The staff from reception to the technicians assisting the doctor were friendly, professional, providing information about insurance coverage & out of pocket costs, and explaining everything that was being done. This practice is great at making sure you can pay. But not so great at customer care. They ran late. I was shunted from the chair to the hall. They didn't know my dentist had sent over xrays until I told them and then I had to tell them the date they were sent over. And when I wanted an explanation of what they were going to do, the doctor was nowhere to be found. I glimpsed the schedule of patient visits and people were scheduled every 15 minutes throughout the day. The offices weren't big enough to handle that load and the doctors weren't attentive. I realized that I didn't want to work with a practice like that, so I got up from the chair and walked out. I'll find a more customer oriented practice. I've learned over the years that what you see in the first visit is what you get over time. I want my doctors to pay more attention to their patients than they do about whether they can pay the fee. read more

I had a terrible experience with Murray Hill Endodontics and Dr. Shwer, and I see that others on Yelp have similar complaints / issues. In short, Dr. Shwer did a root canal retreat in Nov 2018. I returned numerous times stating that something didn't feel right and that the pain was not gone. Dr. Shwer kept insisting there was nothing wrong, no sign of infection, etc. Eventually it was discovered that there was a perforation during the procedure, which led to an infection, which led to me having to have the tooth removed. I'm now in the process of having an implant. I am in utter disbelief at how much money and time I've spent on a single tooth, and it's nowhere near over. Aside from the mostly friendly staff (thus the 2 stars) I don't recommend this office or Dr. Shwer at all. read more

Be careful! I lost my tooth. I had a root canal done and it was not completely cleaned. Other options were available at the time but were not presented to me during the root canal. Only after when I went to see my General Dentist was I made aware of other options. Six months after the root canal, I found out that there was bone loss due to infection and I could have lost all of my teeth on that side. The tooth had to be extracted. It should have cost $2000 to fix this and now it is going to cost me $6000. read more

PSA: if you have to get a root canal you should go to a endodontist- not a dentist. I learned the hard way with the first root canal. It was done by my dentist who might be great at cleaning teeth but like most dentists she does not specialized in root canals. The root canal took 4 + hours (while listening to the Police's greatest hits on repeat) I highly recommend Murray Hill Endodontics. I couldn't believe how quickly they fixed my second root canal. I had two root canals procedures by Dr. Joodi One was my wisdom tooth. Dr. joodi broke a filling and also cracked a crown. I was in the chair for almost two hours in excruciating pain.I then had to replace the filling and a new crown.Aside from the hours I had to spend in my dentists chair, the aditional costs added up to an extra $3000.I would definitely stay away from this practice.I also asked the practice to adjust my bill to help pay for the $3000.Never responded read more

I have nothing but good to say about my experience at Murray hill orthodontics. The front desk and assistant staff were all courteous and pleasant. Dr Ali Forghani is wonderful, he made sure I was doing ok throughout the procedure. He also reviewed all the radiographic images and explained my options. From start to finish my experience at Murray Hill Endodontics was top notch. I'm deathly afraid of dentists but the dental assistant and Dr. Ali both put me at ease immediately. They waited until I was sufficiently numbed and did their work cleanly, efficiently and fast. I'd say it took about 30 minutes tops. The only downside is having to pay $300 out of pocket for a 3D X-Ray of the tooth but I blame insurance for not covering it. Dr. Ali and his staff couldn't have been more warm or professional. Dr. Forghani is charming and has good chair side manners. He did my root canal in under 45 minutes. I've been completely traumatized in the past with other dentists so I was expecting a lot of pain. Want to give negative stars to Dr. Shwer at this practice. He performed 2 apicos on me in mid-April with the assurance that the procedure was 90% effective and that I would be fine in a week or two. Well I have been in constant unrelenting pain since these procedures.It is now 3 1/2 months. He doesn't care one iota. He got his $5660. His only reaction to my agony is that the surgeries were a success. I have now been diagnosed with Trigeminal Neuralgia Type 2-secondary to dental trauma. Dr.Shwer claims this is not possible and that the surgeries were a success. Well maybe the operation was a success, but the patient died. read more

I was referred to Murray Hill Endodontics by Dr. Blank (an oral surgeon) because I needed a root canal and he could not perform the procedure. During our visit he called over and set up an immediate appointment with Dr. Tina Vani. He told me that she was a fantastic doctor and that I'd be in great hands and he was right. I had never had any major dental work done before, so needless to say although I was in pain, I was a wee bit nervous. Dr. Vani was amazing - I found her to be patient, kind and most important very thorough. She explained the process to me and was also very careful to make sure I was not in any pain during the procedure. She did the first half of the root canal and everything went well and I have a follow up to see her in 10 days to finish the procedure. I visited Dr. Genov to seek a second opinion regarding a root canal diagnosis. After a thorough examination, Dr. Genov advised me that I didn't require a root canal but rather a deep cavity filling. I was impressed by Dr. Genov's work as well as his honesty and integrity. I had my deep cavity filling and two months later I feel much better. Last Friday I had my first ever root canal with Dr. Vani. Having a huge phobia of dentists, I was obviously terrified. Dr. Vani and her assistant didn't seem the least bit bothered by my loooong list of questions. They were so sweet and thorough with each response. Dr. Vani promised that she would stop and take breaks throughout the process (one of my fears was needing to swallow), but I never needed any! They both chatted with me throughout about what they were doing and how I was feeling. I think the once the novocaine kicked in, the whole root canal only really took about 30 minutes (or at least I only had a chance to listen to about 4 songs on my soothing "tooth music" Spotify playlist). I really wanted to hug both Dr. Vani and her assistant when the appointment was over. I would 100% recommend Dr. Vani and Murray Hill Endodontics to anyone who has a fear of dentists or root canals.
