First and last time I will ever use a moving company. Not only were they 2 days late for pick up they were then 3 days late for delivery. They tried to blame it on a storm as if they don't have other drivers. The drivers were at least mostly professional. The helpers they use are random locals they pay cash out of pocket. There was no proactive communication on their part whatsoever, I had to be the one making phone calls constantly just to find out if they were even coming. It got to the point I thought it was a fake company and I was being scammed. That's how bad this was. On top of all of that, they still delivered damaged goods, they damaged at least half (4) of my plastic totes. Even upon delivery they're dropping my things and damaging items. I shouldn't have to pay a dime when they can't even do their job. They might be worth $100, not a dime more. read more

Terrible Company, Do Not Use This was one of the worst moving experiences of my life. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from Interstate Moving Relocation Group / Glass City Movers. We paid for a premium move from Pittsburgh to Chicago, and what we got was a total mess. One mover showed up exhausted before they even started, sat on the floor, and could barely work. They dropped multiple items right in front of us, packed things carelessly, and broke several belongings. Our TV stand was shoved so hard onto the truck that the leg snapped off and it's now trash. A monitor was cracked, a ceramic piece was destroyed, and our dining table was stained because they didn't protect it right. It got worse. One mover told us they couldn't work with their partner and weren't on speaking terms. At delivery, they brought some random guy (not an employee) to help unload and paid him in cash at the loading dock. That's how unprofessional this company is. And after all this? They've ghosted us for over a month and a half. Every time I call, they say the owner, John Pastrikos, "isn't in" and "will call tomorrow." He never does. They offered a joke of a payout based on the lowest possible liability, ignoring that this was pure negligence on their part. This company is lazy, careless, and dishonest. They damage your stuff, refuse to take responsibility, and disappear when there's a problem. Do not trust them with your move. Ever. read more

The WORST moving company we have ever used! My daughter was moving from Charlotte to the metro Detroit area. She had the contents of a one bedroom apartment. To make a long story short, they literally RUINED MOST OF HER BELONGINGS. She has HOLES in her wooden furniture and every single box that was packed is either DENTED or CRUSHED. I am firmly convinced that the truck was in an accident but they won't admit it. They said her truck broke down so they had to transfer everything to a new truck. They are LYING! I have asked for a copy of the dash cam and they won't provide it. She paid $2,200 for the move and most of her furniture is unusable. Even the driver that delivered everything said "this is embarrassing" when he saw the condition of her belongings. The owner, John Patrikos said her claim was worth a refund of $326. That is insulting! They took advantage of a 25 yr. old girl that trusted them. We are left now with filing a suit against them and we will! They are a HORRIBLE, UNPROFFESIONAL company. My older parents were in over their heads with a move & They came in and were really helpful. The owner even came out to inspect the situation & assist. Totally appreciate this guy's! And don't forget to tip a movers. I also know they're good because we tried to work with another moving company & had a bad experience. HORRIBLE!!! Ruined my mattress when they stored it in a leaking warehouse. HUGE stain on it! It was wrapped in plastic when they took it, but the plastic was open when the truck showed up. Lots of broken/missing items. Missing $500 coffee table top. Destroyed a dresser with their 2 wheel cart or something. End table leg broken off, Coffee table damaged and is now wobbly. Power cord to my $3000 reclining sofa missing, so now it's just a sofa. They didn't even know where the cord was. They just said they think they saw it in a box somewhere. WTF??? I could go on, but you get the idea. They don't return emails, but are more than happy to overcharge you for what little they do. I have over $2000 in damages that they won't even respond to. The guys who delivered my things were polite, but lazy. I told them to read the boxes so they would know what room to put them in. They completely ignored my instructions and just dropped them where ever they could find room. So I've been left with having to move a ton of boxes to the rooms THEY were supposed to put them in. They were obviously in a hurry to get out of here. They even had the nerve to hint at a tip. Seriously? Not after the horrible service you just gave me! I understand that things can get damaged in a move, but this is totally unacceptable! Unprofessional and unethical. Own up to what you guys did and make it right! I rented a POS U-haul (same size as their truck) and got my items here with next to no damage. I think I had a broken casserole dish so far while unpacking. If I can get things moved with little damage, why can't they??? They're SUPPOSED to be PROFESSIONALS!!!! So, if you don't give a rat's patoot about the condition of your belongings when they arrive, go ahead and roll the dice on theses guys. But you can't say you haven't been warned. Horrendous experience. I wish I had seen these reviews prior to booking, but as others stated, Nicole was very attentive in the beginning, assuring me we would be taken care of and I had her as a point of contact during the move for any issues. Similar to others, the communication and organization was off from the beginning. Was told by Nicole our cross-state move would likely take 2 days, loading the truck partially on day 1, staying somewhere secure overnight, coming back next day to finish and drive to destination, so I planned to drive up to the destination in day 2, able to easily arrive before the movers did to unload. Upon arrival on day 1 we're told by Zach that no, we're doing it all today and starting the drive tonight. After scrambling to pack remaining items, (we thankfully packed everything ourselves) we're also told certain items cannot be transported as is (ex. Peloton screen needs to be off before transporting) which we were not told in advance. Crew of 3 at our first home, Zach being a direct rep from the company, other two hired by him. "Fragile" items didn't exist, we saw them flipping and slamming boxes onto dolleys, scraping our furniture across our walls, and disassembling furniture but not keeping track of all parts or screws, which I only found after they had left. Left a mess in our home, water bottles left around the house, shrink wrap and cardboard tubes we had to clean up. One hired mover tried to leave before the job was done, leading to a yelling altercation in our garage. Zach noted at 5pm on day 1 he would start the drive that night and call us with arrival timing for next day, but that worst case, they may not deliver until 2 days from day 1 (which made no sense, the distance from first house to destination house is 5 1/2 hours, 7 at most considering their stops at weigh stations). We're then told a couple hours later that they will be to the new home at 10am the next morning. We pushed back as we hadn't even finished cleaning their mess from the first home, it's a 5 1/2 hour drive and we have 3 animals to consider. It did get moved to a 12pm delivery, but "that's the latest we'll deliver", though they noted they could show up to deliver as late as 2 days from the loading date. I called Nicole to express our frustration with the entire process and the last minute communication of delivery, and she was zero help. Didn't listen, repeatedly talked over me and kept blaming me for the situation, saying it was on me for telling her my move date. Unloading at new house was chaos - Zach was there but two entirely new people showed up to unload and reassemble, with zero communication between teams, leaving things misassembled, or unassembled entirely, but made to look assembled. Our master bed frame for example was completely unscrewed, though the mattress was put on top to make it appear assembled. We only discovered when laying on it and it pitching forward that they did not put it together. We asked Zach where the screws were for furniture, he has an attitude and said someone in the crew must have them (they didn't). One of the new movers had an attitude, saying things like "was this assembled at the last place? If not, i'm not assembling it!" And was rushing getting things in carelessly to try and get to another job. This whole experience was absolutely awful. We have talked to John in "customer service" filed a claim, 2 weeks later and no response or reparations. read more

Trying to help an older couple move out of state, one with major health issues. Nicole acts soooo honest and trustworthy. It's all lies. There were supposed to be several guys coming to pack the house and load the truck. First day no one came until late in the afternoon and it was one guy that really didn't know how to pack anything, moving very slowly. The second day, first guy arrived late, and kept hearing more guys were coming. No one else came. They didn't have supplies. They didn't have the proper boxes. They had short wardrobe boxes versus tall ones because that's what the owner bought which made packing clothes very hard. Finally, the third day another guy came with another truck but this guy has a broken ankle and can barely move. Fourth day the first two guys came later than agreed and some new guy that they hired as a temp. Because of their incompetence with broken down trucks, not enough moving blankets, not people that were healthy and could move. It took a lot longer than it should have. The house was properly prepped. I was there helping move things so that it would make movers easy. I actually packed 34 boxes myself because otherwise we wouldn't get done. And the movers actually said so. Overstated without my help there's no way that they would have been done that day or the next. I left numerous messages for the owner to call because this whole job should have been properly discounted but the owner would never call. Run far away. read more

We moved from Virginia to Tennessee. The initial moving/pack up crew were great. I bought them pizza and drinks. The problem started when I was promised a particular delivery date but it was pushed back one day, which was not so bad, but they were late. The same guys that packed up my home in Virginia were the same one who unpacked the truck in Tennessee. It was a completely different experience. They were crabby, put holes in the walls, half assembled the furniture and scratched the floors. They put all the boxes in one room and not where they belonged. They busted boxes and plastic containers and stacked heavy boxes on top of light boxes. It was a nightmare. While I understand movers can be overworked, this is not the fault of a customer. Worse than this was the customer service. I had to file a claim and I attached pictures. I had to keep calling to get assistance. I have not received any help. John was supposed to contact certain people and he did not. This weekend will make 3 months since I filed the claim. Every time I call, John is not in the office and he never calls back. This is literally the worst move I have ever had and I will not ever use this company again. read more

I worked through Eagle Movers who contracted the move to Glass City. There were problems from the start. I was supposed to receive 3 days notice of the pickup date. I called the number Eagle gave me every day but was never told when my pickup date would be. In fact, I left messages for the dispatch who never once called me back. Instead, I received a call from the driver on the day of the pickup that they would be arriving in an hour. When I complained I was informed that I had been called, it was logged in by their employee. But my phone tracks all my calls and there were no calls and no messages left until the morning of the pickup. Luckily I was available. The crew that came were nice. They packed everything carefully, but in the process used almost $2000 more in materials than my estimate. I don't know why the estimate was so far off, I did not add any items between the estimate and the move. At that point though, you have no choice but to accept. The driver was apparently supposed to leave paper work with me, but did not. The delivery was even worse. Again I was supposed to get advance notice but did not. I callled every day trying to find out when my stuff would be dropped off. I was told it was in transit and I would be called one day in advance. I was not. I got a call at 9:30 in the morning that the delivery would be at noon. I was not so lucky this time. When I told them again I had not been called, I was told that I was called, even though my phone again recorded nothing. No missed calls, no messages. At delivery, the driver showed up. He was supposed to meet a local crew. They were a no show. They found a single person to help him, so the unload took all day for just two people. Worse, they had disassembled our storage bed on pickup, but lost the several of the legs and all the hardware, and so were not able to put it back together. It is in pieces in the Master Bedroom. I dont know how we will be able to get the parts, its seven years old, so the whole set may be useless. In a sentence, uncommunicative, disorganized, unreliable, unprofessional, expensive. Would never use either Eagle or Glass City again. read more

I recently moved from OH to PA for a job relocation. For the process I used Colonial Van Lines, who contracted the move out to Glass City. My experience with Colonial was terrible, and they only received 1 star from me. But I wanted to make sure I gave Glass City their credit. Both pickup and delivery were great. The movers were a pleasure to work with both times. The only reason I am giving 4 stars rather than 5, is because my delivery was 7 days later than I was told. BUT that date was given to me by Colonial, and not directly from Glass City, so I have a feeling that Glass City was not the issue in this situation, but cannot confirm. Either way, I have decided that in the future, based on my experience with them, I would gladly contact Glass city directly rather than using Colonial as a middle man. read more

If I could give them a 0, I would. WORST company around. My experience with them was a disaster from beginning to end! They did not show up and day of move and never even bothered to call. I called them and they had someone come the next day. They didn't show up until 3pm and it took them until 9 pm to finish. I had to pay for a hotel room because it was so late. One of the movers had an extremely bad attitude and was very careless. I sold my house so I needed to move on assigned date. I hired them to pack everything for me and move. That was a bad idea. Much of my furniture was ruined, which was mostly antique or vintage. Boxes were packed and stacked incorrectly and also every one was crushed. Very sad. read more

Worst movers you can hire. Charges me around 650 to load 14 linear feet of a trailer. 4 hours of work. While loading they broke the stove top which costs around 350$. One was doing 70% of the work and the skinny guy was just complaining. They spent more than an hour complaining and commuting and I was charged 160$ an hour. While unloading I hired a different company and they properly unloaded all the stuff 20 meters apart within just two hours!!!! I must say unloading was much more difficult than loading. Glass City has helped me move 4 times now. The first 3 experiences were wonderful, and it was a no brainer to continue contacting them for help. However, the 4th time was a nightmare. The movers were supposed to arrive between 9-930, and when they weren't there by 10 without any contact, I called. No answer multiple times. I left a message. Finally, near 10:30-11, I received a call saying they would be heading my way around 12-12:30. I told them that was fine, but what happened to my original time? The guy told me, "sorry bro, I didn't schedule it I just do what they tell me." Unprofessional, but not a big deal. Certainly not enough to complain on Yelp. The movers arrived around 12:30 after failing to locate my location multiple times. I gave them my correct address and even spelled it for them. I ended up giving them the address to a nearby restaurant, where I would direct them from there. When they finally got here, they told me I spelled my address wrong, and they would have found it if that wasn't the case. The funny thing about that was that they misspelled the ENTIRE address, not just one letter. Additionally, they spelled the address wrong to the restaurant which was located on one of Toledo's main streets. They finally started working, and one of the workers was great. He was doing 75% of the work while the other kid (tall, skinny, long hair, leg tattoo) complained the whole time about the heat, what they had to move, and how many stops there were. As they were wrapping up the first location, the kid with long hair told me they couldn't move anything else from the apartment. The other guy told me that they absolutely could, and he didn't know why he would tell me that. They told me they would take a 5 minute break of which I would not be charged for, and then they would continue on to the next location. We left at the same time, but for some reason, the same route that took me 15 minutes to get to took them 50 MINUTES. No courtesy call, no updates as to why, nothing. Fast forward a couple hours. The long haired kid has continued to complain the whole time. Everything is wrapping up. I look at my entertainment center and I'm missing a handle. I ask them what happened and they said they didn't know. Still not a big deal. I am extremely laid back and don't handle confrontation particularly well when it is someone doing me a favor. I let it go. They charge me an OUTRAGEOUS fee for moving. This was by far the most I was ever charged, and again, I've moved all the same stuff now 4 times. It took way longer this time, and was over $260 more than I have ever paid. On top of that, I gave each driver a nice tip. I think that the less than ideal situation was over. Before moving, I always empty out all my drawers to make it lighter for the movers to carry. This time, I left two drawers with stuff in them: one with t-shirts, and one with 6 bottles of cologne. When I went to open the drawer, I noticed There were only 3 bottles of cologne. This was weird because I hadn't touched anything. I have now opened every box and every drawer that I own, and there is nothing. They straight up robbed me of 2-3 bottles of cologne. Perhaps it is my fault for leaving it there and trusting Glass City Movers, but since the previous times have gone so well, I felt more than safe leaving this in the drawer. Long post, but in conclusion, I will never use Glass City Movers again. This experience was bad from start to finish, and the kid with long hair and leg tats is a horrible representation for your company. read more

I've waited months to write this review because I wasn't sure it would do any good - but finally decided that at least others could be warned and they won't experience the same outcome as we did. Many of our items were damaged or missing during our move. When unloading at our new home a computer desk was broken. Someone in the office told the guys to tell us that it would be replaced because it was clearly their fault. A large mirror which was left to me by my mom was broken and an oil painting was torn. Parts of my antiques were broken or dented, along with new dents and scratches in other furniture. Some of these items can't be replaced. Also, kitchen items are missing, along with other miscellaneous items. We didn't buy extra insurance because we "assumed" that our property would be treated professionally and everything would arrive safely at our new home. That didn't happen. The total amount of money offered by them wasn't even enough to replace the computer desk which was to be REPLACED not given a percentage. If you have the choice, we recommend that you DO NOT use Glass City Movers. read more

I can't say enough about this company. From working with Nicole in the office to schedule the move, to having Juan, Trey, and John here packing and loading the trucks. Everyone is friendly and does an outstanding job. The guys arrived to do a 9000 lb job at 2:15 pm. We actually did three moves with Glass City. This update is a move we did for my dad. All the excellent customer service, planning and advise we received from Nicole was superior. For my dad, we moved some items to storage with them, and then a big final move after the house sold. On the day of the big move they scheduled another before ours which ran long. They showed up at the end of their shift and had to come back the next day to finish the move. This caused my dad a big inconvenience! When the truck arrived all the items that were retrieved from storage were not ours. All the items that were moved once he sold his house were there and the guys did a nice job of moving his items with care. Once they finished, we called the main office to let them know half the truck were not our items. I spoke to John the owner who apologized, said he would find our items and call back to confirm they were found and when they would be delivered. I expected a call in an hour or two once they uncovered where our items were. After a WEEK we did not receive a call. WE had to call and ask for a status update. This was incredibly disappointing. It seemed as if they went about their business and forgot our move was unfinished. I can confirm this because another employee called to ask us to do a survey and do a review!! When we said we were still waiting for our items he said he knew nothing about this and would check. After two weeks we were scheduled for a delivery and received our missing items. There is a definite disconnect and lack of communication about orders, dates, locations and communications between departments and personnel. John is very difficult to work with and lacks the customer service and care required for his position to grow or maintain his business. Nicole can only do so much to carry the good natured efficient customer service. The movers for all three moves were excellent but when there was a problem you could tell they feared being blamed and made the scapegoat. John needs to realize, he can not compete on price alone and needs to be able to deliver the full package from start to finish, This includes problem resolution and customer service. read more

We hired Glass City Movers to move our household belongings from W BA to their warehouse storage in Toledo, Ohio in 2021. They arrived several hours late then proceeded to inform me they were not told there would be so many boxes and bins, and they did not think all our belongings would fit in both their trucks. One worker indicated I should have known the month before how many boxes and bins I had...I had told their customer service person it would be about 90 to 100 when I received the estimated cost, but they claimed they were told 50, I then asked if they were packing my lamps and pictures and they said they had no packing materials to do so and I would have to purchase and pack them myself, even though I had been assured in my estimate that they would do so. In hindsight it is better I did the packing myself, otherwise more would have been broken or damaged. I have a china cabinet that is 50 plus years old that has three glass shelves. I had moved this cabinet 4 times in the past and never a broken shelf. One of their workers came to me and asked if he could use one of my boxes for the glass shelves. It turned out that this very irresponsible individual took all 3 shelves and placed them inside the folded cardboard box and taped up the ends. None of the shelves were wrapped in bubble wrap and I ended up with two shelves completely broken. Replacement cost is approx $300. I also was assured that our things would be stored in an environmentally controlled warehouse that was heated and air conditioned. Upon removal from their warehouse in 2022, approx 11 months later, the new moving company took photos of our belongings as they were being moved out. There was what appeared to be black mold on one wall our bins were stacked against. Our couch was filthy dirty (2 yrs old), our temper pedic mattress was filthy and stained. Numerous bins were cracked/broken. Ipon delivery of our items, I found mouse droppings throughout boxes and bins. When I confronted John, the manager, and shared photos, he denied it all claiming it must have all occurred by the other movers and they must have had our things stored in a watehouse where these damages occurred. However, our items and furniture arrived within the 10 days as promised by the other company. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY EVER!! I would have posted this review sooner but have been going round and round in trying to file a claim against both moving companies, to no avail! read more

I am in majority with a few of the reviewers that if I could not issue a star for the rating I wouldn't! I felt everyone's frustration with this company. They showed up in time! The only thing that they did right. I was also told that they wouldn't start charging us until they got to our place and started working. That was untrue! They charged us from the time they left their office which is WAAAY over on the West End and we are in Oregon. We literally moved around the corner from one apartment complex to another. If we weren't old and crippled we could have walked our stuff to our new place and got it done faster. It seems (after reading most of the reviews) that the people that gave them 5 stars didn't have the same two morons that we had. They came in and the older guy just wanted to stand around and run his mouth and the clock was ticking. The first thing that happened was that the kid dumped all of my clothes (yes! All of them) in the middle of the parking lot because he tried to run up the ramp forward with the hand truck instead of walking it up pulling it. They told us 3 hours and it's only a one bdrm apartment, but it took them at least 3.5 hours when it should have been less than the 3. Like I said, RIGHT. AROUND. THE. CORNER. They also said that they refused to move a bunch of stuff because they were "uncomfortable" moving it. They why work for a moving company or own one if you're going to pick and choose what you want to move? That's BS! They also blocked in our kitchen and living room in our new place by piling everything (mostly the kitchen) in there. There was a bedroom too! We had to climb over stuff to get in here to get to stuff. The bill was ridiculous! Now to be honest this was our first time hiring movers, but $350 to move us literally around the corner in the same block is f**king ridiculous! I should have saved $300 and bought beer and or pizza for friends and probably would have gotten done more efficiently and with more finesse. I had to wait a while before I wrote this because I was so angry and felt like we were taken for an expensive ride. I still feel robbed, but I learned a very valuable lesson and will not let it happen again. Bottom line, you look for cheap you're going to get cheap and it may cost you in the long run. I reluctantly used this moving company after reading a few reviews that were not favorable. I wish I had followed my instincts and used another service. However, after a few phone calls with Nicole I decided to go forward. She was attentive and returned my phone calls, etc. If my first few calls and experience with Nicole was not favorable I would have rated Glass City Movers 0. I selected a date to schedule the move. Come to find out the date was a window and of course the actual date I requested was not the first date of the window but the last date. So if you decide to use them please know if given a window of (example 10/28 - 10/30, you better error on the later date which is what happened to me) The movers who showed up to move my things and to help pack some of the bigger items, were late. There were only two guys. The main driver/mover complained the entire time. They were extremely slow and it was a frustrating process. I was told upon pick up and storage of my items (moving out of state) I was required to provide a Cashier's check for a portion. I had given a deposit previously to book the appointment but was allowed to pay the deposit with a credit card. Not sure why a Cashiers check was required but I paid it (this will be important later) I was able to find a residence earlier than I initially planned for. My things were going to be stored until March. I called to schedule my things to be delivered on 11/27 (again I had to deal with a window for scheduling but in this instance it did work out) However a few days prior I called the office to get an accurate total for what was due when my things were to be delivered. I was told the drivers will have your total. Why would you wait to give someone the total and what if the amount is wrong? Well of course the total was wrong when they showed up and by $1500, which was the Cashier's Check I paid when they picked up my things. So not sure why there was no record of this. If I couldn't come up with proof, they drivers were going to leave without giving me my things. After many frantic phone calls and stressful filled 45 minutes, it was resolved. Now I will say the guys who delivered my things were helpful and assembled my things and helped place furniture where I needed them to. However, when they were finished there were things that were not on the truck. They noted that my sofa cushions were missing. And after they left and I began going through things I was missing other things. I called the office to follow up and was told to fill out a complaint on the website. The website was incomplete in helping to resolve the issues. Also, I received another customers box. So if the box count was off, that would make sense why I'm missing some things. I tried to help identify the contents of the persons stuff I have and no one has gotten back to me regarding that. So if you have taken the time to read this very long review....if you don't want your things missing and want the best in service with you already stressful move, I would suggest you do not use Glass City Movers in Toledo Ohio. I've moved out of state on a few occasions and those movers utilized a process of labeling with numbers/stickers on your boxes/furniture. That should have been a red flag and I will know in the future to inquire about the labeling process to avoid things missing and not being able to help identify. read more

I would give a 0 if I could. Save your money and use another company. We moved from IN to FL in 12/2019 (I'm still bitter at this experience). While I understand that a large move is not cheap, this company intentionally did not deliver our stuff until they could capitalize off another mover. So basically, they waited until they had someone moving from FL to the mid-west before they would deliver our stuff. I was livid and they didn't care. They kept our stuff in their storage for another month (which made it stay there past the prepaid cost). This costs me ~$5000 more than the original quoted and estimated cost (once they picked up my stuff in IN). I spoke to the mngr who basically said that if we wanted our stuff, then we needed to pay the movers or they wouldn't unload our stuff. Of course we paid, as we had been sleeping on the floor for more than 1 month in our new home. While we didn't have our stuff, we had to buy all new pots and pans to cook, and many more things had to be purchased just to live day to day. Worst experience EVER. DO NOT USE THEM! read more

Of all the moving places that I called, this place seemed to be the most reasonable. They do charge extra to move a big screen TV. They did an ok job but they did break one of my lamps and there was a scratch on bed frame. When we signed on with them, they had said that if anything was broken or not in the condition that it was supposed to be in, we could call and get money back. I called a couple times but I couldn't get an answer from them. They said they had to talk to the guys who moved my stuff but they never returned my phone call. After a while, I stopped calling because it wasn't worth all the trouble. All in all, if you're looking for cheap mover (compared to other places) this place fits the bill. But beware that you get what you pay for. read more

I wish I could give less than 1 star, because these guys were useless. They left us in the lurch on the day we NEEDED to move. They arrived timely, I'll give them that, but when they walked through the house so we could show them what needed to be moved, they complained that we weren't "organized enough" and that they thought everything would be "all together". They told us they "weren't comfortable doing the move today", because they didn't want to have to walk around a bunch of things (which we were already in the process of loading into our van), and wanted to come back the next day. Not an hour later, but a whole day! We cancelled altogether, and got a UHaul to do the move ourselves. It took a little longer, and we were tired, but dealing with these guys really reinforced the old adage that if you want it done right - or AT ALL - you really need to do it yourself. read more

I wish I could give them 0 stars but unfortunately I had to give at least one post this. Absolutely horrible company for long distance moving!! Their customer service is horrible and very rude. First of all they do not provide any kind of moving materials, straps, or pads. So pretty much you are just paying for their muscles... I wish we would have just asked our friends, things would have been way better! They did not pack our trailer appropriately which we had a lot of damages and issues. I noticed a problem when I saw how they were packing it and I asked them to correct it which they took an attitude after that the rest of the time. Do they not realize that this is our belongings and we are paying them to do this?? It's called your job and you should do it correctly. Once I called the manager after our stuff arrived he was very rude and inconsiderate. We have reported them to their contacting company and to the BBB which is in progress. Please take it from me to not hire them for your movers. You will be very disappointed and not happy. I have worked hard for my money to buy my items for my house and my life. These people do not care and just through stuff in the trailer however they want. I wrapped all of our stuff incredibly well and spent $200 on all the packing materials and things still got broke and damaged. That says a lot for these people!! We only had 2 weeks to move and with work, I had no time to find a good moving company, so I left it up to my fiancé which was a mistake. So please research and invest time in finding the right movers for you. Update: As you can see from their response, they do not know how to read and get all the information accurate. If they did, they would know that I had provided pads, straps and blankets, everything they needed to protect my belongings. And yes.... I paid them $1,000 to load half of the truck while I did the rest??? Are you kidding me? Please everyone do not trust this company they are liars and do not care about how they pack stuff or what gets damaged! read more

Glass City delivered a mattress and foundation for us from Saatva Mattress Co. I could not have been more pleased. The gentlemen were professional and courteous. They were here at the time promised and did call to confirm delivery time. I was impressed. Thank you Glass City. read more

Kane and Nick helped us move and we're excellent! They were incredibly fast, took great care of all our large furniture items, and were pleasant/motivated the entire time! I was nervous that the company may not be sending movers after calling Glass City multiple times during the week leading up to moving date for a small change. My husband and I left 4-5 voicemails without a return call. However, Kane and Nick were extremely communicative on the day of (even as they made their trip to help us all the way from Toledo to Ann Arbor)! I would recommend Kane and Nick to anyone moving. read more

I won't make this long, and I will never recommend Glass City to anyone. Unfortunately this was one of the worst experiences ever for my mother. She had high hopes and a good opinion of the company until she wanted to discuss a small problem. The owner was one of the rudest people I've experienced (a career in customer service here). He pretty much kept saying the word "contract" with zero intent to listen to her (or me) and zero intention on reaching a conclusion in which both parties would be happy. I was appalled by the experience and immediately filed a complaint with the BBB, something I've never even considered in my 41 years. read more

Glass City Movers stepped in last minute (less than 24 hours) to save us after the first company our moving broker sub-contracted to dropped the ball. I cannot say enough good things about the two men, Strado and Freddy, who completed our move. They are not only extremely professional and experienced, but they are incredibly personable and took care of my elderly parents belongings like they were their own. They helped us trouble shoot numerous logistical dilemmas we encountered due to the first mover not showing, and they thought of the little things (I.e. packing the vacuum last so we could vacuum as they emptied the rooms). They worked efficiently and communicated with us extremely well the entire time. As military veterans, my father and I have had A LOT of experience with moving companies. We can both honestly say these 2 men were the best movers we've ever had the pleasure of dealing with. It's so refreshing to meet such wonderful, caring people who obviously have an incredible work ethic and take pride in their work. read more

-0 Stars! I waited almost 2 weeks to write this review due to being so furious. And, I'm still opening boxes...all of which were packed in thick bubble wrap & foam covers & marked FRAGILE in big black permanent marker, only to continue to find at least half of my stuff broken in each one. But, I'm getting ahead of myself here. I always used the same moving company 12x in 20 yrs, sadly, that owner sold and I had to shop around. GC was $10-$15 an hour cheaper than others & just moved my friends last month & she said they did a good job and were done in 3 1/2 hrs. We moved from the same community to the same high rise, 1 floor apart. & she had 2x as much furniture & was upstairs moving out & I had less & was downstairs, & it took 'my guys' 7 1/2 hours. However, I counted only 6 1/2 hrs. Again, getting ahead of myself here. I call to set the appt with the 'manager' (I put that in quotes due to the 'manager's' name always miraculously changing with every call.) I confirmed the date, the $ & asked very specifically, 'Now does the time start when they leave or arrive here?' To which he stated, 'no, when they get there.' I even double checked that by asking, 'really? When they get here?' Again, he confirmed. So, the day comes, they arrived (a half an hour late), looked around & asked, 'everything going'? I said everything but the appliances. (I don't have a lot of furniture). He asked what time it was, I said 9:28 why? He said, because the time starts now, & bent down & picked up a box. For a couple hours it was going ok. I went & got them lunch & after 3 hrs they were still clearing out this 980 sq ft apartment. I asked, 'Why is this taking so long? I noticed you have one dolly & you're taking a couple boxes at a time & the other kid has barely been in here.' He stated, well, he's making room in the truck. I asked, 'for a 1/2 hr?' & explained to them the situation of my friends & I knew they weren't the same guys, but I moved out of a 4 bedroom home before in less time. To which he shot back, 'well, if you guys helped, it could be going faster.' that was the end of the niceties. My husband & I had only decided to officially move and keep the appointment due to personal reasons 4 days prior to going through with the move. & he & I work full time & had to pack and were still packing, then to be treated that way because we weren't helping them do their job we were paying them to do, really pissed me off. We get to the high rise, now 4 hrs in. Very easy move, or so I only know for a fact because I helped another friend move the year before here. Big freight elevator, back of truck parked right up to it. Again, they were moving 2 boxes here, a couple bags there, then called me while I was upstairs as I began to unpack and said, 'ma'am, you need to be down here with us. We can't move without you watching.' I was stunned. I asked, 'huh?? You're kidding right?' He said 'no.' So, I sent my husband down there who was now about to lose his mind with these guys. I walked out into the hall way & noticed that they were bringing things up the freight elevator & setting everything in the corridors. I told my husband to get them up here and when they arrived I asked why they weren't bringing the stuff in? Again, the mover stated, 'ma'am, like I said if you guys were helping us move this stuff, it wouldn't be taking so long.' I said, no, absolutely not. I wasn't born yesterday. Idk what you guys are doing besides milking this job, but it sure isn't what your supposed to be doing. With that, I never saw the 2nd kid again until he came up to 'help' with the billing. The other slid the boxes all against the wall, to where I needed to call management to come in and repaint the dining room due to the damage. I then noticed 2 huge gouges out of my 4 month old table and said, hey, you guys put something on this? Look at these scratches? To which he responded, 'it was covered! That's not from us! To which I stated my husband just bought me this set for my birthday in May & it certainly was not damaged before it went in their truck. He said, 'I knew I should have inspected your stuff before moving it!' Obviously accusing me of lying. They leave (&not soon enough) I notice my bill is 1 hr overcharged. I called the driver immediately on his cell when they were still downstairs & he didn't answer. I called GC Monday, and was told (after 4x on hold and 'disconnected' 2x, that no, nobody would tell me that. Because, yeah, I'm a moron. I heard it 3x from 2 different people. Even trying to explain the debacle, I wasn't given the time of day. But tonight, I've opened my last box of broken stuff. I'm calling BBB and SOS of Ohio. I have no doubt all of my broken stuff in these boxes was done deliberately now. I'm done being treated like this by companies. This is not the end of this read more

The most disappointing experience I have ever had. The crew of 2 showed up an hour and half late due to a broken down truck, and that set the bar for the rest of the day. 2 movers were sent to move our belongings - in a 2.5 hour time frame all that had been moved were 3 dressers, 2 night stands and a mattress. There were more cigarette breaks being taken (on the truck with our furniture) than work being done. Cigarette butts were left all over our driveway in fact. When we asked the movers why things were taking so long they were extremely combative and argumentative with us - us the PAYING customer. After numerous calls to the office and speaking with the owner - we decided to ask them to just stop and we would have to move items ourselves as we were being charged by the hour. The owner did not like this and threatened to not give us our belongings back that were already on the truck!! We were charged $450 and the few items they had moved were left in our driveway. Never in my existence have I seen such poor business practices. I was truly horrified and felt extremely "taken". I had actually used Glass City in the past and had positive experiences - but they have lost my business permanently and that of everyone I know. I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy as clearly their motto is taking people for everything they can and not even doing the job they were hired to do. We hired this company for our move to Cleveland. They were great. The crew arrived a little early, accessed the furniture and got started. I was impressed the guys wiped their feet when hey were in the house and were very accommodating in adding some last minute stuff like the dog crate. They did not waste any time and handled the fact we moved into a high rise condo like it was a piece of cake. I think it helped that we were organized and ready on my end. Horrible service. They were a no show on the day and time they said that they were going to come. Tried calling the number that we were given no answer had to email and set up a different day and time which was an inconvenience to us after we already had this set up. They did not wrap stuff like we were told. They were not very careful with our stuff. They were not careful with walls and doors at either of the houses. They complained a lot about having to move our furniture. They cost a lot and talked about personal stuff around my three kids. I would not recommend this company read more

Absolutely horrible!! Please believe the reviews. We called ABF who hired these guys through Moving Staffers. This is our 4th move in 4 years so I'm pretty sure we know how things should go by now. My husband and I packed a lot of things ourselves to save cost on the move. This seemed to annoy the head guy that they weren't going to need to be here as long to pack and use as much materials. No lie, the dude packed empty grocery plastic bags from our drawer to fill up boxes!! Really??!!! They seemed to be annoyed by all the things they missed in wrapping and packing, so towards the end they stopped. Didn't even bother to wrap my husband's golf clubs, just put it on the trailer. On top of that, they don't pack the trailer completely to the top so that your stuff uses up more of the square footage in the trailer. Horrible company. Do not use!!! read more

The WORST experience and company I ever dealt with...first if you don't print out the estimate that they email to you it gets deleted once they arrive and start the job, they arrived 4 hours late with other customers items on the truck, therefore, not having enough room for all of my furniture, boxes, and totes, they said that I would have to call another company to pick up my other items because that's all they were moving considering I was moving from Illinois to Michigan. They let 60% of my items then called me and stated it could possibly be 1 month before they deliver my items. After going back and forth with owner who said it just depends on how much the truck weighed when they got back to the office and when another job opened up in Michigan needless to say they took my belongings to Ohio and stored them there and refused to return my calls. I finally received my items only to find out that a great deal of them were missing the owner reduced the price of my balance and stated he would send another truck to pick up my other belongings before the end of the month. I had to drive back and forth to Illinois for a whole month after this horrible move to get the rest of my furniture and boxes because they never came back to complete my move and fly back to pick up my SUV that I left there....Don't use this company!!!!! read more
