Found this place while in the area working. Ordered the lemon chicken that was wonderful. My friend ordered a large meal that basically consisted of an entire thanksgiving meal. He said it was the best meal we had found in the Poconos so far. Not only was the food great, but the atmosphere was even better. The bartender was great to talk to, I got to try a few local shandy beers that were on tap, and walked away full. I definitely wanted to stop by to try out more of the menu, but only did not have time to do so (otherwise I planned to just eat my way down the menu). read more

Was in the neighborhood for a 3day getaway from NYC and omg am I glad I tried Murphys. Food was AMAZING! We had the 2 specials... a beef soup and creamy pasta and both were seriously to die for. Absolutely perfect place to go to if you'd like to wait an hour and a half for a cold stale appetizer in dead silence hearing the members of your party breathe - as you have to pay to listen to music. Really enjoyed the coked up elderly waitress/bartender/cook running past us as it provided some type of cooling fan in the vicinity. Table next to us may have had it even worse. I'm deeply shocked at the amount of positive reviews of this place. Finally received my burger and found it to be a nicely charred ROCK. I'm sure the starving would like this place. read more

Picked this place as a midway point for a friend of ours to meet us today. We haven't visited in over 1 year. Loved the decor and especially loved our waitress Brittany. All 3 of us started with a cup of their homemade clam chowder. Delicious! Then my husband had the french onion burger w/fries, I had a Reuben sandwich with chips and your friends had the sesame chicken salad. All 3 of us raved about your meals. Miserable hostess who will not cater to anyones needs She told our guests she couldnt sit outside and eat due to her bringing her dog because it was against the law. We called prior to see if there was space for ten and when we got there she was very rude wouldnt hear us out even though we called We settled on sitting at the bar despite her disgusting attitude and rolling eyes We all felt weird I would give the bar tender there five thousands stars He was attentive very funny and always was so nice to us despite everything that happened. Where do I start....Stay home...Thats where I would start...im just gonna say things that happened in bullet point .served us mozzarella sticks that rolled on a dirty serving tray, waitress stated let me go cook new ones, she just took the ones and put them on a new plate and brought them back out .never got two of our drinks we ordered .steaks ordered med came out burnt/well done .food was cold .fish was frozen .Reuben.was soggy .I had to go to the bar twice to get our own refills That's just some of the issues. I love to try new restaurants while traveling rather than chain restaurants Never again. I will not be returning. read more

We used to come here because the service and food were good...not any more. I tried to overlook a lot of flaws because of the current situation, but they weren't even busy while we were there. To start, the waitress spilled my drink and never cleaned it up, even asked multiple waitresses for napkins so I could only for them to ignore me. Then when the food came out after a long wait, it was cold and old. The bread for the sandwiches were stale and hard as a rock, fries were cold and limp, and salad was wilted and brown. To top it all off, I had to ask for another drink rather than be asked even though the wait staff passed the table several times and not once did anyone check on us. I will never come here again and advise no one waste their hard earned money, especially during these difficult times. You can get a better meal at Wawa down the street and it will actually be good. read more

Well I went back again for Monday night 50cent chicken wings pick your own toppings... I had 4 of 10 outside hot and mild...had the honey & bacon, ,sriracha, ranch & chipotle, and Thai chili must say Thai chili and honey and bacon were tied for the best. The loaded fries with cheddar cheese and bacon were something to fight over. Their staff is very friendly and makes you feel at home. What a great place !!! read more

This is one of those restaurants that has been here forever. I remember coming here as a kid with my family, and on a recent trip to the area, figured it was time to stop by and see if it had changed. Best it can tell, the only thing that's really changed in the past 20 years is that you can actually breathe in there now - it's no longer polluted with cigarette smoke (though both when I entered and exited, there were a number of smokers standing right in front of the main entrance. Although I guess they're going for the Irish pub vibe, I didn't see too much on the menu that was Irish-inspired. I did get a killer chicken cheesesteak which i would come back for - and there were a few interesting beers that I hadn't had before. Prices were a bit on the high side for the area, but this is a solid choice if you're looking to grab dinner. read more

We haven't been here for dinner in quite a few years but we went for breakfast about a month ago and it was pretty good.

I saw Murphy's Loft on the list of restaurants within our area, and it looked like the perfect place to grab a beer and some bar food after our time on the slopes. It did not disappoint! It had a hole-in-the-wall, divey feel complete with vintage ski equipment, slot machines, and The Godfather playing on the big screen at the bar. We were met by a friendly, spunky bartender named Sydney. I hate making my own food decisions so I went with her suggestion of the chicken Cheesesteak and waffle fries! They were both top notch. Would absolutely order again. She also finagled me an espresso martini with some random stuff behind the bar and it was delicious. The good food and drinks were accompanied by movie commentary from the bartenders and banter from the regulars. It felt like home even though I've never even been to the town before. Great food, great service! Last night was only our second time here ever (we're from out of the area), and we will definitely keep coming back when we can. Appetizer was garlic cauliflower wings (excellent); I got a tremendous serving of turkey with mashed potatoes & stuffing (the stuffing was layered within the turkey slices), accompanied by at least a half can of jellied cranberry sauce (the dinner also came with soup). My wife got prime rib, which was deliciously peppery. Dessert was delicious turtle cheesecake. Perhaps best of all was the service by waitress Donna - attentive, warm, friendly, offering suggestions. My wife and I agreed that she was one of the best servers we've ever had (I'm in my 60s). Rustic roadside bar vibe - the structure is a log cabin. Was excited to check this place out. Looks super cute from the outside but once you enter your yelled at by the bartender "someone will seat you in a minute" no warm welcome here. Fifteen minutes later after asking to place an order....The salmon was dry & horrible, oily rice pilaf & a topper full of rolling eye attitude from bartender when asked to split a check. Maybe better service at a table, but def don't sit at the bar & expect any sort of Pocono good feels. read more

Came here last weekend with my girl on a snowy night Ask the waiter how was the chicken parm he answer the best thing in the menu. Also asked how was the stuffed pork chop he answers the second best dish. Well have to say they both was disappointing the pork chop was not really a pork chop it was a thick piece of ham wrapped on stove top stuffing. The chicken parm had thick ass breading. I think the place is great. I've been here a couple of times and I stick with more basic food but it's very good. The place is nice but not fancy. You can be very comfortable here. This was the worst service we ever had. We seated ourselves & had to look for server. They were confused as to who was our going to be our server and took a while to bring us menus & drinks...The waitress came & went & she disappeared. Like she went to the bar. Interesting Bar/Tavern Restaurant. Historic building and decor catch your attention first. Hostess was very welcoming. We sat on the enclosed porch with nice weather to enhance our late lunch. Continue thru the porch area to find an open patio and a bar and a pool, surprise. You can swim if you are eating/drinking or pay $5. Our waitress was experienced and provided excellent service. This place is great ! I like sitting outside by the pool and ordering great food and drinks and you can swim And use the pool ! Also the rooms are nice and right next door so you can walk without even getting in the car and it's right next to the highway and feels safe. It's not far from penns peak and the Pocono raceway and lake harmony. And great hiking spots like hawk falls are already to find and beautiful with lots of families on the trail last time. Haven't been here in over 29 years, stopped in last night, Saturday March 9th, with my son and my wife, and wasn't disappointed. Everything was exactly how I remembered it.
