He wasn't mean, he just wanted to play. he would jump up on us, and our small kids, and knock them down. After 3 week of training, in house at Muttworks, Keith brought him home. Rip is now the perfect dog! Our kids can now play with him, with no worries of being tackled! When we take Rip in for group classes, the other trainers come up to him, call him by name, and tell him how proud they are of him. Keith, along with his staff, are loving, and treat Rip like he is their dog. If you have a dog, that needs some training, I highly recommend Muttworks. All of these were a nightmare for me (and him). Now we can go out to stores, do outdoor activities, and even with groups of people. I was so impressed with how they turned his training around that I have also taken his "sister" a 4-month-old German Shepard to have her trained as well (dropped her off for training at 12 weeks old to start her off right). I took 2 handfuls (fur babies) in and got 2 very well-behaved best friends back. After 6 months we are now in protection training, and it is going great. The classes are very informative and, most importantly, fun because let's be honest, if you're not having fun then your pet is not having fun and now, you're not going to classes. First off, she tells me there is no such thing as a puppy cut and groomers don't know what that is. I'm looking at her thinking, I have had small dogs since the 1980's, before she was even born, so yes there is. Then she tells me she probably can't do the cut because it's his first time. One hour l get a call, saying she could not do what I wanted because he was too timid. I go to pick him up and he looks the same. I say, he always going be this way until he gets used to it. The next time will be the same. She tells me to get an electric toothbrush and run it over him so he can get used to the noise. What? What kind of unprofessional advice was this? I should have not left him, because of my conversation with her before. She wasn't even going to try. And had the nerve to give me a bill for $42. Edgar, the Manager was great! Who said the groomer was new. I could tell. But it was the know-it-all attitude she had, that got me, and misinformation she gave. Pretty Paws is closed , so I try PetSmart. No thanks, I will find a local groomer. Teach your new groomers to always have an open mind. And get rid of a know it all attitude, especially when they are NEW GROOMERS.

went to this location for the first time to have my Maltese groomed…read more the haircut was "ok", not great and had to point out the nearly 1" length difference on one side of her face since it was evidently not obvious enough to the groomer. the bigger issue with this place was how completely filthy it was. I saw dogs beng groomed one after the other and not one of the employees swept the fur off the floors or even the individual grooming station tables, including in between their breaks. i had black fur all over me when I left and my dog is a non shedding Maltese with pure white hair, not fur. she was covered in the dog hair from other dogs with who knows what they could possibly have. i bathed her the moment I got home and had to fix the uneven parts of her head and face. will not go back.

i got a chesapeake bay retreiver puppy in october 2014. i took classes with him on and off for…read moreabout 3 years. the teachers are great and very patient. i really think the humans need the training more than the dogs. my dog grew to be 130 lbs of muscle and determination. he has excellent recall, perfectly leash trained and very social as long as he is on the leash. chessies are a naturally dominant and protective breed so i was so happy we got the training we needed from this organization. if i get another dog, i will take classes with it, whatever breed it is.
