Mmmm, I enjoyed this tuna melt sandwich

I've been here several times for breakfast-I've enjoyed scrambled eggs, hash browns, toast. Always good. Service is always nice and helpful. Today, I felt like having a tuna melt for lunch. (Tuna, melted American cheese, on rye toast) It was brought to the table open-faced, but when I combined the top and bottom it was more like the height of the sandwich I had pictured in my mind. LOL. and it was very good. It came with a terrific sour pickle half, and a small portion of Cole slaw. A satisfying meal. I'll update again whenever I try something else from the menu. But, I like the Murray Hill Diner. I do recommend it. There are no stairs upon entry/exit, but if you need to use the rest room there is one or two steps up/down. Same floor as tables. Clean rest room.

Stopped by Murray Hill Diner for breakfast and left with mixed feelings. I had scrambled eggs with two sausages and home fries. The food was fine--nothing spectacular--just the kind of breakfast you'd expect from any standard diner. Service was decent overall, and the food came out fast. Coffee refills were on point, which I appreciated. However, I did ask for my home fries well done, and the server mentioned the cooks are busy and usually make it one way--but he'd ask. Spoiler: they came out just the regular way, not crispy at all. A small thing, but annoying nonetheless. The space itself felt a bit cramped, which made the experience less comfortable. In the end, it's a decent enough spot if you're nearby and need a quick bite, but there's nothing here that would make me go out of my way to come back.

Classic NY diner. We went for a filling breakfast before exploring the city, and we were not disappointed. The pancakes, omelette, and hash browns were HUGE and delicious. The coffee came in a stereotypical cup with a thick rim. Service was great until it was time to get our bill, our server was hard to find at that point. No big deal. A good crowd, but we were seated right away and our food came reasonably quickly.

This was the bill I received for a BLT and ice coffee. I left a. $5.00 tip .

On the walk in not as welcoming and or as diverse as I be would think. I am going this establishment one star as I was not welcomed on the walk in. I said good morning and heard nothing in return. I say this because of course I sit at the counter and observe while I wait for my food and observe all WP walk in the establishment be greeted walking in and when they approached the counter to order their food. This is not new to be but I will say it is definitely not acceptable. I ordered my food in addition to an iced coffee that was ok. I left a $5.00 tip to the waiter behind the counter because once she saw I spoke Spanish her entire demeanor started to change. Again, not something I am not use to, it's just not an experience I forget when I am in the area and want to order food. I will say this to the owner. Downtown is not just for one specific race or gender. Anyone who comes through your door came through and is intentional about patronizing your business. Please train your staff to treat everyone the same. You never know who you are in the company of!!! You could be entertaining an angel who will bless you. People see you before they hear you treat everyone equally!!!

This small yet cozy diner offers what you would expect in a typical American diner. Our brunch food was great. The service could have been better. To their defense, it was a busy mid morning. We enjoyed our black coffee and the eggs were cooked just like we like them.

I ate here for a quick brunch around peak time, 12pm on a Saturday. For a group of 2, we were seated immediately at a booth. The restaurant was busy but they served us quickly. The omelette was tasty, and I ate half at the restaurant and took the other half to go. However, when I ate the omelette later I found eggshells in the omelette which made me lose my appetite to finish it. Probably wouldn't specifically choose this place again, but if I need a spot for a quick brunch I would consider trying something else on the menu.

Ordered an egg and cheese on a roll here and it hit the spot! I really appreciated how the egg wasn't overcooked and how soft and warm the roll was. Looking forward to ordering from here again!

Solid neighborhood diner! I needed something that wouldn't be terrible for me digest as I had just come from having a procedure done and ended up getting the avocado toast with soft poached eggs. The eggs were not runny, but I didn't mind. It had a ton of avocado, tomato and onions and I even appreciated how they cut off the tip of the toast! My partner had chicken fingers and fries. They were more like big chicken cutlets! Nicely fried, fries were hot. My partner also got a chocolate milkshake that was pretty well made. The portions were huge, service was friendly and prompt. Would come again!

A go-to local eatery that's reliably good. The beauty of a diner is the availability of almost any kind of food, regardless of time of day. This falls into play for me at breakfast. I'm not often in the mood for eggs, unlike T who's up for eggs any time, any day. So I ordered chicken salad on toasted white (a bread I rarely want) with lettuce and tomato. My husband ate what one would consider a traditional American breakfast. I remembered that Murray Hill does a particularly good job with pancakes. Service was good, coffee refills kept coming, and we left nicely fueled ready to start our day.

You're not dining Michelin here, but it is a good spot that hits the spot with their food and coffee. They really move things well, and quickly so wait times are often minimal, staff is speedy, yet you don't feel rushed. The ambiance is, well, diner. It is diner booths and tables, typical heavy duty diner dishes and basic cutlery, but that's perfect for this establishment. Not our first time here, and won't be our last, as the pricing is also reasonable.

I haven't been here in a very long time and thankfully it hasn't changed very much. I went with the Acropolis Omelette that had gyro meat. It was delicious. It came with a side of hash browns which were crispy and rye toast. I added a side of bacon "just because." Coffee refills are still free, which is great. The food is what it is, fast, tasty and filling. The prices are up but not outrageous. I realize that a lot of diners have closed in NYC due to costs and regulations but I'm glad this one is still here. Diners are one of the things I really miss since I left NYC.
