She yanked a comb through my long hair repeatedly while combing it out after the wash leaving my head pretty sore, cut way too much off the ends, and used thinning scissors on my hair for I don't know what reason. I'm guessing because I have thick, curly hair it was an easy way for her to get some of the bulk out without doing the work of actually layering and shaping my hair. Since my cut, my hair has been much more frizzy due to her thinning out my hair, and now it will take a few years to grow it out. She is labeled as a "master stylist" but honestly I would not agree. I will definitely be looking for another hair salon.

Haven't been to a salon since covid and had a special occasion booked last minute so the search was…read moreon to find a place for highlights and a trim. This place came recommended and had good reviews and they happened to have a spot open in time for my event. Upon arriving, I was pleased with cleanliness and layout of salon. I communicated with the stylist that I wanted to blend some minimal grays that were just at the hair line ( a treat from pregnancy) and get more gold highlights and take out any red. Showed the stylist a photo of myself with the hair I wanted (pre-pandemic hair). I thought she understood. I've been having my hair professional done for decades...and this is the first time I've spent 4 hours in a chair...even when getting the "works". For those of you who've had your hair done, you know it's not like you can just get up and walk out half way through....you sorta have to just deal with results and hope for the best. Which is what I did.. The stylist was knowledgeable about the steps and communicated but I knew she had gone down the wrong path with my hair when she herself expressed it came out darker than she had intended but "not to worry" she'd fix it with the highlights. I didn't see how that was possible but I had already been there 2 hours and I wanted to trust in the process. Fast forward and I ended up with reddish / rusty highlights on the caramel side. A far cry from my photo and my ask. The stylist even remarked that it was NOT what I had asked for but at least it looked better than when I came in. I didn't find the remarks comforting. While she tried to get me excited about how great my hair looked all I could see was this dark streak/line about an inch wide that wraps around the back of my hair where she tried to do a 2 color process which she admittedly had said it didn't work out the way she wanted but again not to worry..( this is in my new hair growth area). Needless to say, I was just over it. My hair was darker and redder than when I went in! *I did have to take a couple calls while in the chair (and she was patient with that)..but they were max 10minutes total combined so I really doubt that impacted results. The stylist did say she guarantees her work but I don't want to give it another try. $240 later ( I left $40 for tip)...overall disappointed... l I could have spent $20 for an at home out of the box coloring that I would've been much happier with. Giving 3 stars for cleanliness, friendliness, haircut, price and availability.

She opened the door for feedback very early on to make sure I felt comfortable with making any tweaks to my hair and makeup. I wore extensions for the first time ever during my trial for the wedding. She understood exactly how to work with my hair (that hardly ever holds a curl) to extend the life of the curls over a long period of time. My makeup was perfect. I couldn't have asked for anything more. I wanted it to feel warm, but not glammy. I wanted to enhance my natural features and feel like "me." She pushed me a little outside of my comfort zone with a tone of lipstick during the trial that I ended up LOVING and it went so well with my dress, so we went for that color and it looked fantastic in all of the photos. Most importantly, on the wedding day, Ashley and her team were the first ones there setting up, and she was such a calming presence throughout the morning and helped make getting ready so much fun. She put me at ease starting with the hair and makeup trial. I was obsessed after my hair and makeup trials and I just knew I had made the right decision to have her booked as my hair and makeup artist. I told her I wanted a natural look that wasn't too heavy for makeup and I showed her a few hairstyles and she made the perfect in-between that fit my entire look perfectly! The entire time she was an angel of a person and made me feel comfortable. It was seriously like we had been friends for years! Not to mention the amazing team she had with her, Camille and Tanika were so kind and attentive to all my bridesmaids and family members. Each one of the HMUA did better than we could have all imagined! We all felt so pampered and listened to. I can't express the positivity they brought to each one of us girls.
