Danny came to my house to repair the garage door. He seemed honest, really soft spoken and kind. He…read moresaid I'll only charge you for what's needed to be repaired. After fixing our door he suggested we get the springs changed because they're old and it'll eventually snap. He gave me 2 prices. One for basic and one for heavy duty. We were hesitant as it was expensive. He said let me call my boss and see if you can get a discount. Literally minutes later he said we can get a deal with the heavy duty. We moved forward with it. When he was done he said we should also get a new motor. He can give me a discount as well. At this point my husband was working and I said I'm not going to make big financial decisions without him. Later, my husband went to inspect the work and saw that the springs used were not heavy duty, they're color coded. He called and asked for the manufacture of the springs to confirm durability which they refused to disclose. He was then quickly offered a partial refund. Due to this experience my husband left a negative review. We originally chose this company because of the positive yelp reviews and felt we wanted people, like us, to be forewarned. Now they are calling us from multiple phone numbers, came to my house while my husband was at work, and left us a threatening voicemail if we do not call them back. Needless to say, as a woman with small children, I do not appreciate the unexpected visitor. This harassment has been going on for days. They threatened to come with the police and lawyers because they're not going to service us anymore. I don't understand as the service has been done and paid. We will no longer work with you in the future. We've already looked into calling our local police department if this harassment continues and have saved our call logs, Google doorbell camera videos, truck license plate number, and voicemails. If we need to, we will contact the BBB. Under the Consumer Review Fairness Act (CFRA) this form of retaliation is illegal for businesses to behave as such. It's a shame instead of learning from their review and doing better for their customers they choose harassments and threats.

And just two weeks ago, he replaced the entire motor unit/rail on a very old garage door opener when it broke down. Last time Joel added some support "struts" to the door and this time in a completely unrelated repair he replaced the door spring which breaks over time with age. I was lucky to catch Joel between jobs and he came out within 1-2 hours. We have security gates and had good communication with him on text to get him in. He is a super nice man and efficient worker. He finished the repair in about 15-25 minutes. I did not have enough cash on me to pay him the exact amount, so he told me to forget the relatively small difference because we are repeat customers who will call him again as need--that's how a good businessman does business. Hopefully our old door will last a while longer, but if it needs another repair or to be replaced, then we will definitely call Joel. If you need help with your garage door, we definitely recommend you give Joel a try.

Directly too, not through another service person (nothing wrong with that I just like direct contact). The next day he was on time- he was honest and fair with his recommendations. He didn't try to push any services- just a simple and clear explanation. We booked him the next day/ and it was complete in 2 hours. Springs and motors and keypad (the whole system) were replaced with better quality materials. What a blessing to have your garage fixed so quickly as this is something we use everyday! I cannot recommend Kenji enough, it's very refreshing to have an honest repair without pressure and great communication. I feel better and safer knowing our garage can run without issues. I attached videos of my new garage system and I cannot be happier. Thank you!

The problem was resolved over the phone without requiring a technician to come to the property. I really appreciated the technician taking the time to help me troubleshoot the issue and saving me an unnecessary service call. Excellent customer service!

My garage door recently started making a loud screeching noise in the morning when I opened it. My husband insisted he could fix it. The noise got worse with each passing week. Finally he agreed for me to call Greg. I contacted Greg and he asked me to describe the problem. Greg immediately said he thought he knew what the issue was and made a suggestion. He said he was happy to schedule an appointment, but suggested we try his suggestion first. My husband followed Greg's instructions. To our surprise, the screeching noise was silenced. Greg puts his customers first and saved us a service call. I highly recommend Greg and Monrovia Garage Doors. I've kept his name and number all these years and when friends ask, I give them Greg's name and number. Thanks again!
