I'm very disappointed with this dental office. They did not inform my wife ahead of time that they were out of network with my insurance. Even when my wife asked about co-pay right before the visit they said no co-pay. I only found out after the visit when I received a surprise bill in the mail. Called the office and try to explain the issue, they said even they know it is an issue on their end, but I have to pay as they have billed the insurance. Transparency about costs and insurance coverage should be a basic standard in healthcare, and unfortunately this office failed to provide that. Patients deserve to know what they are being charged before treatment, not after. Now my only option is to file a complaint with TDCI and CMS. read more

My whole family has gone for years. I really enjoyed it. We lost our dental insurance and had to cancel our recent cleanings until we get back on our feet. Last week, over Thanksgiving break, I had a crown fall out. One that has popped out two other times. I've never had this experience before with crowns, so it's been a pain. Made an appointment, and explained to the doctor over the phone about our financial situation, got to the appointment, was in the chair and already swished mouthwash. The tech left and came back with an estimated bill of $125. I literally left in tears and didn't get my tooth put back in. Why would I pay when their cement hasn't been holding? I was told I could eat whatever I wanted and shouldn't have any more problems after the last time. Apparently, I can't afford this place and will now have to go with an exposed tooth until I can figure something out. Poor practice and you just lost 4 patients over it. read more

I have been to over a dozen dentists in my life and I think I finally found my last dentist! I cannot day enough good things about this place. The dental hygienist that I've seen has been so gentle on my teeth. The doctor is always kind and knowledgeable whenever I've had questions. I've had both routine visits and fillings done here--both where great. I will use this place as long as I can. read more

I was told one price for my dental work and now I have a bill for $200 additional dollars. I would not have had the work done if I would have know they were going to keep adding to the price. I will be canceling my future appointments! read more

This was the second time I had to call them to fix my former Dentist's work. First time was last Fall 2019, had a broken filing and this time had a crown come off. Dr Jackson and her staff at Murfreesboro Family Dentistry are great. My husband and I are new to the Murfreesboro area and were referred by a neighbor. We are now members of the family plan and over the past couple of months have benefited from the significant discounts which it allows. I've had a Root Canal and New Bridge; and my husband has had a Crown replaced. This was my second time going to this establishment for cleanings. The 1st time they gave me a hard time about not wanting x-rays, to the point where they told me that they may not be able to perform a cleaning unless I agreed to one. I told them if that was the case that I would take my business elsewhere because no other dentist had required x-rays. They've always been optional and at that time were unnecessary. They decided to go ahead with the cleaning. I was happy with how detailed they were by showing me pictures of my teeth on the tv in front of me. Dr. Jackson was on maternity leave so I was seen by a different dentist who was fantastic. 6 months later I have my 2nd cleaning. Totally different experience from my 1st. I originally had to reschedule as I had accidentally double booked myself. The receptionist said she would see what she could do and would call me back. I never got that call back. I called back a few days later and they apologized and set me up with an appointment. The dental hygienist was nowhere near as detailed as the last time, and it was the same one that I saw before. Dr. Johnson made no attempt at gaining rapport with me as a new patient, however I did hear her chatting with other patients asking them how their day was and making small talk. Makes me wonder why she didn't do the same with me. Now here is another odd thing... before Dr. Johnson came in I was asked if I had any questions. To kill time, I asked if they offered teeth whitening and how much it was. The hygienist told me the options and cost and that's when the doctor came in. As I was leaving, she wanted me to sign paperwork about the teeth-whitening service. I told her that I wasn't interested in getting the service and was merely just asking. She told me I would need to sign the paperwork anyway saying that my insurance might not cover the procedure and it might be out of pocket. I again told her I had no interest in signing anything because I didn't want the service. She told me that signing it wasn't saying that I agreed to the service but just an acknowledgement. I refused to sign. Why am I receiving severe pushback in signing paperwork and being given such a hard time for a service that I do not want? So I'm assuming that anytime I ask a question that they'll request I signs documents. Totally unprofessional. The only reason I came here was because I moved and my previous dentist was farther out. Well, looks like I'll be driving the distance to my old dentist. He was great, staff was great, never made me sign papers for every question asked, and never pushed me for services that I didn't want or need. read more

My 4 year old daughter and I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Jackson. I would highly recommend her to anyone in the Murfreesboro area.

Dr. Jackson is very nice and so is her staff, but I've had to go back several times to have fillings reshaped after the initial appointment bc they were not done correctly. I had a root canal, not done by her obviously, but she fit the crown. Two years later, I still have fit issues and my teeth have moved on that side of my mouth. Now I'm having sensitivity issues with that tooth and am looking for a new dentist. The last cleaning I had was not thorough, and I still had stains on my teeth. Another issue is that I always had to remind her what I needed done during procedures or she would forget. So if I needed two cavities filled and a tooth bonded, she would forget to bond the tooth. I had an amazing dentist growing up and drove 100 miles round trip to see him for years, so I might have a really high standard since he had so much experience. Oh, and they started charging for rescheduling appointments less than 24 hrs in advance. I can understand if you are a serial no show. Sometimes I can't leave work meetings or am sick, but I always called. All in all, Dr. Jackson is very nice, but may need more experience. read more
