I contacted Larry through Yelp, and he was very responsive. He came out a few hours later to give.me.an estimate. The price was fair and he seemed reliable, so I hired him to do the work in 3 or 4 days. Due to weather and scheduling other projects, he actually came out just 2 days later. It was fantastic to drive up to my house and see a brand-new gate. Larry and his assistant were finishing up with the post. They had to remove a patch of concrete, then pour new concrete. The new post is very sturdy. Both of them were polite and friendly. Larry said he prefers cash or cashier's checks for payment. Based on this job, I highly recommend Heartland.

I asked them politely to move it as this is not a legal place to park (especially when loading it with fences using a forklift). They were less than receptive and asked me 'Is it your trail?' and a few other choice words I won't write here. They ignored me so I called the number of the company on the truck. The receptionist initially refused to connect me to someone in charge (Rob, apparently) and told me I had no issue if I had not been 'physically touched'. I have not used these guys for fencing services but if their public interaction is any indication they are to be avoided. What kind of people use physical violence as a legitimacy bar by which to measure a complaint about their illegal parking and obstruction of a pedestrian and bicycle public trail. The builders spent a lot of time shirtless and smoking cigarettes in my backyard. They had to to come back out to our property 3 times within the first two weeks because of issues. Issue #1: They forgot to concrete in 3 posts. Issue#2: They damaged a panel when they were installing it, they noticed this and then proceeded to turn the panel the other direction facing my neighbors house so that we wouldn't notice. My neighbor witnessed them do this. Issue#3 The gate latch ripped completely off of the gate week 1. Issue#4 The gate installed at the back of our yard was not installed properly and would only open about 6 inches. Our fence is now almost 3 years old. The vinyl fencing has many cracks. The company claims that this is normal and to be expected.

It often seems that communication and getting a response is one of the toughest hurdles to cross with completing home projects. Luckily, they were on it with the RAQ feature on Yelp. The project: rebuilding a 75' privacy fence along the one side of our property to match the other two sides. We were happy with the quote and timeline and moved forward on the project. The one thing that I think would have kicked this experience up a notch would be proactive communication updates on the project each day - even if it were a simple text of where things stand. Based on original conversations, it appeared that knocking out the project in two days would be possible (we and our neighbors both have big dogs to keep separated).unfortunately, the project ended up being more of a five day endeavor due to an error by the builders (the Pretty side of the fence was built facing the wrong direction but they quickly corrected it after we addressed it). Overall, the end result was a beautiful fence despite a few bumps along the road.

I would absolutely use them again and highly recommend. We added a double wide gate as well and really like that so much better!
