OVERALL
Nice casual spot to grab a quick meal and satisfy your noodle cravings.
FOOD
Reminds me of Xi'an famous food in the States. The location we went to was right across from the Sky Garden. Food items we tried are:
[beef murger] if you've never had it before, it's meat-filled buns. JUICY and TENDER! Honestly better than the ones I've had before!
[biang bang noodle] hand pulled noodles. Broad as it should. Not as chewy as expected. When I initially read the menu, I thought for the "three-in-one" option you get to pick three toppings of meat, but turns out you only get to pick one meat option. The other two toppings are predetermined (chili oil and veggies).
[clay pot rice noodle] surprisingly this was the STAR of the night! Well-cooked rice noodle with flavorful soup, with plentiful ingredients in the pot (quail egg, 2 meatballs, seaweed, tofu skin, veggies). Would order again for sure!
[tofu skin skewer] would not recommend as serving size was surprisingly small for almost 2 pounds per skewer. You have to order at least 5 skewers. It's simple tofu skin topped with sesame sauce. While the sauce is good, it really only mostly covers the top so you'll have a flavorful bite for the first skewer, but not the 4 after (since it's buried underneath and doesn't get covered with the sauce)
[noodle with braised pork in spicy sour soup] once again would not recommend. The soup is simply too oily.
We didn't order any alcoholic drinks but looks like they have a decent selection of cocktails priced at 11 pounds, as well as happy hour specials.
SERVICE & AMBIANCE
Think of it as almost a fast food restaurant (chinese style) so don't come in to expect great service. But honestly everybody was friendly and courteous. read more
