My husband was craving something fruity so he decided to go get some shaved ice. He asked if I wanted anything, and I said no. I have only had shaved ice once and it was just like, ice chips with syrup. Not a fan. Plus, I don't care for fruity things. So he went over there and came home with a cup of chocolate custard for me, and a cup of some tropical fruity ice with vanilla custard for him. SO GOOD! I tried his ice and the texture was amazing. Ummmm I guess I would describe it as chewy if I had to pick a word. Chewy ice. Sounds strange, but man it was great! My chocolate custard was so delicious, loved the flavor of the chocolate. Very rich and tasty. He said he got medium sizes cause small seemed too small. Well, I didn't even finish half of it, so I have it in the freezer to enjoy later. Glad he tried Mustache Mike's, we will definitely be back for more sweet treats when the mood strikes! read more

This place was so good! It's such a good deal for the Italian ice with custard and I feel like this is the perfect place for when you want something refreshing but you don't want something heavy like ice cream. All the the flavors I've tried reminded me of sour candy and it was so hard to choose between the options. I'm definitely coming back during summer. read more

Local mom and pop shop serving italian ice, custard, and ice cream! Small Milklati ($4.25): Choice of italian ice topped with custard makes for a winning combo! We were offered samples of italian ice before making a selection. I went original and stuck with strawberry italian ice with vanilla custard. The small was a good size but I do wish there was a small layer of custard in between the ice for the small (just like they do for medium). Love the large variety of flavors available. The shop itself is small inside but there were a couple tables right outside along with a separate area with hay bales as seats. No issues finding parking in the shared parking lot with other businesses in the plaza. read more

Italian ice is good though someone told me that they had Frozen Custard so I had to go and try it. My family used to go out for Soft Serve Ice cream about once a week when I was a child and I remember the taste as being one of the most amazing things I had ever had in my life. Well of course as an adult I get to order whatever I want and I have tried Soft Serve ice cream at many different places and it never matches that memory. When I tasted their Vanilla Frozen Custard it was exactly what I have been looking for all these years. I will certain be back many, many times. Maybe I will have to restart the tradition of going once a week. Thank you for your amazing location and delicious treats. Also look at the non-frozen items, there are some really delicious looking items that are not refrigerated. read more

I have 3 ice cream shops closer to me and I still end up driving a bit further for some Italian ice! Loooove this place. Cute little shop, staff is helpful. A mini Miklati is just perfect! The price is reasonable and the flavor combos never disappoint. The big daddy miklati is my go to. My son likes to try the sour flavor Italian ice. The root beer float and 50/50 grind are good on their own without custard. Definitely recommend this place especially on a hot day. read more

Listen. I LOVE this little Italian ice joint. Tucked away in a little plaza it stays consistent and the texture and flavor of the ice is a beautiful thing. Glad they're part of my neighborhood. Thankful they make a no sugar ADDED flavor (strawberry). Parking is decent in this little strip mall. There's no indoor sit down but Mike has a couple of two tops and a cute little patio outside. You can purchase hand scooped or pre packed sizes. They also sell pickles bc why not. Currently running a toy drive 12/2022 if you have something to drop. Support local businesses! read more

What a great new spot! First of all, the guy who served my daughter and I was super friendly. He helped the lady before us and was very patient and kind. Then, when it was our turn, he was great and super accommodating to my indecisive daughter. Right now they are doing a BOGO special. We opted for two single scoop italian ices. Those are about 4 bucks each. And two large Miklatis... that's the soft serve with ice. Our total for four desserts came to under 10 bucks! They have about a dozen flavors, everything from horchata to sour apple. Root beer to mango. The juicy rancher and root beer float are probably my faves. Definitely check this place out... it's great! And a great value. And friendly service. I'm glad we've got one of these so close... I'm sure I'll visit again. My kiddo wouldn't have it any other way. read more

Doin' it Right I love good Italian ice. Joe's is one of my favorite places and I'll make the trek down the 57 at night to satisfy that craving. But sometimes dealing with the drive and traffic is just too much- if only there were a closer option just as good. Thankfully, there is. At first I was a little snobbish- there's a lot of bad Italian ice places- some that are just glorified snow cone shops. I eventually pulled the trigger and decided to try Mike's since it's was fairly close and man, I'm glad I did. Ice flavors are really good- not everyone is a winner for me but there are several that are good options. And the frozen custard is amazing! Some of the best I've ever had. The prices are very reasonable for the portion size and to top it off, the employees are pretty friendly and helpful. I'm honestly surprised this place hasn't blown up yet. It has the potential. Not quite Joe's level yet, but a worthy competitor. I'm sure I'll be back a lot. read more

I can't believe I only just recently discovered this place! My husband and I never really get Italian ice, but since we had a coupon from a local ad book, we thought we'd give it a try. When you first walk in the door, you're greeted with a warm smile. We were asked if we wanted to try different flavors, and I probably tried about 80% of all of the flavors - no judgement either. The flavors matched the unique and spunky names, and actually tasted like the fruits that they said they were made of. We both really loved manic mango, so we both got a mini milkalti with that flavor. The Italian ice was delicious, but my husband liked the custard even more! We've gone back a few times since, and I personally came back here on my own the night before my wedding day just to have some "me" time :) It's been one of my favorite dessert places, and I also love knowing that I'm supporting a local small business. I really liked the nutter butter Italian ice they make here, or so I thought they made it here. I also thought it was Italian ice as it was listed on the menu. Apparently it is not made here and is now considered custard all of a sudden. Last week it was Italian ice and this week it was custard. Also, they are now charging a premium for it because it is custard. I was charged $10 for a Mega (medium) where it should have been $6.75. Last week one thing, this week another. Oh and to make it better it is still listed on all the menus as Italian ice. The only way I realized was that it said $10 on the receipt. As I brought it to the girls attention who were working and told them that it was not right, they recommended more affordable ice cream shops (Rich Farms and Baskin Robbins). Good luck in your future (one very upset and saddened previous customer)! Also if anyone would like a more affordable ice cream shop, please look to Rich Farms or Baskin Robbins. This came right from the employees of Mustache Mike's ( I can't speak to it). read more

The shop offers plenty of seating, both indoors and outdoors, making it a nice spot to sit back and enjoy a sweet treat. The staff was friendly and welcoming, even offering me samples of a few flavors before I made my decision. One thing that stood out to me was the generous portion size! I ordered a small, which they describe as 1 1/2 scoops, but it honestly felt more like three scoops. I did find the 1 1/2-scoop sizing a little unusual, especially since the staff member asked which flavor I wanted more of while scooping my ice cream. I decided to go with a smaller portion of pistachio and a larger scoop of peanut butter cup. The pistachio was light, refreshing, and not too heavy, while the peanut butter cup was rich, smooth, and packed with plenty of peanut butter pieces. The two flavors complemented each other nicely, giving me a good balance of something light and something more indulgent. Overall, I really enjoyed my sweet treat and had a great first experience here. The portions are definitely generous, so come prepared for a satisfying serving! I could barely finish my small because of how much ice cream I received, but I certainly got my money's worth. I am a former friend of the family and worked for Mike Elder of Mustache Mike's Italian Ice on and off for several years. He is by far THE most dishonest person I've ever met. He runs his business illegally and unethically. He refused to hire me as an employee and wouldn't agree to an independent contractor's arrangement so I could make a living and pay my taxes. He was then audited in 2015 and w/o my knowledge, submitted a 1099 (self-employed contractor) on my behalf. I am now in debt to the IRS for $5000. The family motto, verbatim..."do what we want, apologize later if necessary". The irony there is...he'll never apologize, he never admits when he's wrong and coincidentally...he's never done anything right. If he lied to me, then he'll lie to you. A great indicator of what someone will do in the future...is what they've done in their past. And Mike's past is full of lies. During the time that I worked for him, I've never felt so disrespected in my entire life. He once left on XMAS vacation w/o paying me, when I called him, he replied with, "there's $100 in 1 dollar bills at the shop". Mike has no shame, no humility. I was working for him when an employee almost lost his finger due to Mike's machinery, which was unsafe and not in compliance with OSHA machine guarding requirements. Many close to me warned me that he'd get audited for his poor business practices and when the IRS comes across my name, he's gonna say I don't know him, he's on his own and that's exactly what happened. I didn't listen because I trusted Mike. In reality, he commits tax fraud on a daily basis. Aside from lying about my employment status he would do things such as hiding a machine on an inspection in order to not have to pay the tax on that piece of equipment. Beware if he says "I'm just trying to help you out", because what that really means is he's try to help himself out. Mike's greatest power and perhaps his only power is to look people in the eye and lie convincingly. Please do not support Mustache Mike's Italian Ice read more

I recently tried their new Italian ice and custard blend, and the execution was exceptional. Unlike the high-viscosity milkshakes typically encountered at other establishments, this blend demonstrated optimal fluidity, with rheological properties that allowed for easy consumption through a straw. This is suggestive of a precise balance between the freezing point depression and the overrun, where the air incorporation did not compromise the structural integrity of the mixture but rather enhanced its drinkability. The flavor equilibrium was meticulously achieved, with neither sweetness nor acidity dominating, indicating a well-calibrated balance of flavor modulators. The pH levels were likely fine-tuned to enhance both the sweet and tart components without overwhelming the palate, resulting in a synergistic flavor experience that was both complex and refreshing. From an operational standpoint, the staff exhibited exemplary service, consistently offering samples with a level of enthusiasm that suggests a strong internal culture. Their approach facilitates an optimal sensory experience, allowing customers to gauge the full spectrum of flavors offered. Mustache Mike's has clearly invested in both product development and customer interaction, delivering a highly refined product that stands out in its category. It's a prime example of a well-engineered frozen dessert and I would highly recommend it. read more
