Additionally, they are closed 12-1 Monday-Thursday. So, I have to take vacation time to attend an appointment since the office isn't open during lunch or after the normal business hours of 8-5. Pleased with my eye exam experience, I ordered both glasses and contact lens. I was told I would be called when they arrived; after three weeks with no call, I went in and discovered the glasses had arrived a week earlier. I understand things happen and occasionally an order slips through the cracks; at any rate, I was happy to have my glasses. After picking up my glasses, I waited nearly 2 months for my contacts to arrive with no contact from the office. I periodically called and received various reasons explaining the delay ranging from a backorder at the manufacturer to a delayed UPS delivery to no record being found of my order. When the delivery finally arrived, after speaking to the clerk numerous times to schedule a time to pick them up, I took a vacation hour and drove over. They STILL had not arrived despite being told they were in the office. I really do like Dr. Venard and think he's a great optometrist, but my experience with purchasing frames and contacts with his office ensures I will never use him again.

The staff was friendly and competent, as was the doctor, Julie Motes. Her exam was thorough and smooth, even though I had my toddler with me the entire appointment. I've ordered the same contacts for several years, but the doctor informed me that they had a new version out. She gave me a sample and included the cost breakdown of my old contacts versus the new model - so helpful in making informed decisions! Another huge point: I have never used vision insurance for my contacts prescription, and my visit to NW Vision Source was no exception. Because of this, the doctor discounted my exam fee and contact fitting, making it extremely affordable. NW Vision Source was such a good find. I will absolutely be a long term patient.

I think we hit the jackpot first time out. Dr Motes and staff were absolutely amazing. The scheduling was easy and quick once we found out they were on our vision plan. Perfect location to navigate to! Next up was picking out new frames & lenses. Had the joy of working with Angela and we went though several frames before finding the one I liked. My wife was assisted by Amanda and she was extremely helpful as well. We're glad we found a wonderful eye doctor.

What is weird is that I explained how I do a lot of outdoor activity, and the sales people there claimed transition lenses would be great. Oh really? Much like this business, the best the glasses get outside is shady. If I'm going in the direction of the sun, I'm simply blinded. They don't even work inside of a vehicle. Surely, people can't be raving about this useless technology, right? After doing some online research, it looks like they just offered me the cheapest, most ineffective type of transition lenses simply to upsell me. Hey, that's a practice that shouldn't be praised. The only reason this has more than one star is that the optometrist seemed competent. She did an examination simply based off my old glasses, but who am I to tell a pro has to do her job? Mostly, I feel ripped off on some shoddy glasses that don't do what I had hoped for. The annoying part about this is that this shady place used up my insurance benefits for a year, so I'll have to get my glasses online. That sounds bad, but I wouldn't be surprised if this place ordered their glasses online and just passed the cost off to the consumer. Last thing: They are open less hours than a bank! So, thanks for the inconvenience and selling me a useless product. I'll be certain to not return.

They made her real comfortable and had lots of things that appealed to kids, like Frozen the movie while waiting for the doctor to arrive - which only took a minute anyway. But the real MVPs were the front office staff. We booked an appointment in advance but ended up having a conflict as my younger daughter needed a last minute surgery the day we were supposed to go. The scheduler was super accommodating and got me in the same day due to a cancellation. Really great experience. Thank you!

Also neither the doctor nor the optician offered anti-reflective lenses or blue light protection for his glasses. As a matter fact, the optician never came within 8 feet of us. He let the seven-year-old pick out his own frames and then ask him how they fit... he doesn't know how they fit. He's seven and he's never worn glasses and he can't see what's going on behind his ears. Same thing when he picked them up. He never looked to see how the frames fit behind the child's ears... Whether the temples were too long or not. He just told him to put them on and then asked him how they felt but never checked anything. I saw other opticians up close and personal with kids picking up their glasses so I feel like we got a little shafted. The experience could've been a lot better in my opinion. I had to adjust his frames myself once we got home.

After leaving the office, I started calling around trying to find someone who could see me the same day. After a bit of a hunt, I found Oklahoma City Vision. The receptionist was super nice and told me to just come on in since I was already nearby instead of waiting an hour and a half for my appointment time. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted right away. Both receptionists were so friendly, and I was called back about 10 minutes after checking in. The tech who helped me was amazing--so kind, knowledgeable, and familiar with autoimmune conditions. She took her time going through my medical history and made me feel really comfortable. After she finished, I only waited a few minutes before Dr. Pitts came in. He was so patient, kind, and detail-oriented. I've been getting annual eye exams for over 30+ years, and I've never had a doctor be so thorough or explain things in such detail. Usually, I get my exam, grab my prescription, and leave--but this visit was completely different. Right away, Dr. Pitts noticed I had severe dry eyes and actually took the time to talk through past treatments and new options besides just eye drops (which never seem to be covered by insurance anyway!). I had no idea there were other treatments available, so that was a really pleasant surprise. Thankfully, the shingles hadn't spread to my eyes, so I decided to go ahead and do my regular exam. Dr. Pitts showed me the images of my eyes and explained everything so clearly. I told him I hate driving at night because I can't see well, and he figured out it was because of my previous prescription! He explained exactly what needed to be fixed. I couldn't remember what vision insurance I had, and I planned on paying out of pocket. I told the tech this as well. She started naming vision insurance one name sounded familiar VSP. While helping me with contact lenses, she took it upon herself to check my insurance and found that I actually had VSP coverage. That ended up saving me about $250! She definitely didn't have to do that, but it meant so much. Overall, I was so impressed and grateful that they fit me in last-minute and still gave me such a thorough, unhurried exam. Dr. Pitts and his team were wonderful from start to finish. I left there understanding more about my eyes than I ever have before. I also left with a week's worth of trial contacts, and my vision already feels so much better! I'm actually excited to go back next week for my recheck, dry eye treatment, and to pick out some new glasses.
