She was incredibly kind and accommodating when I changed my mind mid-haircut from long layers to a different style. Throughout the process, she made sure to check in with me multiple times to confirm the length I wanted, which I really appreciated. Emily was also very patient and gentle while cutting my toddler's hair, which made the experience even better. The salon itself has a lovely, welcoming atmosphere as well. Having researched various salons on yelp I was frustrated that none would live up to the services of my previous stylist. One day I was out getting my nails done in Tropiano plaza and decided to check out the new salon next door, "Primp." I was drawn in my the sharp design. The decor is a perfect balance of modern and forties vintage. So cute! I was greeted by the owner Nicole, and though she was busy she offered to sit down with me for a consultation. After explaining my disposition she went through a detailed description of how she would do my cut and style, highlights and lowlights, and what conditioning treatments the salon offered. I scheduled an appointment for the following week and was amazed at the results! All of us blondes know how tricky it can be to get a healthy natural looking set of highlights. Nicole did a mixture of champagne and gold highlights with tea and subtle bronze lowlights. Having coarse hair she offered an affordable protein pack that left my locks silky. I even entrusted her to shape and wax my brows! This salon is top notch with lower prices than other high-end salons, I would suggest to anyone looking for a new salon to go on the website or stop into Primp for a visit!

She gave me a price and I returned about 39 minutes later to have the process done. My stylist Jen pulled up my profile and yes it still had my daughters color profile. The woman that initially helped me made me extremely uncomfortable with how she handled the situation with the stylist Jen. She openly corrected her in front of myself and other patrons and really threw off the video of the place. I get it..it's important to get the correct info in the computer..gotcha! But for crying out loud it's been 3 years since my daughter had her hair done there..maybe another hour would be o for the records. Thank goodness Jen was a delight! She listened to me..achieved the color and cut and just made the whole process amazing. The woman Nikki i found out is a manager and being a general manager in a customer service based business myself, the first rule is never to handle employee discipline in front of the client..especially when it wasn't warranted. She is easy to book appointments with and has a nice variety of availability. The salon itself is bright and nicely set up. There are two nail techs and several stations for stylists. They have two shampoo sinks (where you can also get waxing done) and two dryers. Shelby has done cuts, colors and full highlights for me and also done cuts for my kids. What I like is that she is honest about what will and won't work with colors and styles. If she thinks something won't last or that you won't be happy, she will tell you and suggest alternatives that might work better. She works efficiently but you never feel rushed and her prices are very affordable. I always look and feel amazing after a visit to Shelby. Highly recommend her!
