I wanted to leave a review of my experience with Murphy's electric. I had a bad breaker switch that continued to flip off that controlled my garage doors and garage power. It was late in the day, and after reading several reviews of electricians in my area, I chose Murphy's. Shane, the owner, answered the phone. Mind you, it was late in the day, like 4:30pm, and I told Shane what my issue was. He told me he would stop by on his way home and take a look at it, that same day! Sure enough, Shane showed up, professional, nice and very knowledgeable enough to explain to me what was going on and what could be done in the future to bring my current setup into current code. After troubleshooting, Shane replaces a GFI plug in my garage and then proceeded to tighten every screw on my electric switch panel. As we did not know if that would completely fix the issue, at that point in the day and without being able to lock down what exactly it was without trial and error due to time, we left it at that and everything seemed to work properly. Unfortunately the next morning, the breaker had flipped off, so I realized that didn't quite fix it. I called Shane, updated him on what was going on, so he scheduled his tech to come back over and change out a switch on the switch panel. Boom, that was it! No more problems, and instead of waiting a week or longer to get someone out, I will as up and going, no worries of electrical fires and all is well and good since. I waited a bit to leave my review to make sure everything was working properly and my review was accurate. Had these guys come out and change some outdated and unsafe panel boxes and upgrade my home from 100 amp to 200 amp service. Shane came out and gave a free estimate and was the only electrician who didn't try to add on projects or give an insane price. He then scheduled the service to be done at a fair price for the very next week. He was very informative and honest. When it was time for the work to be done, he sent enough people to make sure I would only be without electricity for one day. The guys he sent out, led by Journeyman Edwin were courteous, professional, and hard working. They let me know everything they were doing and made sure I knew everything I needed to know before they left. And when it came time to pay, the amount of owed was exactly what was quoted. Electricity is something we take for granted. It's like "You never want a drink of water until the well runs dry." I was having many electrical issues, and actually lived without power in half of my house almost two months. The home warranty people fixed half the problem, but couldn't figure out the rest. I found Murphy's electric on Home Adviser, and talked honestly about my limited budget, income, etc. They fixed all my issues efficiently, and in a timely manner all while keeping my budget in check. Murphy's Electric figured out a problem that two other well-known electric companies could not. The guys were professional and very careful working around the dishes while fixing the under-cabinet lighting. The lighting worked perfectly - something we have been dealing with for 2 1/2 years. Finally, it was fixed! They, also, fixed several inside and outside plugs. Again, something other companies could not figure out. After having AT&T out on an unrelated cable issue, AT&T notified me that I had a problem with my house not being properly grounded. I immediately called Murphy's Electric and even though it was late and about to rain Shane came out and immediately fixed the problem. I was so impressed with the professional and immediate response. He had a younger apprentice and I appreciated his politeness in explaining the job and dealing with the young man. They worked quickly and left no mess for us to clean up. We had a great experience. The team was punctual, worked quickly and left the work area clean. They replaced 16 recessed flood lights in the house with LED light kits, installed dimmer switches throughout the house, changed bulbs in ceiling fans, and even wiped the fan blades off. We have very high ceilings and could not reach most of the lights. Not a problem for them! We will definitely use their services again. read more

I had a broken electric meter that caused a power fluctuation at my house, resulting in the power company having to turn the power completely off. Shane and a helper came out and repaired the meter and also also called Entergy to come back out and restore the power. He was very polite and worked safely and efficiently.
