Sizable flooring purchase for about 1500 SF for 5 rooms and stairs. Carpet arrived from manufacturer, sat in warehouse unchecked until install date, only to learn there was a flaw and it could not be installed. Back up carpet was a month out. They did offer about a 5.5% discount due to the delay. The kicker was after the delay to get the product, days before the 2nd install, we were told their installer was no longer available & it was up to me, to find my own installer. No back up, no alternative plan, just if you want it, you figure it out. I incurred additional costs, stress, a delayed move and wasted hours of my time securing an installer (calling around to all the other flooring companies I probably should have gone to in the first place). There are plenty of flooring companies in San Diego. M Austin doesn't need to be your first choice.

The red flags started to go off while Paul was at our home installing windows. He took lemons from our tree without asking (photos included). Honestly, had he asked, I would have told him to please take some, but he did not bother to ask. I was still going to let it slide, but he came back for round two. This made me wonder about whether items in my home would be safe. A little over a week later, he came by to patch the stucco around the windows. After he finished, I had to go around and climb up a ladder to clean all of the windows off, because there was stucco on the frames of the brand new windows, which he had not bothered to wipe off. One of the windows even had stucco on the glass. I asked him about it, and he said "it's ok, paint it" so I ended up just cleaning them off myself. I was lucky that I went out and checked before he left, because if I had trusted that he did a good job and waited until the next day, the stucco would have dried into the frames and it would have been too late. We are currently in the process of remodeling, and I had our dining chairs outside. Instead of using a ladder, he used one of my chairs (without asking). It looked like he tried to wash it off, but it still had stains from the stucco. If you can go with another company, I recommend that you stay away from CPD. We were originally going to have them do other work, but after this, I was so glad that we didn't.

We were pressured to sign paperwork and allow emergency equipment to be placed in our home. We were also encouraged to have our AAA insurance use Fast Dry OC for the restoration services. As we had more time to understand the situation and our insurance claim, we decided that we no longer wanted to use Fast Dry OC for the additional work. We communicated this clearly and asked them to remove their equipment. Despite only having the equipment in our home for approximately two days, we were billed approximately $1,100. We felt this charge was excessive considering the short amount of time the equipment was there. Throughout the process, we felt pressured to authorize additional work and services. When we declined and apologized for changing our decision, the communication became increasingly unpleasant. Ryan became rude and eventually stopped responding to some of our messages. Our experience left us feeling that we were pressured into making decisions during an already stressful situation involving significant water damage. We expected professionalism, transparency, and respect when dealing with a homeowner experiencing an emergency. Based on our experience, we would not choose Fast Dry OC again. I recommend homeowners carefully read everything before signing, ask for a detailed written estimate of all charges, and make sure they understand exactly what they are authorizing before allowing work to proceed. nigh .
