I feel like Erin is part of my family now, so that makes me kinda feel like this review is cheating...but here we go. I was referred to Erin and Feather Salon thanks to the team at Sand Rock Farm which was supposed to be the site of my wedding in December 2020. But literally days before the date, well...2020, right? California screeched to a close and the date was postponed. Erin didn't skip a beat...she got the new date scheduled and just had a simple question for me: Are you good? Is everything OK? This has just been what it has been like working with Erin. You come first. Full stop. When we FINALLY got to actually work together, she styled all of my friends hair with Gillian and honestly, it felt like the BEST all girlfriend party ever. She was attentive...SHE LISTENED FOR ALL the details. And her work was AMAZING. Everyone...especially me as the bride...felt GORGEOUS. And I do NOT know what brands are in her magical kit of makeup...but ladies...ZERO DRIPPY MASCARA...and believe me...there WAS crying. My lasting memory of FINALLY hosting our friends and family to celebrate our marriage will ALWAYS include Erin as being part of the laughter and friendship and fun. Please note: I can't really speak to any other stylist well maybe the unfriendly blonde that apparently owns the salon... but other than that.. I originally requested another stylist but was booked with the gal that answers the phone... I had my hair dyed roughly 3 weeks ago. I made another appointment prior to leaving the salon. I was happy with the cut. Truthfully I was pleased with the color, as long as I remained inside. As soon as I walked outside and according to all my friends, colleagues and family my hair was two toned and " very dark". I guess she did not tone it properly according to a friend that has a salon in LA Truthfully that was beside the point. When she text to confirm appointment I told her I needed to speak to her about the color. That I was not pleased. She immediately became defensive, and proceeded to discuss money and service stipulation. I never at anytime requested reimbursement, as I truly just wanted to have an adult conversation. I'll leave her name out of it and let the salon take the hit.. maybe in the future you will not be so rude and defensive... in addition don't talk about your personal business when preforming a service.. especially when your charging g over 200.00 for a poor job. Speaking of colors, she is very talented with top of the line quality coloring, and while working with clients, actively listening to their needs- she guides every step of the way experimenting with color, if that's what you want. Her bedside manner is amazing, and she is incredibly punctual and organized. Feathers Salon is NOT the place where you'll wait a long time for your scheduled appointment. Against the advice of pretty much every wedding planner website, I put off booking hair and makeup services for my wedding day because I didn't even know how to begin finding someone. When I finally contacted the stylist my venue recommended (Shawn Calvan), she had already been booked, but she recommended that I try Feather Salon. What a great recommendation!! Erin and crew were FANTASTIC. Erin is so fun to work with! She seemed to intuitively get what style I was looking for (and I am terrible at describing hairstyles). She was able to come to our hotel room to do my hair (and my bridesmaids' hair) the morning of the wedding. My bridesmaids hairstyles turned out amazing -- classic and on-trend all at the same time! I've seen Brittany four times now and each time I've left with a great, new hairstyle that matches whatever lifestyle I'm trying out. I'm pretty low maintenance and often go long stretches before I come in for a trim. Brittany always takes this into consideration giving me styles that will grow out nicely and never gives me a cut that requires a lot of prep in the morning to look great. The first time she colored my hair she offered a free second appointment to make any changes I wanted. That way I didn't make a drastic change that I would regret later and was able to gradually make a switch. Amazing service! Plus she texted me to see if I wanted the second appointment! With my thick, curly/wavy hair having grown out from a bad haircut, I went to Feather salon in Soquel with high hopes. Erin, who had curly hair herself, was supposed to be great and came highly recommended. I should have noticed right away that her own ringlets weren't layered. I showed her a picture of exactly what I wanted. I also distinctly told her NO RAZOR cuts...they make my hair too frizzy. So what does she do? she turns my chair so i can't see, and she takes a chunk from the back and slides her scissors up the shaft, just like a razor! When i stopped her and asked what she was doing, she said, "got with it...you'll love it. it will take the bulk out of your hair." At that point, my hair on the floor looked like a small dead animal and I had no choice but for her to finish her "magic." Well, what I got was a frizzy, uneven mess that I can't do ANYTHING with and won't curl because of the razor slide cut. I've tried styling it three different times and it's so uneven it has no shape whatsoever. And does it look like picture that I showed her? not even close! This is by far the worst cute I have ever had! In the end, and $85 including tip later, Erin said to me, "well, I guess that didn't work for you." OMG! This review is getting one star simply because I thought Erin was a fun personality, but not worth the money or the amount of time it will take my hair to grow and recovery from this horrible cut! proceed with caution....Erin obviously doesn't listen to what her clients say. read more

I went to the salon for a touch up of hair color and saw Lori. I told her to simply touch up the roots and match my color. She had to ask another stylist which color to use which got my attention. When she rinsed it out she said that it looked good. I went back to her station, looked in the mirror and immediately noticed that my blonde hair was now whitish purple! When I objected she agreed to fix it. After 2 1/2 hours my hair was finally acceptable. Not the same color as before but OK. When we went to the front to pay she grinned and told me it would be $175! This was supposed to be a touch up! I've consistently paid $60-70 for this, even in Saratoga. And they get it right! read more
