I felt compelled to write this review after seeing other reviews which mostly are positive, however, I saw a couple that were not. The prices are on point and they always have specials and deals, so i disagree that prices are high. and with regard to the 1 rant that they wouldn't drop everything to re-string someone's guitar on the spot: 1st they don't have someone on staff that does nothing but re-string all day. 2nd, when they do take your instrument in for what appears to be a simple service, they polish and condition the guitar, adjust the rod, string and fine tune it all for about $20.00. Again, I WON'T do business anywhere else other than this specific location when it comes to my needs. My son also got a bass there, takes lessons and the staff were sure after a few months to offer him a change in teacher because he was excelling and needed a better fit (shows you how tuned they become)

I first took it to Guitar Center where they misdiagnosed the issue as a bad preamp. The guys at West Chester Music correctly diagnosed the issue as a disconnected battery terminal and had it fixed within 24 hours. This was huge as I was on a time crunch getting the bass back The price was fair, the service was done well, and the turnaround time was absolutely amazing. I recently moved back to the area and needed a store for supplies and repairs. Took one of my…read morebasses in for evaluation and repair. Got a little delayed because of the snow storm, but they got it done. Didn't test it out at the store because I was short on time, but got home and hooked it up... sounded great. Before picking it up the technician (luthier) gave me a call and explained the issue he found. Was honest - he told me that there was a loose connection on the preamp board which is potted. He said he drilled out the connection but could not re-solder the wire. He said that the bass will need to have the board replaced at some point. Maybe years or maybe weeks.... but it is working. I know that intermittent issues in any electronics are hard to find, especially when potted under epoxy. The store is a little quirky and crowded with product, but they did a great job. Looked around a bit - they have a huge selection of guitar strings, amps and pedals... new and used. Al, I'm guessing, took the time to walk around with me, pointing out product, talking with me about the basses he had, the email group they managed. They gained a customer.

I left my instrument at Music & Arts for cleaning and a minor repair. I was told to expect a call…read morewith an estimate to approve for the repair. I had already agreed to the cleaning cost when I dropped the instrument off. After waiting 16 days and hearing nothing from Music & Arts, I called them. The employee I spoke with claimed that they had made multiple attempts to contact me with a repair estimate for me to approve. When I later spoke directly to the repair technician, he admitted only having called once, 10 days earlier. There was no message left. The employee I originally spoke with said that my voicemail box must have been full. It clearly was not. To top it off, there was no estimate given other than the original cleaning cost, which I had already agreed to when I dropped off the instrument. I was now told that it would take still an additional week to do the cleaning and repair, neither which had been started after 16 days. I had no confidence in this time estimate. I drove to the store and retrieved my instrument, which had not been worked on at all. After I returned home from picking up my instrument, the service technician texted me a screenshot of his computer application "proving" that he had left a message for me with an estimate, 10 days before I had retrieved the unserviced instrument. I replied to his text with a screenshot of Verizon's call records for my phone, showing no calls had come from either him or Music & Arts ever since I first brought the instrument to be serviced. Despite Verizon's documented call records, the technician still continued to insist that he had left a message with an estimate and was waiting for me to return his call (which he never made). And that is supposedly why he had not done any work on the instrument. What a waste of my time.
