I work at MUHA so it's extremely convenient for me to get all of my prescriptions from the retail pharmacy in the Rutledge Tower. The pharmacy has been through many changes throughout the past few years and at this point, they are definitely a five star business to me. Quick, friendly service EVERY time. I use the on-line portal for any refills and I get an email notice when they are ready for pick-up. You can also call in through the automated attendant, or speak to a live person. There is always a pharmacist available to answer any questions, too. Your doctor's office can probably send in any new prescriptions through electronically for you. I always ask because that saves a step and we know time is precious! When needing refills, if your prescription has expired or has no refills left, the pharmacy tech will send in an inquiry to your doctor's office for you. Easy peasy.
My allergist wanted me to get the Shingrix vaccine, which requires a second shot, so I went to the Rutledge Tower pharmacy after the MD sent in the prescription. The information is contained within the system for easy access and scheduling so I was in and out in no time. I also received my flu shot at the pharmacy this year. The tech was super talented because for an IM (intramuscular) injection, I hardly felt it.
The other very convenient and less expensive offering is over-the-counter items. Many of your routine ailment potions are also available. I always get ibuprofen for example, and they have several allergy meds too.
Parking is probably the most inconvenient since it's downtown, but they do offer valet right outside the entrance. Don't forget your mask, and you will be asked a few questions upon entry to reduce COVID-19 exposure. You'll be happy to know that all the proper precautions and procedures are being followed with social distancing and plexiglass dividers in place. If you still worry about your safety, you can also get your prescriptions mailed to you through this pharmacy! Good luck and stay well! read more
