She opened the door for feedback very early on to make sure I felt comfortable with making any tweaks to my hair and makeup. I wore extensions for the first time ever during my trial for the wedding. She understood exactly how to work with my hair (that hardly ever holds a curl) to extend the life of the curls over a long period of time. My makeup was perfect. I couldn't have asked for anything more. I wanted it to feel warm, but not glammy. I wanted to enhance my natural features and feel like "me." She pushed me a little outside of my comfort zone with a tone of lipstick during the trial that I ended up LOVING and it went so well with my dress, so we went for that color and it looked fantastic in all of the photos. Most importantly, on the wedding day, Ashley and her team were the first ones there setting up, and she was such a calming presence throughout the morning and helped make getting ready so much fun. I have always had an aversion to having my hair cut, about as welcome as a dental appointment. I have been used to barbers and hair stylists who do not listen to me and cut my hair too short. Marina knows exactly how I like mine and has eliminated the anxiety of going in, fearful I will be very unhappy when I see things from my own mirror. Shawn the owner is professional, friendly and does a great business. The shop is kinda surf-themed, since that's what Shawn's passion is outside of haircutting. The phone does ring a lot so be patient and leave a message, someone will always call you back.
