I am as blind as a bat and the contact prescription is so high that it is not commonly carried by most eye clinics. Oftentimes my lenses need to be special ordered. So if I'm traveling out of town and happen to lose or tear a lens, then lose or tear my backup lens - I typically find myself in big trouble. Fortunately, I called Norman Eye Associates and they saved the day. I explained my situation and the very friendly and helpful receptionist told me that she could check and see if they carried my lenses. It turned out they did. She told me she'd have the lenses waiting for me up front. Coincidentally, their office was within walking distance from where I was staying. I guess I never noticed it because I never needed an eye doctor in Norman before. When I got to the office, they knew it was me right away. I was prepared to pay for the lenses but was told these were samples they had in stock so there would be no charge. I was pretty surprised about that and was very impressed with how helpful and friendly they were with me. It had been almost 3 years since I last had an eye exam so I decided I'd make an appointment and get one since their service had been nothing short of stellar. I'm accustomed to making my eye appointments a few weeks in advance, so I was happy to hear that they could see me, a new patient, as soon as the very next day. The fees for the exam were very reasonable. I believe it came out to cost around $80. I don't have insurance coverage for optical appointments, and I pay out of pocket. Some eye doctors hesitate to take uninsured patients, but this place had no problem with that and got me in much quicker than I expected. The next day I arrived for my appointment and was seen right on time. There was no waiting and the staff was very organized and on point with getting patients in and out. The doctor was warm and personable and he seemed like he genuinely cared about seeing me and addressing all my questions. He suggested two different lenses to try and provided me with samples of both. After a week or so of trying them both I placed an order. My lenses arrived within the week which is much sooner than I usually wait for my contacts to arrive. They called me the day they arrived and pick up went smoothly. I like my new lenses and I can't say enough great things about this eye clinic. It is a top notch place with lovely people and I highly recommend it to anyone in need of contacts or glasses.

I have an autoimmune disease so a medication I'm on requires 6 month visits. I LOVE Irene, his receptionist. She always brightens my day. Dr. Razook is patient and listens to my concerns. He is very specific with his language to be sure I understand what he is saying. He is reassuring and has never failed to resolve my eye issues. I trust his expertise and now my husband sees him, too. He has wet macular degeneration. Dr. Razook sent him to Dr. Haivala who is also phenomenal. His practice has gotten much busier now. I asked if he was really kicking me out for cursing, and not AT him. He insisted that I needed to leave, so I did. He followed me and called me a Bitch. How unprofessional is that? Kicks me out for cursing and calls me a bitch. So, I wouldn't go to this guy. He is full of himself as he has art all over the place and thinks he's better than everyone else not in his income bracket. I will be contacting my insurance to make sure he isn't paid. No service, no pay. Don't go to this guy.

Had to have an eye specialist treat my right eye for waves on the macula and still my vision is worse than it was before the surgery. Glasses have not corrected the vision.

Firstly, the front staff are super cool and don't make you feel like this is a job they are doing. It seems like morale at this place is high and that makes me feel fantastic about giving them my business. The wait was not very long between any of the 'stations' I visited. In fact, I was given ample time to fill in my paperwork and pick out glasses and they called me in in record time. I felt like I was inconveniencing them because I was going slowly! The best part is that they were very understanding and were willing to accommodate any way. Finally, I did not get everyone's names but definitely Dr. Burkhart was genuine and super nice. Answered all of my questions and did not treat me in any way like I was dumb for not knowing. Her bedside manner is just amazing. Her entire staff from front desk, to scribe, to optical assistant (not sure if exact title) were just SO cool and relevant. They really leveled with you and smiled and conversed with you. Also the guys at FirstLook where you pick out glasses were phenomenal! Were very patient, knowledgeable, and tried their hardest to help in any way they could. With the being said, I came here for my annual exam and not one staff member greeted the person infront of me, me or the person behind me. When it was my turn to check in, the staff members continued to communicate amongst themselves, the staff member on the left looked up and said, "Oh, someone will be with you in a moment". Then the woman next to her finished her story and then looked back at me and said "And what can I help you with...". I explained that I was there to check in for an appointment and she quickly looked me up and then said "Yeah.... I see you here but wanted to tell you that your insurance will cover your visit and all but won't cover your hardware (contacts and/or glasses) so wild you like to still be seen today". I quickly questioned why no one explained that when the office staff personally called me the business day before to confirm my appointment and insurance. She explained that she couldn't answer that because she wasn't the one who called me.... Fast forward: I continued with my exam with Dr. Burkhart who was not only amazing and kind but the MA before seeing her was AMAZING and the MA who was in the room with the provider was AMAZING. I explained to them my frustration I had earlier about the insurance issue and they brought in the clinic's manager. The manager explained she had no idea what was going on insurance wise as this was the first she heard about it but would ask. She left and returned with a wild explanation as to why they were not accepting my insurance coverage. I just got off the phone with my insurance who called them to question the entire situation and they admitted they told me false information. Needless to say, this front office staff is a joke.

Excuse me,never used glasses. Dr Flax is the best, we had an emergency and he met us after hours and cared for my wife and that's the only reason why I use Norman Vision.
