I got my hair cut and styled by Britney last week and I LOVE it! I'm so grateful I found her. She did an amazing job and it was truly a joy to sit in her chair. We cut off a good amount of dead hair with stagnant energy attached to it. I feel like a fresh, new me! Thanks again Britney! read more

Feather Salon - Feeling fresh after a new do by Britney! This hair is giving me life!! ;) - Hair Salons Near Me - Soquel, California

I feel like Erin is part of my family now, so that makes me kinda feel like this review is cheating...but here we go. I was referred to Erin and Feather Salon thanks to the team at Sand Rock Farm which was supposed to be the site of my wedding in December 2020. But literally days before the date, well...2020, right? California screeched to a close and the date was postponed. Erin didn't skip a beat...she got the new date scheduled and just had a simple question for me: Are you good? Is everything OK? This has just been what it has been like working with Erin. You come first. Full stop. When we FINALLY got to actually work together, she styled all of my friends hair with Gillian and honestly, it felt like the BEST all girlfriend party ever. She was attentive...SHE LISTENED FOR ALL the details. And her work was AMAZING. Everyone...especially me as the bride...felt GORGEOUS. And I do NOT know what brands are in her magical kit of makeup...but ladies...ZERO DRIPPY MASCARA...and believe me...there WAS crying. My lasting memory of FINALLY hosting our friends and family to celebrate our marriage will ALWAYS include Erin as being part of the laughter and friendship and fun. (Oh...and the half-up, half down beach wavy masterpiece known as my hair...that sucker stayed up ALL NIGHT WITHOUT BUDGING A BIT. I'm talking a modern MIRACLE!) Erin and Gillian are simply amazing. Can't wait to be a long-lasting customer and coming in to see that gorgeous salon! read more

Please note: I can't really speak to any other stylist well maybe the unfriendly blonde that apparently owns the salon... but other than that.. I originally requested another stylist but was booked with the gal that answers the phone... I had my hair dyed roughly 3 weeks ago. I made another appointment prior to leaving the salon. I was happy with the cut. Truthfully I was pleased with the color, as long as I remained inside. As soon as I walked outside and according to all my friends, colleagues and family my hair was two toned and " very dark". I guess she did not tone it properly according to a friend that has a salon in LA Truthfully that was beside the point. When she text to confirm appointment I told her I needed to speak to her about the color. That I was not pleased. She immediately became defensive, and proceeded to discuss money and service stipulation. I never at anytime requested reimbursement, as I truly just wanted to have an adult conversation. I'll leave her name out of it and let the salon take the hit.. maybe in the future you will not be so rude and defensive... in addition don't talk about your personal business when preforming a service.. especially when your charging g over 200.00 for a poor job. Nobody wants to hear it.. patrons come to relax. Another piece of advice don't text customers at 7am for any reason.. read more

I have been going To Britney for about 8 years, and she rocks! I recommend her with flying colors. Speaking of colors, she is very talented with top of the line quality coloring, and while working with clients, actively listening to their needs- she guides every step of the way experimenting with color, if that's what you want. Her bedside manner is amazing, and she is incredibly punctual and organized. Feathers Salon is NOT the place where you'll wait a long time for your scheduled appointment. She's great with kids, teens, men in a rush, clients who had a bad experience somewhere else, folks needing a special day hair makeover, etc. She is a terrific hairstylist and will spend a lot of time with you, making sure you are satisfied, which I promise you will be. read more

After nearly 20 years with long wavy hair, I decided it was time for a change. I walked into Feather Salon in Soquel, near Santa Cruz, on an impulse with no clear idea of what might suit me and left it entirely up to Kristy to find a flattering style. She looked at my hair, asked a couple of questions, and went to work. The result is beyond my wildest expectations and met with enthusiastic reviews from my family and friends who use words like "elegant", "sophisticated", "sassy", "chic", "fantastic", etc. Hands down a fabulous experience! read more

Thank you Erin for the best haircut and highlights ever! I have struggled to find someone who knows how to cut curly hair and also get the highlights right. After years of wearing my hair up in a hat, I can now enjoy my hair again. The hair product you recommended also works great for curls. It is true, curly haired people know best how to help others with curly hair. No more suffering! Heather read more

I am so glad I found Feather Salon! Against the advice of pretty much every wedding planner website, I put off booking hair and makeup services for my wedding day because I didn't even know how to begin finding someone. When I finally contacted the stylist my venue recommended (Shawn Calvan), she had already been booked, but she recommended that I try Feather Salon. What a great recommendation!! Erin and crew were FANTASTIC. Erin is so fun to work with! She seemed to intuitively get what style I was looking for (and I am terrible at describing hairstyles). She was able to come to our hotel room to do my hair (and my bridesmaids' hair) the morning of the wedding. My bridesmaids hairstyles turned out amazing -- classic and on-trend all at the same time! I've been a bridesmaid in several weddings, and I'm probably biased, but I think these were the best wedding party hairstyles I've seen. And I LOVED my makeup -- I felt like Grace Kelly on my wedding day, and couldn't have been more happy with how everything turned out! I plan to enthusiastically recommend Feather Salon to my friends. Thank you again!! read more

Artists and highly skilled technicians have a knack for taking your rough ideas and creating a fantastic end result that is beyond your initial expectation. Gillian's styling techniques place her firmly in this category of excellence. She turned my mop of hair into a cute, stylish cut with versatile bangs! I was happily surprised to find a less "heavy" feeling but still had good length. She listens to well to your requests and has a skillful manner that I have rarely experienced with past stylists. I also enjoyed the artistic designs and wood carpentry throughout the salon. I definitely recommend Gillian and this salon. read more

Before I met Lori, I thought I'd never have a hair stylist who really "got" me. Then I found Lori Hodges, who knew just the color and style I was after. It's been years now, and she continues to accommodate my every whim. She cuts and colors with precision and care, and her passion for hair always translates into her work. Hair styling is an art and a skill, and Lori is both an artisan and technician. She's attentive and trustworthy. She's also upbeat and positive -- a true joy to be around. I'm so glad Lori's at Feathers Salon, which is a delightful place in the heart of Soquel Village. read more

Finally found the hairdresser that can achieve the color and cut I've been longing for. I've been complimented numerous times on my gorgeous color and cut perfected by Kristy at Feathers. It can take a long time to bond and get your hairdresser to understand what you are wanting to achieve but Kristy nailed it on the first visit! She's truly a professional. Not only outstanding but also very sincere and charming. She's very reasonable and also fun to talk to. Highly recommend!!! read more

Erin Perry just did my make up and hair for my wedding. She also did my Mom and Mother in law and sister. We all looked like dream versions of ourselves. She listened, and was just masterful. Erin also cut my hair and my husband's hair for the wedding. Everyone said it was the best haircut he ever had. The wedding service is definitely expensive, but looking back on it, I admit it was worth it. read more

I have very fine, difficult hair that I had been coloring myself for over a year. I decided I wanted to try balayage to give my hair some more dimension, which led me to Erin. I actually emailed with Erin before making my way to the Salon (I live in San Francisco) and only a few emails in I was sure Erin was the person for me. I came into the salon, Erin did my balayage and when it wasn't quite as bright as I'd hoped she offered to immediately touch it up--truly superior service. I have since been back again and I could not be happier. read more

I've seen Brittany four times now and each time I've left with a great, new hairstyle that matches whatever lifestyle I'm trying out. I'm pretty low maintenance and often go long stretches before I come in for a trim. Brittany always takes this into consideration giving me styles that will grow out nicely and never gives me a cut that requires a lot of prep in the morning to look great. The first time she colored my hair she offered a free second appointment to make any changes I wanted. That way I didn't make a drastic change that I would regret later and was able to gradually make a switch. Amazing service! Plus she texted me to see if I wanted the second appointment! Not many stylists would go out of their way to offer their labor for free! read more

5 Stars! This place is clean, small, designed very polite. Brittney is amazing! Everytime I go in there I am in desperate need for a touch up and you come out looking amazing! Happy, friendly and she truly cares about your hair and its health. I love how excited she gets the more and more she makes your old hair turn into a masterpiece! read more

Erin! Erin! Erin! What more do I need to say. An amazing stylist with the heart of gold. So glad that she listens to what I want, but puts her own touch to make it even better than I imagined - above and beyond service! read more

Top notch, five star salon all the way. Incredibly professional service and, most importantly, you can always depend on a high quality job. They have built a great team of current and relevant stylists, and I feel comfortable with all of them. The icing on the cake is the beautiful space. Light and airy, I appreciate the thought they put into a clean & fun design. read more

With my thick, curly/wavy hair having grown out from a bad haircut, I went to Feather salon in Soquel with high hopes. Erin, who had curly hair herself, was supposed to be great and came highly recommended. I should have noticed right away that her own ringlets weren't layered. I showed her a picture of exactly what I wanted. I also distinctly told her NO RAZOR cuts...they make my hair too frizzy. So what does she do? she turns my chair so i can't see, and she takes a chunk from the back and slides her scissors up the shaft, just like a razor! When i stopped her and asked what she was doing, she said, "got with it...you'll love it. it will take the bulk out of your hair." At that point, my hair on the floor looked like a small dead animal and I had no choice but for her to finish her "magic." Well, what I got was a frizzy, uneven mess that I can't do ANYTHING with and won't curl because of the razor slide cut. I've tried styling it three different times and it's so uneven it has no shape whatsoever. And does it look like picture that I showed her? not even close! This is by far the worst cute I have ever had! In the end, and $85 including tip later, Erin said to me, "well, I guess that didn't work for you." OMG! This review is getting one star simply because I thought Erin was a fun personality, but not worth the money or the amount of time it will take my hair to grow and recovery from this horrible cut! proceed with caution....Erin obviously doesn't listen to what her clients say. read more

I went to the salon for a touch up of hair color and saw Lori. I told her to simply touch up the roots and match my color. She had to ask another stylist which color to use which got my attention. When she rinsed it out she said that it looked good. I went back to her station, looked in the mirror and immediately noticed that my blonde hair was now whitish purple! When I objected she agreed to fix it. After 2 1/2 hours my hair was finally acceptable. Not the same color as before but OK. When we went to the front to pay she grinned and told me it would be $175! This was supposed to be a touch up! I've consistently paid $60-70 for this, even in Saratoga. And they get it right! read more

I have been seeing Gillian for 8 years now. She is absolutely fabulous. She is the best with curly hair, and keeps my color looking perfectly blended. She also did my hair and make-up for my wedding. She has a good sense of style and is easy to work with (no pushing of a style she wants, but really good at listening to the style you want). Couldn't be happier that she open her own space with Erin, who is wonderful as well. Their space has a modern relaxed style that makes going to the salon the delightful experience it should be. Absolutely recommend them! read more
