I would NEVER recommend Two Men and a Truck. Our contract…read morewith them was for packing our house, storing the furniture and packed items and then moving them back in 8 months later. The estimator totally underestimated the packing time and the number of boxes that would be required. That meant that the movers and truck had to go back to the warehouse with the full truck, store the furniture and packed boxes, get more boxes and come back to our house to complete the packing. That meant additional hours and LOTS more money. Eight months later, when our furniture and items were returned, is when we learned the real problems - not one box had been labeled. Which means that you cannot verify to the movers that you have received everything. BUT Two Men and a Truck make you sign papers releasing them from ANY liability when they have unpacked the truck but before you can unpack the boxes. We lost 2 boxes which contained ALL of our sheets and towels and our dinner plates - Two Men and a Truck refused any settlement. ALSO, pieces of our furniture were damaged: for example, our dining room table was gouged in several places and needs to be completely refinished, and Two Men and a Truck refused settlement because, as required, we signed the indemnity papers as the movers were leaving. Do NOT trust Two Men and a Truck.

Two Men and a Truck claim to "treat your belongings like they treat their own grandparents". If so,…read moresomeone should check on their grandparents. We contracted with Two Men and A Truck in Fort Wayne to move our household from Roanoke, IN to South Carolina. We chose them largely because of their pitch that our belongings would be loaded onto a truck dedicated to just our belongings. We will not be sharing that truck with anybody else. That is the service we paid for. When our moving truck arrived, the first 6 feet of the truck and the attic section of the truck were already loaded with items from the companies owner that he was sending to a location in Florida. Because it was a non-dedicated truck, roughly 6 feet of our goods did not fit on the truck. As a result of being forced to share this truck with the owners belongings, a second truck was used to load the rest of our stuff and take it back to their warehouse. When our belongings left our house, they left in two trucks instead of the one that we were promised. When we received the first truck two days later, we noticed a significant amount of goods on the back had been unloaded. These items appeared on the second truck, which arrived the following day. A significant amount of these items were damaged and broken. Prior to the loading we paid for what they sell as moving insurance. It is supposed to damaged goods. We paid $208 for a protection plan with a $500 deductible. The company refused to honor the protection plan we purchased, claiming they only owe us $.60 on the pound for damages, despite the damages being caused by their negligence and the violation of our original agreement. If you use them, buyer beware. They will not honor your contract and will not pay to replace the items they break, even if you purchase the optional protection plan.

They got my furniture in their truck speedily but when we arrived at my new apartment they began moving things up before scoping out the logistics. When bringing my sofa up the stairs, they scraped up the wall and broke the decorative detail on an arch in the entryway. This is a Victorian house. They also got my sofa halfway up the stairs in my apartment before realizing it would not fit. They spent an hour and a half arguing (2 guys) about how to get it up there, then when it was stuck halfway up the stairs, they told me it was impossible - but then couldn't get the couch back DOWN the stairs. It took maneuvering, but they managed it - while ripping the couch and putting two holes in my drywall in the process. The manager did come back to plaster the wall, but didn't do a good job, and only paid me $20 in damages for the couch and the wall. I would not recommend using this shoddy moving service.

My move was completed without any broken, missing or damaged items. Not a BBB accredited business. Will NEVER recommend. The movers that showed up were smoking right before entering my home. I initially called for a moving quote and ended up booking the service based on the estimate I…read morereceived. The two-man crew arrived on time and were professional when they arrived. We completed a walkthrough of my home, identifying everything that would be included in the move. After I signed the contract, they began working immediately. Unfortunately, about an hour into the move, the team lead pulled me aside and presented me with a new contract. He explained that I had been quoted incorrectly and that the job would require a third mover. This increased the cost by an additional $80 per hour and extended the estimated time from 5 hours to 7 hours. Needless to say, I was extremely disappointed by this sudden change. The team had already completed the walkthrough and knew exactly how much needed to be moved, yet they waited more than an hour into the job to tell me additional labor was required. Because I was on a strict timeline to vacate the home I was selling and move into my new house, I felt I had no real choice but to agree and proceed. After everything was packed, we conducted another walkthrough. I pointed out several items that had been missed, and the team began loading them. However, when I returned for a final check, I discovered they had still left behind a significant amount of belongings--enough to fill my SUV twice. The issues continued at the new house. Clearly labeled boxes were placed in the wrong locations, with basement items brought upstairs and garage items left outside in the yard instead of being placed in the garage. I specifically reminded the crew to plug in my basement refrigerator, but they failed to do so, resulting in all of the meat stored in the freezer being spoiled. Overall, the experience was extremely frustrating and disorganized. What started as a quoted $1,500 move ended up costing me nearly $2,800, and the quality of service did not justify the additional expense. I cannot recommend this company based on my experience.
