She took care of my poor hair that had endured poorly self-applied dye jobs and my husbands attempt at giving me a trim. She was amazing and friendly, and really listened to what I wanted. Amy did a knock out job on my haircut. I'm a hair stylist too, but since I moved from the bay I don't have my peeps around to take care of me. I was also super impressed by how fast she was! A shampoo/cut and round brush blowout in 45 mins? And she totally nailed it! Avoid like a plague! I scheduled an appointment with them online, I got a confirmation text message. The only close date they have, I took it. So I took a day off from work. 2 days later, the day of the appointment, and 2 hours before the appointment, they cancelled by text message. Tried to reach them by the phone for several time, they didn't pick up. I decided to drive to the Salon, the lady said didn't waste time explaining or apologizing. She simply said , I cancelled because I don't have much time today. Unprofessional! Amy does a fabulous job on my sons hair. He has 2 calics that her son has so she knows exactly how to handle them. He loves what Amy does to his hair, especially when she dyes it blue. They both do a fabulous job on my hair as well. Nothing like a little father son time. I think we have been going to the Hair Studio every other month for 5-6 years now , since they opened. It is the perfect little neighborhood salon you could go in for any occasion fantastic recovery to a bad review. Janine is no longer working in this establishment either. Honestly the worst haircut I have ever paid someone to give me. The color did not come out at all near what I had asked for. I had been growing my hair out for a long time and needed a new look and decided to treat myself for my birthday. I ended up paying and hoping I would go home and maybe style it differently and make it work. Absolutely nothing helped. I look very dated, like a 1980 mom. Absolutely horrible!! Super short thick blocked bangs, very dark lower half of my hair and very white frosted look on the top. Definitely not worth a commute to get to the salon, 4 hours sitting in a chair and sticker shock when paying. Why I paid ??? Pure shock and the fact that my poor child was bored out of her mind. I waited over a week to say something, hoping to get used to it or find a way to style it. No such luck!! I cannot even pin my bangs back they are so short. I didn't ask for this, we discussed whispy bangs something that frames my face !! I didn't have them at all before. So completely shocking. I asked if Janine would refund me at least some of the money because I cannot do anything with my hair and can only wait for it to grow. I don't want her touching my hair again after not just the cut, the color and complete lack of listening to what I want. Over $250. Out the window. Happy Birthday to me!! I'm shocked she refused to give me anything back at least for the haircut. Ladies don't go to her because she doesn't listen and will blame you for her bad job. I'm sorry but my shampoo didn't do anything to make my hair this dark and so white! Or short. When a single mom goes to spend her savings to treat herself and hopefully look better when leaving a shop and this happens. Great first experience with Carolyn at The Hair Studio. I thought I would try it out since it's by far the closest place to get a hair cut, and I'm glad I did. Carolyn is great at what she does and seems to take great care in what she does. It was not rushed at all and she was very pleasant to talk to all the while. I walked away with a quality cut and had an overall excellent experience. On top of that, the cut included a shampoo. Sweet! It was very reasonably priced, I was able to schedule with her via text message and she even offered to set a reminder for my next cut.
