Hm, I wrote a review for the outbound route of this bus, but it's pretty applicable to the inbound route as well:
TLDR:
Probably the best MUNI line in the entire city (though I guess the bar is not high). Also, pretty sure this bus is the best because of its cons. See below.
Cons:
- Doesn't go anywhere anybody really wants to go. Which explains why nobody is ever on it. It's basically just a bus for the folks who live in the steep part of Noe Valley.
- Doesn't run frequently enough.
Pros:
- Never anybody crazy on it, runs mostly on schedule.
- Clean. Because it's not as well trafficked as other routes.
- Bus drivers tend to be nicer. Because they don't have to deal with the crazy of the other routes.
- Fast. It tends to take neighborhoody streets (Diamond, Eureka), that aren't as trafficked as other routes. As a result, you get down to the Castro pretty quickly and transfer to the MUNI metro to get to downtown. If all goes well, you can catch a bus from pretty central Noe Valley (24th + Diamondish) to downtown (Powell/Montgomery) in 20 minutes (assuming you catch the first inbound train and no delays on the muni metro, which, let's be honest, is wishful thinking -- but hey! It's happened occasionally.)
BONUS:
- No known reports of people pooping on it. read more
