I was making a move from a large house to an apartment to accommodate my husband's sudden illness. Unfortunately my husband went into hospice before the move. MVM was simply amazing. We would NOT recommend MVM Moving! We contracted with them to move household items to storage. They couldn't move a cabinet, 3 men attempting for hours. The supervisor told us we wouldn't be charged for futile labor, yet we were charged. They also miscalculated other charges, not subtracting for dinner break for 6 movers. We were dismissed and 'ghosted' by MVM in attempting to resolve the disputed charges. We had to sue in Small Claims Court, winning partial judgment because the judge ruled the cabinet 'immovable' - wrong! We hired a second company, costing us additional money, who were able to move the cabinet in less than 20 minutes using 2 movers! We also had to file another claim for non-payment of court costs (part of judgment). After they have your payment, they will do anything to keep it and you will have to go to court to collect overcharges. read more

This was my first experience with a professional moving company and I was anxious, but once Clark and Dan showed up and explained what they would be doing and how they would do it, I thought it was too good to be true. But they did everything exactly as they had said and all I had to do was be available for any questions. They took such good care of my grandmothers antiques and wrapped and protected them the same way she would have done, so on behalf of my grandmother Thank you. It's tough to find Quality Customer Service these days, but Dan and Clark were exceptional, really above and beyond my expectations. Terrible experience when they damaged a $1200 table base. After answering several times about how the damage was caused by their movers. Those assigned to "help" to resolve the matter, were difficult to motivate to follow up for repair. Finally the manager offered $300, then ended up refunding $87 when I asked for a full refund. This was simply to cover my deductible or the professional repair of the damage they caused; after weeks of gaslighting me. Terrible professionalism when I started to get frustrated and upset, responding via email aggressively for "bending over backwards" for me after doing nothing. I would never use MVM again and would not recommend. No loyalty to customers like me who try to stay local and have used them several times. There were issues with past moves, relatively minor compared to what they did this time, so I didn't bother. I should have paid attention to the warning signs! My move was under $600, less than the value of the table. The manager was rude, childish and very unprofessional when I started to push for a resolution. The table was less than 6 months old, something I saved for and really debated about treating myself to and in one move, they ruined it and refused to manage their responsibility with any integrity. The challenge for a company isn't when they do the job they are hired for, which is expected, it's when they fall short and don't take responsibility for their mistake, or the damage they cause. The two young guys helping were very careful with our furniture and also with the walls and doorways, and stayed alert and careful for the entire 6 hours of busting their asses. I just used their service about five days ago. Over a month before, I requested their moving service on 10/21/22 to move from Sylvania, OH to Solon, OH. A supervisor showed up and left an estimate of ~$4000 for packing and moving with two 26 foot tracks involving 4 people. They instead showed up on 10/20/22 with 7 "moving specialists" who did not know how to pack. They told me that the job was 'light" because there weren't that much move-ready items. Still, they dragged numerous sensitive items and damaged in unrepairable conditions. More then half the cabinets are broken; TV scratched; barbecue grill bent; lamps broken. After three hours so, they asked two "professional packets" to help me pack. They packed garbages and disposed cooking oils along with tools and bedding materials, causing oil spill and tarnishing bedding materials. They even packed all my shoes and car keys. When I asked them to find these, they said that these were buried by boxes and could not be retrieved. Luckily, I left a key in one of our cars which I could use to drive to a new house. Still, once I found my keys in the packed boxes next day, I had to drive all the way back (120 miles each way) to my old house to move my cars to our new house. All the boxes they packed either had no labels or had some illegible misspelled writings. They crammed boxes, exposed cloths and beddings on the floor of the garage along with boxes with oil spill. They jammed audio system in a box without any bubbles, causing serious scratches. The final bill was $6435.75. Now I am left with broken furnitures and appliances and oil spilled cloths and bedding materials. The person who came to install TV noticed a number of scratches on TV screen. I would like to ask MVM what makes them think that all my properties and my family could be treated as garbages. Who packs garbages and trashes in moving boxes? You do not think I would need to wear shoes to go outside and need to drive my cars to a new house? I have moved 7 more times in my life, and this is the absolutely worst company. 4-5 star review of this company is fishy and manipulative. read more

MVM only gets two stars because they were affordable. The two movers we had were very accommodating the day off, but broke several things and didn't reassemble anything properly. After finding bolts and washers on the floor, we realized that our toddlers bed was not reassembled properly. They only bolted opposite ends and set one corner ON TOP of the bolt. It's just our toddlers bed, who needs it to be safe?? Our new dining room table was also not reassembled properly. Our master bed came apart mid-sleep because the headboard wasn't even attached to the bed. Broken: a mirror, our neighbors satellite dish, the hall light switch (electrical) and several large dents/nicks in walls. It was embarrassing how many gauges we were forced to leave the new owners thanks to MVM. The movers were obviously in a rush. They need to put themselves in our shoes...those are our memories, our safety...I wish they would've respected that. We've moved out of the area, but if we hadn't, we wouldn't use them again. read more

I made a few calls to other places but this was the first to pick up the phone. Their administrative assistant made a wonderful first impression! She was courteous, well spoken, and willing to be flexible to help work my move into a convenient time slot. The two men that came to help me move were young, fit, and respectful. It was 100 degrees that day but they still worked continuously and quickly until the job was done. The price was very reasonable, especially for how fast these two were. There is a two hour minimum charge and the hourly rate is $79 for two men. If you have an upcoming move, I highly recommend Maumee Valley Movers! I couldn't be happier with my experience. read more

Listen, think, solve the problem. These are young, intelligent guys and gal, starting a new location, ready to hustle. I bought a dining table base from Furniture Row for my rose quartz table top. Furniture Row promised to help me put the the table top on the base. I made 3 appointments, but failed to show and I gave up on them. The table top is solid quartz and I'd guess 350-400 lbs. I called several movers but they would quote around $400-$500, a minimum 2 hours truck and two or three movers. They were treating it as a move. I talked to the dispatcher at Maumee Valley Movers and explained. She looked at the schedule, found a crew finishing a move not too far away and had them stop by on the way back to the office. They charged me under $100, I can't remember exactly because I was so happy just to have my dining room table. read more

I hired these guys to load my UPack truck based on these Yelp reviews and I regret it. I should have looked at the "not recommended" reviews to get the full story. I was thrilled they had same-week availability, but I didn't ask myself why. They started off loading everything properly, toward the front of the truck, with the right weight distribution and slope. But soon they gave up and just started tossing things in the truck. They loaded my antique dining table without any blankets and stacked a bunch of boxes on it. I had to keep asking them to wrap things in the blankets I provided. There were huge holes between boxes that went all the way down to the floor. We had to rearrange the entire contents of the truck which cost us a ton of hours. Ultimately UPack had to come pick the truck up from us at the scheduled time, so we ended up with stuff that never got loaded in and we had to sell and give away that stuff at the last minute. It was all super stressful (and now we don't have a couch or a kitchen table). Finally they left a bunch of dings and dents in the plaster in the stairwell of our hundred year old home. I felt awful leaving that for the new owners but we didn't have time to fix it before we left town. I hired loaders to reduce stress but they just made things worse and cost us more time, money, and effort. Based on the reviews I really expected more. Also I tipped each guy $50 before I realized they had stopped loading properly and put everything in so precariously. If I could take that money back I would. Update after 2 weeks of unpacking: many chipped dishes, scratches on furniture. The first day packers were basically incompetent: mixing glass with metal, inadequate protection for large bowls (ever heard of horizontal forces?!), etc. Verdict from my parents: wouldn't use them again. In the end the move of my parents house from OH to NY was completed and roughly on time, but I'm taking a star off for the following reasons: - We had 3 movers come in for estimate. The guy from MVM did not take *any* notes and ended up severely underestimating the amount of content needed to be packed. - The move was broken into 4 days: packing, loading, transport, unloading. The 4-men crew that showed the first day a) ran out of boxes and didn't want us to provide them with more, even though I was standing on line at Lowe's buying other stuff at the time, b) put books into big boxes making them difficult to lift and c) did not complete packing when they left at 3:30. - The loading day (another 4-men crew) was spent half packing, half loading and they ended up pulling two extra guys to help with packing - that's how much the first crew left undone. We had a hard stop at 5. - Packers broke a vase when leaving the first day and a dining table arrived scratched. The second day crew lead by James and Kevin did an amazing job pulling it all together, with one of their guys, Justin, basically working non-stop (he was *amazing* - polite and with an infectious attitude - nothing left unpacked by the first day crew fazed him - he just went on with the job). He didn't even stop for lunch. We liked hiring a local business and we know people who have used MVM for a similar move from OH to NY. But, they need to shape up their estimation and packing departments, because if it wasn't for my brother and I being there and pushing, it would not have happened. I'd use them again in a heartbeat, but if the same guy showed up for an estimate I'd ask for a different one. MWM is different from other moves in that they estimate by time, not by pounds. 10-15% off the estimate in either direction seems reasonable, but to be off by a day of packing that's a lot. They were reasonable and acknowledged that mistake in the final tally, so that's why they get 4 stars, not 3. read more

We had issues from start to finish. One of our movers was training, both of our movers did not work quickly and damage occurred to several of our items moved. Both movers and our truck driver were unprofessional, our truck driver smoked during the majority of the job and soiled bathrooms at both our new and old house. I've moved 18 times around the country in 9 years for work, because that's just the way my industry works. I used them based on their ratings and comments. I was not very impressed compared to other moves. The 2 guys that did the move damaged a few items and walls. They left a number of scratches around the house, stained my couch by rolling it on it's side, on the ground without protection, and did a mostly half assed job. Luckily, my couch was under warranty and I got it redone. However, the walls and other items needed to be repaired by me. I love to support local businesses and trust they will do a good job, but I wasn't impressed here. Also, I would have challenged the extra half hour they took and charged me when they wanted to go on break. If another company wasn't paying for the move, I would have been more vocal. The very best experience ever! Super white glove treatment! I had a big picnic for the guys and gave them serval opportunities to take a break. One of the guys (sweet African American young man) found my 14kt gold earrings my sister gave me and rushed them to me. He got a big reward for that, a Benjamin and a pure leather overstuffed sofa I paid $1000 for for free. April 13, 2019, 2 young men came to help me load my belongings from my condo into my 2 PODS. I basically loaded one POD with my boxes and plastic tubs while they loaded the other with my furniture. They helped me load my POD at the end, with the heavier items. Very nice young men and seemingly worked pretty hard. I had a large stack of blankets for them to use. At the end when there was 1-2 left, they said they didn't need them. When unloading the PODS, I found my deceased sister's book shelves gashed in the front of the top. My hutch had scratches on it too, on the front and top. My cream chaise had rust color on the top back, as it was pushed up against the back of an older piece of wooden furniture and the color rubbed off. I was upset about all of this and decided to deal with it. When unloaders (at my new home) tried to assemble my bed, I found everything needed except the legs. Nowhere to be found. The bed is an expensive adjustable bed. I gave the MVM loaders a small box for the parts as they disassembled it. I looked in all the drawers of the bedroom furniture and found some of the items for the bed, which was a reasonable place for them to be placed. I waited and went through every single box I had, and still no legs. I tried to order from the bed company with no success. I tried to locate them on Amazon.com and discovered they were $49.99 for 4 legs; I need 8. And, the Amazon legs did not fit my adjustable bed. This is when I decided that I needed to warn others of the unnecessary expenses incurred simply because the MVM loaders did not pay attention to some rather basic details. Very disappointed at the additional efforts and money required to fix the damage done by MVM. read more

Very good experience. Winston and Aaron were my movers and did a great job. Very professional guys and very efficient and fast, yet careful and arrived right on time. I was nervous about how to arrange my furniture at my new place and they gave me a couple suggestions and the place looks great and everything fits fine. I had originally planned on using Two Men and Truck but found out they wouldn't disconnect or connect appliances and Maumee said it wasn't an issue. They were only $10 an hour more than Two Men and had a lot better ratings and well worth the price difference even if you don't have appliances. I had an newer expensive washer and dryer at my old place I wanted move and donated the set at my new place to my church. No issues with them handling the disconnecting of the machines at either place and reconnecting them at the new place. I found out that there were screws that should have been left by the installers for the washing machine to keep the drum in place that I wouldn't have known about if I would have done the machine disconnect myself. Fortunately Lowe's was just down the street and I was able to drive there and have them give me a set while they finished moving other stuff so that saved me possible damage to the washing machine. I also found out the outlet in my new place was different than the one in my old place so I was able to swap the cords on the machines, if I would have done the install myself I wouldn't have caught it until after the other machines were gone so it saved me some time and money there as well. If I have to move again I will definitely call Maumee Valley. Well worth it. read more
