If you stop off in Dingle town, or Baile an Daingean, you'll be in the most westerly town in Europe! The only town on the Dingle peninsular is a mass of tempting bars, (there are around 50), but particularly you'd do well to seek out O'Flaherty's. It's a very well known live music venue in Dingle, and a very characterful place with its flagstoned floor and high ceiling, it's one big barn of a room. The walls, if you've time to read or can get near enough, are a mine of information both on local & more general Irish history. As our group were typically the last to leave, I had time to peruse a lot of this! I'd heard it was quite touristy, but maybe thats high season, when I was here in October there was an lot of Irish being spoke, very strong Irish speaking tradition in this peninsular. The landlord Fergus O'Flaherty has been an active member of the campaign to restore Dingle's original name: Daingean uí chúis, or the fortress of Hussy, (the Hussy's apparently being a flemish family who built a castle here in 13th C.). indeed in 2005 the government duly allowed the gaeltach, (Irish speaking), to have precedence, and the anglicised name Dingle was officially done away with, on some signs however the name has been painted back, maybe by concerned locals who are worried the all important tourists for the area might get lost! It's the best bar for evenings, more space than Dick Macks. It's got a truly great atmostphere, the Guinness is everything it should be, and the prices reasonable. As I said our contingent was the last to leave, and no one was hurrying us out! So have a nice jar here and Sláinte Mhath!

Live session started around 10PM.

I wish we had pubs like these in the States. Affordable drinks and plenty of friendly chatter. We stayed late for the live session, which we really enjoyed!

Pint of smithwick (local amber ale)

Typical pub, was fun no more no less. If you're looking for an Irish pub and you want that experience, this fits in perfectly fine.

We liked this small bar. Cozy. Had some good music. Also, it had a Milwaukee Irish Fest sticker, which made us feel at home.

We recently spent two nights in Dingle and loved O'Flaherty's pub with its traditional Irish music.

Had a fantastic experience at this cozy pub in Dingle! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere…read morewas warm and welcoming--exactly what you hope for in a traditional Irish pub. I have to give a special shoutout to the vegan burger--it was absolutely outstanding. Perfectly cooked, packed with flavor, and thoughtfully put together with great toppings and a delicious bun. It's not always easy to find a truly satisfying vegan option in a pub, but this one exceeded expectations. The veg soup was also really good--comforting, hearty, and clearly homemade. And the salad greens were incredibly fresh and crisp, which added a nice, light balance to the meal. Great food, friendly service, and a lovely setting. I'd definitely come back next time I'm in Dingle!

We were seated at a nice booth, and next to an interesting group of folks speaking French. Our waitress was fun and engaging, even when she told us that they were out of Smithwicks. I gladly chose a glass of Rockshore Lager instead. My Lunch choice was an Open Ploughman, as it looked interesting and wanted to avoid yet another Irish meal featuring potatoes. That was pretty tasty, as was Gayle's Prawn and Salmon dish. Nice place!
