When a reputable Auto Museum refers you to this place, you expect excellence. When you see the name, you expect cool. When you pick up your car after service, you check both boxes! Called Volo for a recommendation to have some mechanical and body work done on my 1978 Lincoln Town Car. I questioned going to a Mustang shop for a Lincoln, but hey, they are all Fords underneath...right? Turns out Chris is a car guy, a purest who appreciates everything from the Mustang (clearly a passion), Lincoln's (he owns one) to lots of other cool cars. My car has never looked or run better. The service was excellent, the staff friendly, and they do a great job communicating during the process. Awesome experience!

suppose to be new, but rusty

I took my rare 64.5 Mustang Pace Car to Chris to finish up after 3 other body shops screwed me over. Chris was recommended by Jim Smart. So many, many things were wrong, but here are the major ones. I took brand new parts in with the car, they disappeared and new ones were ordered from Kentucky Mustang. If you use this shop make sure you check your parts list and see that they don't keep charging you for the same parts. That happened to me more than once. I don't know if the parts shop was to blame or Chris. And if they say they will send parts and then if not used on the car Chris will return and get a refund, make sure they do. When I drove up to check out the supposedly done car. The horn didn't work, passenger tail light didn't work, grease was on the headliner, visors, and carpet all brand new? The splash shields were missing on the front of the car. The driver window will not roll up all the way and catches. All the stuff (except the grease on the visors and headliner) is still wrong when I got it home and to top it off there are scratches on the threshold drivers door which weren't there, when I drove the car. Chris tried to blame the driver who trailered the car for me, but the driver has pictures when he picked up the car and the scratches were already on the car. Chris also had said he would finish the car for $20,000, and wanted it in 5 payments, I had sent him four payments and when the car was about done he said I still owned him $8,000. When I showed him my cancelled checks to prove I had paid him $16,000, all he said was ok, not sorry I didn't record one or he was wrong. So if you decide to use this place make sure you keep very good records of everything and watch your parts. Don't give them your credit card and cart blanch with your account, check everything out. I took lots of parts to Chris's, some brand new in boxes, and only received back a radio that isn't even mine.

Brought it to Chris and his crew for what we thought were just some minor redo's (upholstery, carpet, radio).

By the end of the week, despite numerous phone calls, they still. hadn't given me an estimate. Then I ended up at Caliber. Day and night difference. They ended up giving me an estimate on the cost, and when they would be finished. Every couple of days, I got a phone call telling me the status. They had the car finished on the day they said it would be done. My jaw dropped when I picked it up. Seriously, the car looked brand new. If I had to sell the car now, I would have to say it was perfect. Easily would recommend them to anyone.

I had a very disappointing experience with Caliber Collision in Algonquin, and I would not…read morerecommend them based on how poorly my estimate request was handled. I scheduled an appointment for Friday, April 17, around lunchtime, to have two separate impact areas on my vehicle examined. When I made the appointment, I specifically explained that I needed two separate quotes: one quote for each impact area, plus a combined total if there would be any discount for doing both repairs together. I arrived on time and met with Nik Pigounakis, who inspected the car. To be fair, he was friendly, but he also seemed like he was in a major rush. He took photos and told me the quotes would be emailed to me. Then nothing. I waited all weekend and still had not received anything. On Monday near the end of the day, I emailed him to follow up. He said he had sent the quote Friday at the end of the day. I told him I had not received it and gave him an alternate email address. Moments later, I received the quote in both email accounts, which makes the original "I sent it Friday" explanation questionable at best. Even worse, the quote was wrong. It was a single combined quote, not the two separate quotes I had clearly requested when scheduling the appointment. I immediately pointed this out, and he said he would fix it and resend the corrected quotes. Twenty-four hours later, I still had nothing. I followed up again, this time expressing my frustration and asking why such a simple request was being handled so incompetently. I also told him I intended to write a review about the experience. At that point, he simply stopped responding. So after taking time out of my day, showing up on time, clearly explaining what I needed, following up multiple times, and giving them a chance to correct the issue, I was left with no usable estimate and no response. The lack of follow-through was bad enough. The ghosting after they failed to provide what was requested made it worse. Friendly service at the beginning does not mean much if the follow-through is this careless. Based on this experience, Caliber Collision in Algonquin came across as rushed, disorganized, and unprofessional. I will be taking my business elsewhere.

It was to have been completed in a month. He had seen other Jeeps that I had done at other local Shops and he assured me that his work would be as good if not Better! It wound up taking 9 MONTHS! And the product I got back was probably the WORST Paint Job I Have EVER Seen(See Pictures). Everything from No Prep Work to Painting Over the Stock Decals(Again, See Pics)! And when I was told that the Jeep was FINALLY Done, I showed up to pick it up to be told that the Hood Cowl still needed to be "Wet Sanded". After Finally being forced to Demand the Hood Cowl, 2 Months later, I was handed it back unprepped, unpainted! Then the Final Kick in the Shin is that after waiting 9 Months plus an additional 2 Months while they gather all the parts they took off to get the Jeep "Paint Ready" and Getting a Sub-Earl Scheib Paint Job, they couldn't find 18 Parts(See List), including the Back Seat that were missing off of the Jeep when I went to Pick it up(Probably due to the Jeep sitting outside without the Supplied Hard Top for 7 of the 9 Month's they had it). I have Never dealt with such an Unprofessional Business before in my 55 Years. If they were to offer to paint my next car/jeep for free, I would RUN! I also want to say that this should not reflect poorly upon Pro Paint Location in Woodstock. The Woodstock location does Wonderful work and is fairly priced. And Raul there is a Master at Paintless Dent Repair! He sold the East Dundee Location to Mario and Everything has gone Downhill since.
