I am sure Dr Steinbach is still a fine doctor - but you can't get an appointment. I called as soon as I received a reminder card and was pushed out three months! The central reception service said "they were very busy because of back to school". Well, two weeks before the appt, I needed to reschedule - and was pushed out another two months. The women that I spoke with were rude and uncaring - very different from the previous office staff. Additionally, they don't run a cancellation list. Dr Steinbach is a fine optometrist, but certainly not worth waiting five months for a regular eye exam. As a long time customer, I find the changes in staff, process and service here disheartening. I will be changing doctors.

Another 15 minutes go by and the lady that had arrived after me begins to complain, the staff decide to jump her ahead of me. Waited an hour to even be seen and the doctor didn't provide any information or results that made me walk out satisfied. The urgent care had provided me with antibiotics and the doctor was upset I couldn't remember the name of the antibiotic. Wouldn't return or recommend this place to anyone. If you want fast service complain and they'll jump you 2+ people.

I am very grateful! Dr. M's team was very helpful and kind, including Susan Osieski, who is patient contact for surgery. She was very organized and answered all of my questions. However, I will say that my observation after everal years and many office visits is that the front office personnel at this office are abrupt and bordering on rude. At my last visit, I felt so bad for the elderly people who were waiting patiently for a long time and not getting any communication or kindness from the front office staff that I reported my feelings to Dr. M's staff. It would take so little to treat elderly (I'm 70-so I'm talking about those elder to me) patients with patience and kindness. It is also counterproductive, as they could be scaring patients away. Once you get beyond the gatekeepers, evereyone is professional and competent. I will also say that I had the same experience at the Surgical Center. The intake person was abrupt and cut me off in the middle of a question and then turned her back on me. However, once past her, the nurses, anaesthesiologist, surgeon and all I encountered were amazing. I'm noticing a trend?

But yesterday afternoon, driving my '97 Boxster back from Philly to Wilmington, it rained heavily the whole way and there was a lot of spray from speeding (55 limit = 70), heavy traffic and also fog on I-95. The yellow-tinted sunglasses turned out to be perfect fog and spray cutters. Quite amazing. I mean it was like the road was clear. Big trucks and black pickups come from the fast lane and cut in front of me to spray my yellow roadster good, but I was OK vision wise. Fortuitus mistake or not, the yellow tinting worked out fine. Good to know. All's well that ends well.

The two ladies running the office and fitting the glasses were both very nice and professional. Everything was super quick and convenient. Plus they had a nice selection of glasses. I am glad that I switched to this office from one of the bigger ones where I had to wait eons and deal with some rude ladies to just get a pair of reading glasses. I am happy that small offices like this exist where you can be seen close to your appointment time because they haven't overbooked and everyone is nice and getting your eyes checked isn't some dreaded chore any longer.

Strauss has a small, quaint office. He is seemingly quiet at first(but quite witty once you get to know him). I wasn't sure what to expect, but I was blown away by how comprehensive his examination was. He has strong diagnostic skills and he also got me in the most comfortable lenses I've ever worn. I referred my whole family and several friends, and everyone agrees, they're sticking with Strauss.
