First time in Chicago. Checking out Murphy bar order a few inexpensive drinks and have amazing service from our waitress. We go to utilize a charging outlet (we had our own charger) and we noticed a wireless charger unoccupied and used it. The front security guard rather than saying please don't use my charger decided to say "DONT EVER USE MY FUCKING CHARGER WITHOUT ASKING" to my mother! Not only saying that to guest in your city but to a woman none the less?! I wish he had the balls to talk to me that way. The Manager comp'ed our $12 bill. Awesome experience. Sluggers across the street is a couple dollars more per drink but a way better experience. Oh yo top it off I utilized their self device charging station. Murphy's is a really solid spot. The biggest con is that it's right underneath the train so it can be a pretty loud environment, but if you're there during a game or when it's a busy weekend, it shouldn't really matter. Good selection of beers on tap and the food fulfills the duty of "I'm drinking and would now like to eat". I wouldn't come here exclusively for the bites, but it's a fun time especially for a group of friends. read more

Oh my! This place, hands down, Aaahmazing! While I'm traveling away for work I always take time to try out new places and we stumbled upon "Murphys Bleachers" such an iconic place as they say. Mind you, I had never even heard about this famous place, I guess it's for locals only (or it may be I wasn't aware it was so iconic) it's across from the Wrigley field. While checking out the neighborhood is when we came across and said we definitely had to give this place a try. *CUBS World Series* of course is happening, so you can imagine the crowd. GO CUBS! While looking at the menu, not knowing much about the food selections we saw they had "Murphys famous 1/2 pound burger* we had to get it, "how can we try other things when this is their signature dish* We were intrigued by how amazing it looked, just imagine the taste. First bite, it was an outstanding taste, we were in disbelief. We knew we had chosen right. Definitely check this place out if you're ever by the Wrigley field. It also helped that they had such friendly staff and our waitress was the sweetest( I can't remember her name) but she went out of her way to get me some stickers I had asked for and placed them in our car windshield while we went out to loom around the neighborhood. This bar is the perfect compliment to drinking before and after Cubs games at Wrigley Field. Murphy's is much larger than it looks from the outside. There are 20 or so tables outside the bar in a gated off area so you can enjoy your beer outdoors. Although these tables fill up extremely fast and early on game days. When I walked into Murphy's, there was a large bar with a large crowd. Luckily they had 4 bartenders working this bar and they were able to serve us rather quickly. The bartender whipped up a few solid Bloody Mary's since it was 10:30am in no time. After that I walked around and saw that they had 3 or so concession stand like counters serving burgers, fries, sausages, dogs and a few other things. There was also another bar in the back with a lot less people huddling around. They also had 10-15 beers on tap in case you wanted a microbrew. Murphy's had a great vibe for pre-gaming. I was able to get drinks fast from a friendly bartender and able to converse with my friends without screaming. I'll definitely stop back in when I'm in Wrigleyville again. read more

While this looks like a tiny corner bar, looks can be deceiving. Inside there are multiple rooms and outdoor spaces. On busy game days, don't get stuck ordering from the front bar. Go farther in for faster service. If you go all the way to the back, you'll find that you can order a Chicago style hot dog or corn on the cob. Gotta load up in calories before drinking all that beer at the game. Suppose you're an out of town fan like me. Prepare for some light hearted heckling. It was so nice to be back on Murphy's patio yesterday! Due to limited seating, they maintained a wait list as tables became available... so get there early. The atmosphere was busy and friendly with the staff fully masked and gloved up. Customers are required to wear face masks upon entering the bar and leaving their table (go to the restroom or exit). This place is a really cool spot for pre-game drinks! Among the cold beers you get all the history of Wrigley all around you and fans all in one place! To me its hands down one of the better parts of Wriggleyville. We took an Uber from the hotel and it was easy to get to and arrived a few hours before the game. After a little walk we were able to walk in with no problem and to the bar. To me this place is a mix of game day, tradition and fun! It's packed but the atmosphere is worth it. I was there today being taken care of by Vanessa and Nick Pope and this guy named Josh with a voluptuous pony tail. They were amazing!!!!! I had the 14 unbreaded wings recommend by them. They were fantastic. We were never left without service, they really work as a team here. Prices were great and service was better. We just moved to the neighborhood but this is likely going to be our go to spot. The manager Steph stopped by our table to check and see if everything was good and it was. Murphy's is a great little bar right behind Wrigley Field. I imagine on game days, this would be the place to be! I was pleasantly surprised by the prices. I had the Italian beef, thinking that it was a Chicago classic, and was a little disappointed by it. The tater tot side was pretty good though. We also had mozzarella sticks and they were great! Everyone working their was so nice and accommodating with which sporting events everyone wanted on tv. I also LOVED that they were dog friendly and had dogs coming in and out the entire time. I suspect Murphy's isn't as lively and exciting on non-game days. However, I only go here when I go to Cubs games, so my a fair-warning about my review: I have absolutely no clue what this place is like in the winter. Every time I come here, the entire area is open. Murphy's is huge, with multiple bars and outdoor areas connecting everything. I'm assuming that during bleaker weather the outdoor areas aren't readily used as anything more than a connector to a different section of the bar, but whenever I go, there are groups of people in all areas. There's also a lot of historic Cubs decor, and great drink prices. I've been lucky on a couple occasions and came when they have 312 buckets on special. I can't say much for the food, but the atmosphere and the drink prices will definitely have me coming back whenever I'm in Wrigleyville. read more

If your looking for a dumpy place where you can act stupid this is the place. The owner or manager is just a ray of sunshine who reminds me of that old man that screams get my off lawn. (Perhaps his mother didn't hug him enough). Anyway his rudeness is perfect for the place, and when I told him I would never recommend this place to anyone he responded with good. Really kind of stupid on his part because I bring million dollar groups to Wrigley Field and I will be sure he never gets a dime of it. read more

Alright, I absolutely loved the location of this restaurant! Right behind center field with a great patio area. Totally gives you a classic feel when you go inside as well. Food was great too! Unfortunately, I'm giving this place a 2 star bc of the low quality service. While we were eating there, bees decided to join our lunch and kept swarming us. I asked one of the servers for a fly swap and he basically just raised his shoulders while saying no as he walked away. At the end of the meal, our main server brought us the check and we gave him two cards (evenly split) and he complained saying "ugh, two cards?" Soooo we purchased tickets for this st Patrick's day event. The tickets include "massive breakfast buffet, a DJ, beads and hats etc". LET ME TELL YOU THE LIES !!! No DJ!!! The music was not great at all. Seriously. The "massive buffet" was just eggs, fruit, hashbrowns, sausage and bagels. These tickets were not cheap. The drinks were subpar if ordered at the back bar, but slightly better at the front bar from the older lady. Still garbage though. We asked for the DJ and the lady seemed confused. There aren't even tables here!!! But the website says we could have reserved one. I'm grateful we got these cheaper on Groupon or I'd be super mad. We'll just keep drinking. This was my first time at Murphys and I'll definitely be back. I normally go out on Clark but made my way over here today. My bartender Claire was very knowledgeable on beer and made me order something I wouldn't have normally ordered and I loved it!
