I admit the staff is very polite. My experience relates as this. I made an appointment to have this done. I paid 100% more to NOT GET MY LICENSE RENEWAL. I will freely admit, it was me that didn't review the medical record for signature and provider number. I could have achieved the same result for half the price and some sick satisfaction that I actually spent some time paying for nothing. Don't assume twice as much money gets you any different results than anyone else. read more

I entered MVD Express at 9 AM to replace a stolen driver's license with only one other person being processed. During my processing, they mentioned that there was a $25 reinstatement fee. They could not tell me what it was related to (because they are NOT the DMV) and, by the way, would charge me $25 to pay the $25. I ran downtown to the DMV, where I waited about 20 minutes total (about 8 minutes longer than at MVD "Express") and saved $78 dollars. MVD Express is a rip-off. You will pay more for fees that is not disclosed, they do not actually have any useful access to information if anything non-standard arises, and they charge a fee for every TRANSACTION, not visit, even if the transaction requires only one additional piece of paper that you fill out without their guidance. Rip off. Rip off. Rip off. I would be scared to resolve anything here, as it doesn't seem like their system is well-integrated with the actual DMV. read more

I recently moved and went through a name change, so I needed a new ID. With all of the new requirements for the Real ID, I made sure to do my research before going in and went prepared with extra documents just in case. I went to an MVD Express location closer to my house and had a pretty awful experience, was denied a new ID because my name was mismatched on some of the documents, and ended up leaving with little help. So I made an appointment online (SUPER convenient, by the way) at this location, walked in, was greeted by the manager Miguel, and was helped within minutes. What a different experience! The clerk, Tiffany, was super friendly, efficient, and helpful. She reviewed my documents, explained what was required and acceptable with the Real ID act, and had me all situated with my new ID within 10-15 minutes. Totally worth the convenience fee to skip the state-run MVD, I will definitely be back here in the future. read more

Terrible! Waited a long time for a renewal to have their employee destroy my valid license then tell me I will get a new one in two weeks. This was after I explained that I would renting a car in a foreign country and needed a valid license. The had assured me that they would be issuing a new one that day. Then the manager tried to tell me that i should have known the policy. No attempt to expedite the process. And they still charged me their 26 dollar processing fee. Just go to NM MVD and save your money. read more

I called to see if I could re-register my boat at their office. The call was answered by Alejandra, and not only could we do it there, he could get it set up over the phone. It took 13:33 minutes and he emailed me the temporary registration and I didn't have to leave to get it, just printed it out in my office. Fantastic help and experience. DO NOT GO HERE. Passport, drivers license, social security, bill from school, admissions ... too old. God forbid you got admitted early. Had to call school, bank, employer to get a drivers license. For an 18 year old!!! Real ID is fine if you are an adult. But not for an 18 year old!! And they are no help what so ever!!! Go ANYWHERE else. read more

Alright, so this is a supreme scam they have going here, but it is literally the only game in town if you are even partially employed or if you MIND being verbally abused (as you inevitably will after waiting HOURS at the regular MVD). The regular MVD is so completely awful (I am specifically referring to the field office on Juan Tabo and Menaul) that it makes one realize why our parents made those jokes about surly and stupid state employees. Although it cost us a whopping $60 in "convenience fees" to go to an MVD Express, it was well worth it after spending 2 1/2 hours waiting at the MVD I mentioned earlier, being yelled at by a 70 year old Alzheimer's patient (and yes, he was an employee) with whom we argued for 10 minutes that "yes, sir, that really is a Bill of Sale you have there in your quaking old hand. You can tell by the way it has BILL of SALE written across the top of it in an 18 point font, you foul old coot" that by golly there were a couple of snow flakes out there so he was not going to go do a VIN inspection (aka "take a quick glance it the VIN on your vehicle that is parked a whole 12 feet from the entrance over there") and we would have to come back another day and wait another 2 1/2 hours. By that point, the $60 for a decent human being who could carry on a conversation without becoming confused and enraged seemed a small price to pay. So yeah, you should go here. In spades. Seriously, it is worth the ridiculous amount of money. Otherwise you will have to take a day off work, pay for the therapy to get rid of the memory, and potentially pay the bail money to get out of jail after going over the counter at MVD on Menaul and Juan Tabo. johanna has the worst customer service. i was wondering why she was being so rude i had my registration renewal which had my address on it i had my insurance which had my address on it i had my current check stub which had my address on it all proofs of residency and i didn't find out until later why she was being so rude when i left i looked at all my paperwork i had one of my probation discharge papers in there so shame on you for discriminated on somebody because you saw that they were on probation shame on you for your customer service i will make sure to let everybody know never to go to the mvd express read more

They are inconsistent in their requirements. It's not too difficult to provide a list of accepted documents. Instead they may require 2 or 3 trips because they gave you faulty info the first time. In a sector with growing competition there are certainly more competent choices. read more

This is about the location on Paseo - NOT Menaul. But I'm guessing they're nervous about what people would say about them and haven't put up a Yelp account. I took my daughter in there to go from her learner's permit to her provisional - easy enough, right? We got a new employee, and I don't blame her, but the employee who she had to go ask every step of the way should have stepped in and helped in live time. Two hours later we got the provisional. Basically, we trained the new employee and not MVD Express. I even wrote them to complain and no answer, not even a "thanks for the input and we'll look into it." We came in with a series of relatively complicated title transfers. We received prompt and professional assistance. Through help from staff we were able to solve an issue that otherwise would have required interstate travel to have 2 persons in the office signing documents. Help was outstanding. read more

Not sure why this is called "express." I've been to these before, but not the Menaul location. These guys are decidedly SLOW. What's worse, there big screen tv's which are supposed to display where you are in the queue flip through a bunch of advertisements and flash up a scrolling list every once in a while that, if you are quick enough, you might just be able to determine how many people are in front of you. Here's a clue. People are paying extra for service. Put your damned list up and leave it up. Give people an idea how long it will be. Actually be helpful. The sort of service I see here is not good enough for a regular DMV, let alone a more expensive and efficient "express." read more

Wanted to do a title transfer, they sent the fax with the wrong number 3 times, called the main office, couldn't get a refund, they sent the fax again. My company still didn't receive it. These people are rude, and incompetent. Wouldn't recommend this MVD to my worst enemy. read more

This place is an F'ing rip-off. This "for-profit" company charges ridiculously high prices..they claim its "faster" than the state-owned MVD, but even if it is, its not worth the cost. GO to the regular MVD! The alaskan DMV charges $20 per license and $100 every 2 yrs for registration and no fees. If you're moving to NM from out of state, be prepared to shell out $300 just to get your license, plate, and tags, and this does NOT include an 8% "tax" on the blubook value of your car (e.g. a 10,000 value translates to $800!!!!), and if you havn't registered within the first 30 days of moving to NM, they charge an ADDITIONAL $100 late fee...buncha criminals. A perfect example of the Halliburtonization of a government service; privatize and charge ridiculously exhorbitant prices which end up in the pockets of a few rich guys who buy off politicians in order to operate. read more
