Murphy's is one of the nicest pubs in Daingean Uí Chúis (Dingle), and this is reflected in how busy the place is on a typical evening. During our weekend camping and hiking trip on the peninsula, we wanted to spend one night in the town, and chose Murphy's as our haunt. We had a full meal, including dessert, as well as drinks, so I feel confident in my rating. The food menu is very extensive, all sorts of seafood, roasts, curry, pasta etc. There are also daily specials, and it was from that list that we chose our meals. I had a fantastic roast pork dinner with all the trimmings, and the other members of the party had a lamb stew and a seafood dish. The portion sizes were large, and all the food was delicious. I was almost (but not quite) too full to have a dessert, but ended up having a piece of apple AND rhubarb crumble- amazing. All the food was washed down with a selection of pints- Smithwicks, Guinness, Harp etc. Service was friendly, though not always the most efficient, and prices are average for the main street in this town, which is perhaps slightly above the Irish average. To top off the evening, there was a duo of guitarists and singers playing out the night with traditional Irish songs and tunes. I understand this happens every night during the summer. Stopped in here for lunch. We had a variety of soups, beers and I added a fish and chips to my order. The beers were good, the soups were better than most seafood chowders we had (not the best but better), and the fish and chips were hot and too much to handle by the time I had the seafood chowder and wolfed down the beer. I ate here once in 2009 and again on our recent visit in June 2013. Both times I just felt "meh" about the experience. The food is regular pub food; nothing special and actually not that good. The atmosphere is also kind of blah. With so many wonderful, glorious spots in Dingle, I really wouldn't recommend patroning Murphy's, unless you're on a Dingle pub crawl. The sole redeemer of Murphy's is their terrific service - waiters and waitresses are quick to take orders and bring you your meal and beer. read more

Mediocre food, mediocre atmosphere, but good service. Only stopped in here because it's my namesake, and I'll be damned if I don't stop into every Murphy's I encounter in Ireland. But really, not that impressive. Priced alright for the area, and should be a decent spot facing the water. But I was very underwhelmed. Had the fish and chips, which I ordered because the bartender couldn't tell me if the fish was caught local, or caught today (so I opted for fried). Salad that came with it had a strange corm relish on top, but that was probably the tastiest part of the whole meal. A couple of my chips weren't cooked well. Like I said, good enough, but I experienced so many other more fun places in Dingle with better food. read more

Great friendly atmosphere. We stopped in for lunch after walking around Dingle. I can't speak for what parking is like here but there is plenty of pay and display places around town. The food was served fast, fresh and hot. It was solid bar food in what could have been a tourist trap. I would have stopped here to sample the dinner menu if time had provided. read more

Attention tourists !! Do not eat here. Not sanitary. You will get sick. Good. -Staff was friendly and fun. I hate giving this place a bad review for the above reason. However, I feel compelled to warn others so they don't get sick. -The beer was good. Bad. -The food was not good. It was small, tasteless, and it made me and my significant other sick for a full week. Ugly. -The food was like poison! Imagine flying for 12 hours with gut wrenching pain. Blergh. I came here with high hopes during a day visit to Dingle. The menu posted outside sounded good and they had larger seatings for our party of 6. Myself and two friends at the table had the special which was smoked salmon wrapped in cod with a white wine cream sauce. Sounds good right? I thought so too until one by one I watched each of my table mates fall ill with massive food poisoning one by one. Mind you I have an iron clad stomach and usually can handle abuse from questionable food. Whatever cooties were in my meal were warriors. The last few days of my Ireland visit were spent hanging around a toilet feeling like death was playing a cruel trick on me. Aside from making most of us sick, the place was clean and adorned standard Irish pub decor, the service was lackluster. I would avoid this place like the plague it gave me. read more

Went to Murphy's before beginning the Slea Head drive around the Dingle Peninsula. It is a typical cute pub with a bar, tables, and a toasty fireplace. I got the seafood chowder which I had several times while in Ireland, and this was the best one. Murphy's is a traditional Irish pub located on the waterfront of Dingle Bay. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. The service is adequate. I had a burger which was one of the best I've ever had. The sear on the burger patties was amazing and the seasoning was on point. My parents had the soup and fish and chips and both seemed happy. The music was good but the place gets packed after about 9 pm. The beer is served cold just like every other pub in Ireland. read more

Come on, Lowell. Are you sure you weren't eating at Harrington's Fish and Chips just down the street? Now that place sucked. The food here was good, the service was good but they were not overbearing, which meant we had to ask for a desert menu and more water once. This may be the only place we ate dinner in all of Ireland where the bill was under $50 for the food alone. AND - the music was good, too. read more

This is a really fun place to be. Very friendly place, the staff wants to accommodate everyone no matter how packed it is with a smile and the Irish hospitality we love. Went to Murphy's for a pint of Guinness and heard the Irish coffee was to die for. Obviously I.ordered a cup and it was the best choice I've ever had.
