When I arrived early in the morning, the three women behind the desk were already having a Jovial conversation about the possibility of a therapy animal in the office. This was the night before my appointment and Blackman Grove. It was just me at home, living in the middle of nowhere, with a dead car battery and no way to jump it. I called to get the appointment rescheduled, but was told it'd be $75 to do so. Fine. Thanks, daughter. I get it. 2. Finally get a new bridge (not sure if that was what the other appointment was for, but man, it was expensive, even with insurance.) However...a hygenist puts the bridge on and shapes it way too short. The dentist didn't even do anything. I was told she doesn't like doing those or fillings. I was also told that if I didn't like it, they could send it to a lab, but it'd cost MORE. Now, that side of my smile...the teeth are way shorter than the other side.‍ To my main point and complaint: found a new dentist where I'm located. They did X-rays and told me that all of my crowns from Blackman Grove are garbage. You can see them in the X-rays...they're not even cemented down well. I paid thousands...THOUSANDS...and now need to get them redone because my mouth aches. I loved this dentist...BEFORE they hired new people and completely redid the place (and started adding Botox to their services.)

I was told my bite was off and my cap was only 5 years old so it couldn't be loose. They gave me an orthodontist referral and sent me on my way. During the visit the Dentist never looked at my teeth once, he never even came in the room. The hygienist took the photos to him and came back with the information no one did any investigating to my teeth. Not a floss, exam, or nothing. 3 days later my cap popped off my tooth and I had to receive emergency services. The visit cost me a $195 copay and $450 to fix the damage. The emergency dentist told me there were signs the dentist would have noticed if he took the time to look at my teeth. I filled a formal complaint with the office and asked to be called with a resolution. It's been over 2 weeks and I have not heard from anyone since. I would not recommend this place. When I called to file my complaint the women on the phone tried to turn this back on me stating that when I made the appointmet online I said I thought my filling fell out but I wasn't sure. I stated once I was there I explain I think my cap was loose or filling fell out. If the dentist would have examined me he would have know what the problem was, whether it was a filling or a cap someone should have checked.

I've had a broken tooth with the root exposed and a slight infection that's been causing me serious, serious pain for the past few months. I had been trying to hold out until my new insurance kicks in in February to have it dealt with, but late last night (December 23rd), I was hit with such immense, constant pain that I had to be rushed to the ER because of this nerve. My vitals had skyrocketed and I was trembling uncontrollably. The pain lasted for hours and the ER gave me injections into my mouth to try and temporarily deaden the nerve. They said it should last 8-12 hours, and in the meantime, I had to try to do everything in my power to find a dentist that would do an emergency extraction on Christmas Eve. I was up first thing in the morning, calling literally every dentist in Middle Tennessee.. Only to have every single one closed, and not only that, but for 4-5 more days. I was distraught and terrified to have that pain return and there be nothing I could do about it except lay in the ER in agony. After hours of searching, I found Fortress Dental and gave them a call. To my surprise, someone picked up and I asked if they were open to do an emergency procedure. The woman on the other end seemed hesitant and said not really, but asked what was going on. When I explained the situation, she told me to hold on while she asked. When she returned to the line, she informed me that if I came ASAP, they could get me in to at least examine it and potentially be able to remove it today depending on how difficult of a procedure it would be. This was the best shot I had and my only option, so I left immediately. When I got there and filled out the paperwork, they got me right in. After examining the tooth (which only cost $50 including the xrays), the told me that they would be able to remove it for me today. I had asked if that included anesthesia (because I have very, very bad medical/dental anxiety and have never had a tooth removed before and would need to be put under for it), and they said they didn't do anesthesia there and they could refer me out if I needed that. Since waiting even another hour more wasn't an option, I had to reluctantly agree to having the tooth removed under nitro. I was terrified and trembling, but they were the most comforting, gentle, calming, and encouraging people throughout the entire process. They helped keep me calm, they played relaxing music for me, they talked me through it the whole time, gave me stress balls to hold, covered me in a blanket, etc. They were comforting and encouraging of everything I was doing right and the entire procedure was a lot easier for me (both mentally and physically) than I could have ever hoped for. I cannot stress enough how absolutely incredible the associates here are and how beyond grateful I am for them. I cried tears of joy and relief when it was over because I would never have to go through that pain/fear of that pain again and thanked them all profusely. To everyone at Fortress Dental who helped me, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Truly. I can't tell you how much pain and suffering you saved me from for who knows how many days. You are all a blessing. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Thank you for being open and thank you for taking me in at the last minute, right before you were supposed to close.
