Steak sandwich special Friday nights and sometimes saturday
    David W.

Murphy's Bar and Grill is a hole in the wall bar located on Olive next to Pink Galleon and others. However, don't let the exterior fool you. The interior is awesome! They have 2 medium sized rooms with a bar in the middle connecting them. A good amount of seating. We came here on a Saturday during college football and the bar area was full with a couple people here and there in the dining areas. They have really big, new, nice TVs that are showing all the games. They have cheap drink specials and food randomly throughout the week (usually at night). We ordered a couple beers, and their special steak sandwich. It was probably a 8-12 ounce steak cut in half and both halves put in a deliciously flavored piece of toast Honestly, this might be my new place for game day, whether it's Thursday night Football / NBA, or Saturday / Sunday Football. Only downside is that I guess you can smoke in here (the time I went we didn't see anyone smoking, but it does smell like it) Cheap awesome standard bar food, with cheap beer, and awesome TVs, lots of room and not too crowded!!

I will never drink there again. Drinks suck, no alcohol. Basic food, much better places to go to.

Not only did he do so, he went many steps above & beyond the call of duty to do so. He invited me back in for another try, to allow me to sample the food as it was meant to be. The first thing I notice what the music was extremely pleasant & welcoming, so a great ambiance. I was greeted by Drew's manager John, who was made aware of my situation & he asked me what I'd like to try & of course...I was thrilled just to have a sample of the chicken salad, the rotisserie chicken & the burnt ends. John prepared for me a very nice plate of a 1/2 rotisserie chicken, a few pieces of the burnt ends & a healthy sample of the chicken salad. (I have to note....the 1st time I tried this, it was the very best chicken salad I've EVER had, hence my enthusiasm for wanting it again!) Honestly, I felt as though I was in a different restaurant than I was the night I had come there with friends! The chicken salad was as amazing as I tried it the first time, the rotisserie chicken was juicy, tender & well seasoned & the burnt ends were a treat in and of themselves! Tender, juicy, full of flavor and something one might consider crave-able. My first experience here was amazing and the friends that took me here come all the time raving about it. I shared that experience with them, and therefore couldn't wait until I could bring a group of friends with me to enjoy this gem in Creve Couer. When I wrote my initial review, it was not with the intent to bash the owner, the restaurant or the employees that work hard to provide the experience we all come to expect. I simply wanted to reach out to the owner so that he knew what was going on while he was not here. If he's not here, he won't know. If I don't take the time out to say what is wrong - how will he know that maybe something needs to be corrected? I am the first one to make sure an establishment knows when they are doing things RIGHT (and not too many take the time to do so). This was literally the very first negative review I've ever given, and this experience and how well the owner & his manager handled it taught me a valuable lesson. Instead of writing something out there to the public, I will make a phone call from now on to seek the kind of caring resolution that I did receive! I am sincerely grateful for Drew's expeditious response to my review, his resolution, and John's tremendous execution of that resolution. I'LL BE BACK OFTEN - 5 STARS 4 SURE

They give you complimentary buns that are colorful, we thought they were different flavors but they were all the same. They were pretty good. The had a regular menu and also still had a valentine menu. After reviewing all the menu options and chose the Carnitas Bowl from the Valentine menu. It was a good choice! Food came out pretty quickly. Mine arrived as ordered with no cheese and the eggs over easy. The flavor was so good! Potatoes, carnitas, onion, tomato, jalapeno, two eggs, avocado, and Fiesta Guac Salsa. Lots of flavor. I decided to get an Oat and Honey shake; banana, oatmeal, honey, amaranth, almond milk, and cinnamon. It has a delicious flavor but not thick as I anticipated, more like a smoothie. Lots of options, good food, nice and quick service,

As they should on NYE. Still, we never felt rushed. In fact, our waiter, Todd, was very attentive and even slowed down another server who was going to bring us our salads (a house and a caesar with anchovies) before we had a chance to finish our appetizer (a savory and spicy jambalaya arancini). Good catch on his part. We both had a glass of prosecco to start and then split a bottle of French pinot noir (Domaine de Valmoissine) to go with our entrees (steak tip pasta and steak frites). My wife loved the pasta dish (fresh pappardelle with steak tips, demiglace cream sauce and shiitake mushrooms) and my steak was perfectly prepared medium-rare with crisp and flavorful garlic fries and a side of green beans and shiitake mushrooms. It's the kind of meal and service we've come to expect at Timothy's. We look forward to the spring and some new menu items with the change of seasonal foods.
