It's been years since I visited an actual hair salon and I'm ecstatic that I found Curl Up & Dye! With a name like that I had to check it out but it's the sweet and talented stylists that keep me coming back. The first time, I saw Rashel as a walk-in for a quick trim. She fit me in, was super nice and did a good job. The second time, today, I saw Janell for a haircut and she did great! She was very accomodating in fitting me in when I called earlier this week and I walked out of there feeling like a new woman. And the salon itself is so quaint, kind of modern, kind of chic, very welcoming. I dislike salons that are sooo modern/chic that it's intimidating and make you feel like you don't belong there. And prices are very reasonable! In San Jose or anywhere in the bay it's like $50 for a cut, bye! Seriously, come here. I actually can't wait for my next haircut :) read more

I got a haircut with Espie, she did an amazing job. I have long frizzy/wavy hair. I always get anxious before going into a hair salon because I hate when people pull my hair and the way she was working with my hair made me feel like my prayers were heard lol. I just had my hair cut today with Jazmine and I just can't rave enough about the experience. I almost cancelled because I'm going through a rough time and wasn't in the mood for forced small talk, but that's not the case with Jazmine. Firstly, everything is sanitized and distanced. Items are constantly cleaned and clearly labeled. Jazmine has a calm and genuinely friendly vibe. The talking flowed effortlessly without force, bringing both the right environment of kindness and friendliness. Just what i needed. My cut? Perfection. I've never had any other stylist be able to replicate exactly what i wanted from photo to my hair. Ask for Jazmine! You won't regret it read more

I came here for a trim.... I walked out with the worst haircut of my life. I have to start off my by saying I have my regular hair dresser who knows how to cut long hair but I figured how can you really mess up a trim? Janelle was recommended by a few people. She took about 20 minutes to cut my hair. I was surprised on how quick she was, her confidence and how great she curled it. Wow all of this for only $20 dollars what a great deal! The next day I straightened my hair and instantly start crying. There were chunks of my hair missing. Long layers, short layers and my hair felt very thin. To paint a picture my hair is very thick and long, you can literally see chunks of my hair missing. This will take months or even a year to grow out....NEVER AGAIN Go elsewhere. Pay $100 to get a good cut. Don't be fooled by the $20 price point. read more

I have been coming to Curl Up for over a year now and I have never been more satisfied with how my hair looks, and I am VERY selective when it comes to my locks. With that being said Danielle and Janell do a fabulous job and are your go-to-girls. Before I discovered this salon my hair was in desperate need of hair therapy, but Danielle managed to get my hair back to normal within 30 minutes, she is attentive and actually listens to what you tell her and not to mention that she is great to gossip with;) Janell, however is fairly new to the salon and she is already a personal favorite to many clients as you can read below my post. This girl went to a great beauty school and her work reflects that! I really wanted to get straight bangs but due to the fact that I have so much hair, I did not think that was an option for me, but Janell defied that with her scissors and gave me the cutest heavy fringe a girl can ask for, thank you Janell! I was referred by a friend/coworker to get my bangs trimmed. I was a walk in but didn't have to wait long. The girl that cut my bangs, Danielle I believe, did a really good and quick job. The only thing I didn't like was that she didn't let me know it was a cash only place until after the cut. Luckily I had just enough on me for the cut and a tip. I haven't had a hair cut in over a year. I'm really picky with who I let touch my hair, as I think most people are. I normally have my friend back home cut/dye my hair but by now I hadn't been home since February and didn't know when I would be able to make it and I have to go to a wedding in November. So, I took to yelp to look for a place to get a trim and some layers. I liked the reviews I read for Curl Up & Dye and it is one of the best rated salons in Watsonville according to yelp so I decided to give it a try. I'm really happy I did. Alex cut my hair and she did a great job. She was really nice and hospitable which makes you really feel welcome. It was $20 plus tip and IMO, a steal! I am so happy with how it turned out and I'm definitely going to come back in a few months for a trim and maybe even sooner to get it dyed by the owner, Irma. I saw her do a dye job on another costumer and it looked phenomenal so I'm definitely going to try it out! :) The only thing is that the parking lot is kind of confusing since they only have two parking spots and a handicap spot in front of their salon and then the rest says reserved parking. They do a really good job at cutting hair but the two times I've been there the lady who I had my appointment with was just starting to work on a client. I was helped 30 minutes after my set appointment time I even got there 5 minutes earlier than my appointment. read more

The shop is adorable. Danielle does my hair and does such an awesome job! I am constantly getting compliments on my hair color. I was in desperate need of a haircut since my hair was full of split ends and I wanted a new look. I always drove by this place but never stopped to get anything done. I was looking through Yelp and saw great reviews so I made an appointment at Curl Up and Dye and they took me in the same day. I had a female by the name of Espi cut my hair. Needless to say I felt sorry for whoever had to do my hair;-) I Decided to give curl up and dye a try as live rite down the street. I Made an Appointment with Janelle And was amazed at her capability in completely transforming my hair. She Is Patient she listens to what you want and does a very thorough job. Word can't describe how impressed I am with my stylist, Janell! I have read her reviews and I can tell you, she lives up to her reputation. She was able to get me in on a next day appointment and was willing to work into the late hours of the night to accommodate me. Luckily for her, the earlier time worked for us both :) Janell is the perfect blend of everything that I want in a hairstylist, she is attentive and personable while also maintaining focus and professionalism. She talks to you but isn't the type that will spend 4 hours talking your ear off, which I prefer. She chats comfortably. My hair typically takes 4 hours and Janell did that in half the time with half the price and a much better end result. Janell is your girl! I'm one of those girls that is super picky about who touches my hair. Since I've had bad experiences, but Janell does an amazing job. I've been hesitant to cut my hair because I've had such bad experiences. After reading some of the reviews, I decided to go in. Rashel was so friendly and I told her what i wanted.
