They do have a waiting room area, but it's only open for a few hours a day, which is pretty terrible during bad weather or in the winter. There weren't many ticket machines, which is usually okay. The platform going towards Long Island has none, so watch out! Lastly, what's really annoying is that every half hour or so, either this station or Auburndale is skipped. It only takes an extra minute to stop at both during off peak hours, so this is just an inconvenience to local residents - as if the high price of commuting to Manhattan isn't enough!

Now, even with repairs at certain stations it's like every 3 minutes there is another train coming after the first one left. The trains are new. Found them to be clean compared to some of the other lines. What I love about the 7 train "International Express Train" for its diverse neighborhood at every station that you get off. It's like an adventure and you are venturing to another country, smell the fragrance and aromas of the food being cooked. Every country that is represented and you find enclave of eateries and shops. It's like a mini United Nations on the 7 Train. -The MTA 7 Train will take you to Citi Field for Mets Game. Get off at Willets Point Station. Also Flushing Meadow Park, and US open as well as other events. -Get off at Main Street- Last stop towards Flushing. Chinatown- Lots of food shopping and dining experience. Don't forget the Sky View Mall-You will see segment of the mall as train heads underground toward Main Street. Just a few descriptions of the stations on the 7 train to whet your appetite. It's a small, bare-bones station at the halfway point of the Port Washington line (that still, thankfully, lets you get off on any car). You won't see a great many people getting off and on, except during rush hour. If I could make a change, it would be to either make the glass shelter temperature-controlled like at some other stations, or extend the roof to the length of the entire platform. As it stands, because the tracks are elevated, you're going to feel the full brunt of the weather in the Summer and Winter. Minor inconveniences aside, this is still a decent station.

The train is usually on time and I ride off peak where the prices are cheaper and the LIRR mobile app is a breeze to use to purchase tickets and get an updated train schedule and service information in real time. The train is dated and can use some new equipment and furnishings. So I don't arrive in style, but I do arrive in time to watch the puck drop at MSG.

The station is served by the M train on weekdays, the R train during the day and the E train at night. The station has four tracks with two side platforms. The center tracks are for express trains that don't stop here and they are LOUD AS HECK when they zoom past. The southbound local platform gets the M train toward Metropolitan Avenue, the R train toward 95th Street and the E train toward World Trade Center. The northbound local platform gets the M and R trains toward 71st Avenue and the E train toward Jamaica Center. The station is tidy enough and well lit though I felt the platforms were rather narrow compared to other stations. I don't like people standing behind me at subway stations and there are only a very few benches here for waiting. Entrances at street level are stairs only. The station opened in 1936 and there is no handicap access here. There is a mezzanine level with ticketing kiosks and fare control, then another set of stairs down to the platform level. I'm reporting it due to seeing children with there families waiting in overcrowded plat forms hazardous conditions. I was Shock and Awe!! By the conditions, its badly in need of maintenance. Just from the pics you can see the foreign alien stuff growing on the floors, ceiling, cracks on the deck, and main platform, a real hazard to commuters. I ride the Subway all the time and I have seen major improvements, unfortunately this station appears to be forgotten. While the MTA has a difficult task at hand in repairing the Subway System, Public Safety should be a priority specially where its a station with high traffic of small children and their Parents, MTA take notice. Never seen so much neglect and rust its worse then a WII Battleship.
