This was the night before my appointment and Blackman Grove. It was just me at home, living in the middle of nowhere, with a dead car battery and no way to jump it. I called to get the appointment rescheduled, but was told it'd be $75 to do so. Fine. Thanks, daughter. I get it. 2. Finally get a new bridge (not sure if that was what the other appointment was for, but man, it was expensive, even with insurance.) However...a hygenist puts the bridge on and shapes it way too short. The dentist didn't even do anything. I was told she doesn't like doing those or fillings. I was also told that if I didn't like it, they could send it to a lab, but it'd cost MORE. Now, that side of my smile...the teeth are way shorter than the other side.‍ To my main point and complaint: found a new dentist where I'm located. They did X-rays and told me that all of my crowns from Blackman Grove are garbage. You can see them in the X-rays...they're not even cemented down well. I paid thousands...THOUSANDS...and now need to get them redone because my mouth aches. I loved this dentist...BEFORE they hired new people and completely redid the place (and started adding Botox to their services.)

New dude tells me my metal fillings (from many years ago, not put in by this Dr.) are toxic, and that they all need to be replaced, posthaste! Before then, I was getting regular checkups w Dr. Atkinson. He was such an honest, non-greedy dentist ...Atkinson told me my fillings looked great, that they'd last a long time. He also pointed out small cavities that were barely formed in my front molars. He always said to me, "don't worry, they're fine, don't need to get fillings for them, we'll just keep an eye on them if they get bigger ".... That philosophy from a dentist is so hard to find. He could have pushed fillings onto me to make money, but he recognized that for the time being, it was unnecessary work. A dentist with the attitude of only drilling when it's really medically needed, is the kind you want. I had a tooth crown placed here less that a year ago (10/20/25) and started experiencing severe temperature sensitivity about three weeks ago. When I went back in yesterday with my concerns, Dr. Bradley Atkinson completely ignored the physical evidence in my mouth. Within 30 seconds of sitting in the chair, the assistant tried to lay the lead vest on me to get a xray before even seeing Dr Atkinson. I told her I was paying out of pocket & could not afford a xray. She said numerous times she would "see if the Dr could come see me". I firmly repeated several times that I fully expect to see the dentist before I left. Dr Atkinson did give me a xray with no cost to me, which I appreciate, but still confused why it was necessary. He didn't even investigate the faulty crown before taking the xray (which took less than 1 minute to produce). After reviewing my new xray, he pressed down on the computer screen with a dental tool as he was going over the image with me & then went to put the same tool in my mouth. I asked if that was the tool he just pressed the screen with & if he could clean it or use another tool. He laughed it off & said, "ha, you should come work for me" & some other mumbo jumbo & used the unsanitary tool anyway. After asking several times for him to actually examine the crown, there was a massive, audible gap between the bottom of the crown & my gumline where his dental explorer tool was physically catching & making a sound. I asked, "do you not feel & hear that catching?" He said it was fine. Instead of admitting that the crown failed to seal properly & fixing it, he tried to talk fast, confuse me & was aggressively pressuring me into agreeing to an expensive, irreversible root canal. I asked him if the xray would show any nerve issues & he said, "no, you tell me about nerve pain." What was the point of the xray then??? He even tried to show me an image of another patient's xray to convince me of something. Not sure what that was about, but I knew it was a HIPPA violation! Realizing I was not being heard & instead being hustled into an unnecessary procedure to cover up a bad crown placement, I got up from the chair & walked out. When I called back to legally request a digital copy of my X-rays & files, the front desk girl said she'd send the files, but I still haven't received the files. Before we hung up, I asked if she had my email, which she didn't. I gave her my email and said goodbye. Glad I asked! If you want an honest, sanitary doctor who won't treat you like a sales quota, go somewhere else. Dr Atkinson talks so fast & in circles, I feel like he's trying to distract you to upsale you. I'm disappointed he didn't stand behind his (over $1300) work & am getting a second opinion tomorrow. UPDATE: A lovely woman named TT, called me to apologize & explained things on the technical side. If the new, follow up Dentist tells me I was incorrect about the crown gap, I will delete my negative review...
