The Philips motel in robinsville, is a charming motel. the new owner Bill, is very attentive to the…read moredetails and working hard to improve and update the property.  there are multiple seating areas for meals, drinks etc. the landscaping is well done.  there are two (2) covered areas for motorcycle parking and plenty of room across the street if you have a trailer.  the rooms are well laid out and a really good value. quaint is a word we used to describe this motel. the hotel staff is prompt and very clean.  it is in a great location for the cherhola skyway, the dragon, and the moonshiners 28 runs. we also ran the wolf.  if you are coming to North Carolina for the tail of the dragon, or any road in the area, we highly recommend this motel for your stay, you will not be disappointed .

There is a nice front porch where you can sit and drink coffee and watch the hummingbirds come and go all morning. A back deck is available, as well. The sitting room is spacious and comfortable. Check out the original glass in the sun room! We stayed in the bridal suite and enjoyed a perfectly sized room with 1/2 bath within that space. So much is within walking distance...church, restaurants, shops. If we're in Murphy again, we will stay here.

The mattress kept sliding off the bed a bit, hitting the light cord and unplugging it. The plug for the tub didn't work so water slowly leaked out. The manager said that the room was checked every day for bed bugs. Highly unlikely since there was no attention to detail or in depth cleaning going on. We left before 2 on Saturday even though we paid for 2 days. We had to stay there the previous weekend and that room was also less than clean. The person next door, who appears to live there because they were still there the 2nd weekend, fell asleep with the TV on loud enough to hear through the wall. Since you go through the gas station to book and call with a problem, there was no one to call because it was closed. We were given no other number in the event of a problem. Couldn't stay at the other motel the 2nd trip because they were full. AVOID this place.

We have bike racks and bikes on our cars, and being on the first floor with our cars and bikes parked in front of the windows, definitely helps us sleep better at night. Hotel is also across the street from a Family Dollar and next door to a hardees, which was great bc we were short on time and there is no other shopping for about 15 miles in any direction. The Shell station in the parking lot is also the host office. Everyone that worked here was very kind and helpful. We would definitely stay here again next summer in combination with camping. We really needed this hotel for the wi-fi service, but didn't realize that until halfway through our stay at the campground. My daughter has several assignments due for college courses, and our hotspot was completely useless in the Nat'l Park area, the signal was never strong enough for her to load or complete the assignments. The hotel room gave us a place where my daughter could work for a few hours in comfort each day, as well as a place for us to freshen up before our 10 hour car ride home.

5 Star on Yelp and deserves every bit of it!…read more I hand out 5 stars fairly often but I am also persnickety. My husband and I travel full time in our RV for dog sports, rescue, etc. We stayed here for 2 nights in May 2024. Check in was completely online and we didn't have to see a single person. We checked in the morning of our arrival, received an email with all the needed info, arrived, punched in the key code, parked our rig without any drama, enjoyed a nearly silent weekend in spite of the park being full, enjoyed the Northern Lights and left without any problems what so ever. The park appears to be completely new. The grass is manicured and grounds landscaped, the trees are trimmed back, the sites are practically flat, the power stumps and spigots are in great condition, it's quiet during the day and absolutely silent at night. Best of all? Not breed discriminatory. We were allowed to have our bully breed here without any drama. For that reason, this will be our new stop when we visit Benton for dog shows. We couldn't ask for anything better. Protip: Ocoee Dam Deli & Diner up the way is actually fantastic and very affordable (try their broccoli cheese soup and their pimento cheese burger).
