it out for her because my last name "Reid" can be spelled in any number of ways, and my date of birth. 40 minutes later I get an email with "Reed"'s Rx.... again.. an understandable mistake IF I hadn't spelled it for her, she didn't have my date of birth, and she had bothered to double check. As I said before, none of these are terrible things, but clusters of inconveniences are signs of an unprofessional environment. You would be much better off finding a Walmart with an eye car facility. UPDATE: The glasses Rx is wrong. It shows both lenses being the same strength. Apparently Dr. Clayborn wrote the prescription as the same in both eyes, changed it in his notes but not at the top of the page. And the glasses Rx was written from that. So to recap! 3 hours eye exam (including wait time), 45min waiting for the first email, 20min waiting for the second, and now another 45 waiting for the 3rd corrected glasses Rx. I will not go back! First, the lab messed up my husband's prescription for his eye glasses and when we went back to change them out, they treated him like he was stupid when he said the new pair was worse than his current pair. Finally she went back to test the glasses and sure enough one lens was wrong. Then while I was deciding on pair, the girl walked off, and without telling anyone, left the building. They made me wait 30 min before they figured out she was not there anymore and finally came to finish inputting my order (took him 2 minutes but they were too busy talking to want to do it themselves earlier....they kept telling me she would be right back-which was a flat out lie since they didn't even know where she was). Then they said 7-10 business days till we would get the glasses. So we waited. Finally 2 weeks later I called to ask. They had been sitting there for who knows how long and they didn't bother to call. They said we should have gotten an email but we hadn't. We had received an email the first time our glasses were ready so I had been looking for a other one but we never got one with the second order. I'm assuming since it was a do over order that the system didn't know to send one and their customer service is so awful that it doesn't surprise me that we didn't get a phone call. All the employees were talking and joking inappropriately while I was sitting waiting to be helped. Very unprofessional. I wouldn't even go back to get my glasses adjusted there because of the employees' incompetence. read more
