I unexpectedly had to have a "retreat" of a root canal from years ago due to an infection found by my dentist when I came in complaining of a very painful toothache. Murray Hill Endodontics was able to accommodate a next day appointment providing not only relief, but exemplary care in a convenient Midtown location. The staff from reception to the technicians assisting the doctor were friendly, professional, providing information about insurance coverage & out of pocket costs, and explaining everything that was being done. I sincerely appreciated the referral to this doctor & such a fine group. read more

This practice is great at making sure you can pay. But not so great at customer care. They ran late. I was shunted from the chair to the hall. They didn't know my dentist had sent over xrays until I told them and then I had to tell them the date they were sent over. And when I wanted an explanation of what they were going to do, the doctor was nowhere to be found. I glimpsed the schedule of patient visits and people were scheduled every 15 minutes throughout the day. The offices weren't big enough to handle that load and the doctors weren't attentive. I realized that I didn't want to work with a practice like that, so I got up from the chair and walked out. I'll find a more customer oriented practice. I've learned over the years that what you see in the first visit is what you get over time. I want my doctors to pay more attention to their patients than they do about whether they can pay the fee. read more

May Dr. Joodi hands always be blessed. I told her that personally once she completed my first root canal. What a painless experience. A true professional. Highly recommend. read more

I had a terrible experience with Murray Hill Endodontics and Dr. Shwer, and I see that others on Yelp have similar complaints / issues. In short, Dr. Shwer did a root canal retreat in Nov 2018. I returned numerous times stating that something didn't feel right and that the pain was not gone. Dr. Shwer kept insisting there was nothing wrong, no sign of infection, etc. Eventually it was discovered that there was a perforation during the procedure, which led to an infection, which led to me having to have the tooth removed. I'm now in the process of having an implant. I am in utter disbelief at how much money and time I've spent on a single tooth, and it's nowhere near over. Aside from the mostly friendly staff (thus the 2 stars) I don't recommend this office or Dr. Shwer at all. read more

Going to the Endo is never a highlight but I am truly appreciative of my experience at Murray Hill Endodontics. Dr. Mona Joodi and her team are so empathetic and skilled that all worries are gone once you lay in her chair. Very grateful to have found this gem! read more

Just had a pleasant painless treatment and the stuff are all super professional and caring

Dr. Erakin is an outstanding specialist. He created magic with my calcified molar. It was an excellent root canal experience. His assistant was also superb in her job and made the whole process a breeze. Very clean and bright dental clinic. read more

Amazing experience. Dr.Joodi was exceptional. A root canal shouldn't have been this easy but it was!!!

Be careful! I lost my tooth. I had a root canal done and it was not completely cleaned. Other options were available at the time but were not presented to me during the root canal. Only after when I went to see my General Dentist was I made aware of other options. Six months after the root canal, I found out that there was bone loss due to infection and I could have lost all of my teeth on that side. The tooth had to be extracted. It should have cost $2000 to fix this and now it is going to cost me $6000. read more

I was supposed to see Dr. Genov but he was booked and my dentist referred me to see Dr. Forghani. Boy was I happy to see him! Dr. Forghani was extremely helpful and friendly. Dr. Forghani thoroughly explained every detail of my treatment. I appreciate Dr. Forghani and his expertise. Highly recommend him! read more

PSA: if you have to get a root canal you should go to a endodontist- not a dentist. I learned the hard way with the first root canal. It was done by my dentist who might be great at cleaning teeth but like most dentists she does not specialized in root canals. The root canal took 4 + hours (while listening to the Police's greatest hits on repeat) I highly recommend Murray Hill Endodontics. I couldn't believe how quickly they fixed my second root canal. I forgot the dr.'s Name but he was unbelievably delicate when working on my tooth. Here's to hoping I never have to get another root canal... but god forbid I do, I will definitely come back to Murray Hill endodontists read more

Visit to a dentist office is not expected to be pleasant, especially when root canals are concerned. But Murray Hill Endo was a joy from first phone call, intake, scheduling, consultation, treatment option analysis, treatment execution, finally with release procedure and documentation follow up. An absolute 10/10. Dr. Erakin and his exceptional team are the ones you keep. Most importantly procedure was so elegant and painless while complex in nature. The two rarely go together. Not only will I recommend this office to others, I will encourage those who have other endodontists to reconsider. read more

I went in as an emergency due to a swollen face. Everyone there was super sweet. They helped calm me down and reassured me that I was going to be okay. I immediately felt comforted. Dr. Ali took care of me right away. Overall great experience. Very happy with the care I received! read more

Horrible! Referred by my general dentist for root canal. Failed on 1st root canal treatment, and the pain even getting worse than before I received the treatment. Stay away!!!!! read more

I had two root canals procedures by Dr. Joodi One was my wisdom tooth. Dr. joodi broke a filling and also cracked a crown. I was in the chair for almost two hours in excruciating pain.I then had to replace the filling and a new crown.Aside from the hours I had to spend in my dentists chair, the aditional costs added up to an extra $3000.I would definitely stay away from this practice.I also asked the practice to adjust my bill to help pay for the $3000.Never responded read more

I have nothing but good to say about my experience at Murray hill orthodontics. The front desk and assistant staff were all courteous and pleasant. Dr Ali Forghani is wonderful, he made sure I was doing ok throughout the procedure. He also reviewed all the radiographic images and explained my options. I have low tolerance to pain, but the procedure wasn't painful at all. I'll definitely recommend this clinic to anyone (hopefully not) who needs endodontic services. read more

From start to finish my experience at Murray Hill Endodontics was top notch. I'm deathly afraid of dentists but the dental assistant and Dr. Ali both put me at ease immediately. They waited until I was sufficiently numbed and did their work cleanly, efficiently and fast. I'd say it took about 30 minutes tops. The only downside is having to pay $300 out of pocket for a 3D X-Ray of the tooth but I blame insurance for not covering it. Dr. Ali and his staff couldn't have been more warm or professional. Highly recommend if you ever need a root canal. read more

Dr Genov and his staff are excellent. Covid protocols are taken seriously and the patient care is amazing. If you need a root canal go to him!! read more

Dr. Forghani is charming and has good chair side manners. He did my root canal in under 45 minutes. I've been completely traumatized in the past with other dentists so I was expecting a lot of pain. To my surprise there was ZERO pain! I highly recommend him. The staff were super nice and it was on the first floor. The office was very easy to find. I was able to attend a business meeting the next day! read more

Root Canals...not so scary! I was prepared for the worst, but after two root canals, and NO pain after I have nothing but praise for the team in this office. Dr. Genov and assistant Johanna were great, I was never left alone and was always told what was happening. I was given a prescription for pain killers and did not even need them. So happy! read more

Want to give negative stars to Dr. Shwer at this practice. He performed 2 apicos on me in mid-April with the assurance that the procedure was 90% effective and that I would be fine in a week or two. Well I have been in constant unrelenting pain since these procedures. It is now 3 1/2 months. He doesn't care one iota. He got his $5660. His only reaction to my agony is that the surgeries were a success. I have now been diagnosed with Trigeminal Neuralgia Type 2-secondary to dental trauma. Dr.Shwer claims this is not possible and that the surgeries were a success. Well maybe the operation was a success, but the patient died. read more

I was referred to Murray Hill Endodontics by Dr. Blank (an oral surgeon) because I needed a root canal and he could not perform the procedure. During our visit he called over and set up an immediate appointment with Dr. Tina Vani. He told me that she was a fantastic doctor and that I'd be in great hands and he was right. I had never had any major dental work done before, so needless to say although I was in pain, I was a wee bit nervous. Dr. Vani was amazing - I found her to be patient, kind and most important very thorough. She explained the process to me and was also very careful to make sure I was not in any pain during the procedure. She did the first half of the root canal and everything went well and I have a follow up to see her in 10 days to finish the procedure. I would highly recommend Tina Vani if you need any major dental work done. read more

One of the most honest and professional dentists I have come across. They take the time to explain everything and answer all of your questions. Clinically talented and genuinely good people that are there to help you. Highly recommend anyone who may need a root canal to go here. read more

Had a great experience at this office. First, the office is very clean compared to others I have seen and has up to date equipment. I came here because I needed a root canal and was deathly afraid of the procedure. Dr. Vani's staff were very kind and comforting, and the procedure itself was quick and efficient. I read somewhere to listen to music during the procedure helps to alleviate anxiety, and that worked very well too. read more

Dr. Forghani went above and beyond to help me feel comfortable and to educate me about my procedure. Not only is he knowledgeable, but he also knows how to explain everything at the patient level, making me feel extremely at ease the entire time. After having visited 3 other endodontists, he is the only one who was able to correct my problem after having oral pain for 4+ years. And because of this, I am forever grateful! I highly recommend Dr. Forghani! read more

I agree with all the comments concerning Dr. Tina Vani's professionalism, patience and kindness. While it was a root canal procedure, this appointment was the best dentist visit I have had! Aside from the fact that it was PAIN-FREE, she was understanding and considerate. She kept me up-to-date with each step of the procedure and checked-in to ensure I was feeling well. After 45 minutes, I was out the door!! I wish she could take care of all dental needs, including regular teeth cleaning. I would be there! If you are looking for a relatively quick and pleasant experience with a competent and understanding oral surgeon, you have found her!! read more

I had a retreatment of a root canal done by Dr. Shwer. It immediately relieved my pain. I'm very pleased he was able to see me the same day and I will go back for any other needs in the future. He was caring and did an excellent job. Thanks to him and his staff! read more

I visited Dr. Genov to seek a second opinion regarding a root canal diagnosis. After a thorough examination, Dr. Genov advised me that I didn't require a root canal but rather a deep cavity filling. I was impressed by Dr. Genov's work as well as his honesty and integrity. I had my deep cavity filling and two months later I feel much better. I am thankful to Dr. Genov and his excellent staff for a great overall experience. Two thumbs up. read more

If I could get more than five stars I would. Dr Ali Forghani is an excellent endodontist, Waka me step-by-step on what was going to happen, letting me know when to expect a little bit of pain little bit of a pinch Etc. My appointment was on time, I did not have to wait when I got there. The staff was also very friendly and very helpful. It was just a very comforting place to go to. Highly highly highly recommended. read more

I made a trip out to New York and needed a root canal. Dr. Forghani was excellent. He has incredible knowledge of the procedure and kept me comfortable the entire time. He's very personable and I can tell he genuinely cares about his patients. It didn't feel like a doctor visit at all, more like a day with a friend. Thanks for all your help Dr. Forghani! Highly recommend seeing him! read more

Last Friday I had my first ever root canal with Dr. Vani. Having a huge phobia of dentists, I was obviously terrified. Dr. Vani and her assistant didn't seem the least bit bothered by my loooong list of questions. They were so sweet and thorough with each response. Dr. Vani promised that she would stop and take breaks throughout the process (one of my fears was needing to swallow), but I never needed any! They both chatted with me throughout about what they were doing and how I was feeling. I think the once the novocaine kicked in, the whole root canal only really took about 30 minutes (or at least I only had a chance to listen to about 4 songs on my soothing "tooth music" Spotify playlist). I really wanted to hug both Dr. Vani and her assistant when the appointment was over. I would 100% recommend Dr. Vani and Murray Hill Endodontics to anyone who has a fear of dentists or root canals. They will absolutely change your perspective. read more
