Did I wake up in 1985??

Coziest muni there is. So excited to be home everyday. For reals, seen this go up yesterday and it raises questions?

I frequently use BART & MUNI to navigate the Bay Area. The MUNI has grown on me as it is sometimes late yet often not & gets me to where I want to go. The Castro MUNI station is clean & gets you right into the heart of the Castro. The most endearing quality of this MUNI station is the black & white photos paying homage to the patron saint of the Castro none other then Harvey Milk. One particularly poignant photograph is of the street flyer used to commemorate Harvey Milk's assassination as 40,000 people gathered w/ candles across the entire length of Market St marching somberly from the Castro to City Hall to pay honor Harvey Milk.

This is the only Muni station with a green belt on Market St., San Francisco, CA. Approved by the planning department in 1973, this significant site was designed and built during Harvey Milk's last year's of his life. Milk was a transit advocate and the station needs to be preserved, not demolished and replaced.

Tired of seeing all these people bring their dogs and cats on MUNI. What about the people who are allergic to your pets?? And worst of all MUNI doesn't do a thing about it.

The Golden Gate Ferry ride offers spacious quarters, amazing views, and good snack and beverage choices. There are cozy chairs inside or comfortable chairs on either outside deck (deck levels dependent on which ferry boat you get). There are cell phone charging stations by several seats if you bring your charging chord. And staff and riders alike always seem overjoyed to be sharing the experience with you. I take this ferry several times a month sometimes during the week and weekend to visit family. This is truly a unique and quintessential Bay Area experience worth having.

Our intent was to ferry back to SFO then leisurely muni or foot mobile our way back to Inner Sunset. The ferry ride was well organized but you need to know a few things and they are: Be sure you have your Clipper card. If you don't you will need to scan the upc code from the sign at the entrance and load your card for at least $10 OR ELSE, you will not be on that ride (There are attendants at the entrance with their scanner for your Clipper Card) Soft drinks, snacks and adult beer and wine are available for purchase on the 2nd level. Lower level, 2nd level, 3rd level provide seating. 2nd and 33rd level have outside deck seating. Restroom facilities available on the lower and 2nd level. Best part? San Francisco blessed me with a perfect weather and blue sky day so my sail back to SFO was ABSOLUTELY perfect. I'll hand it to the ferry system at large! They got the system down pact in summary? and you want to cruse/sail the Bay? Ferry is the way to go ($8/ one way per adulty)

She told me it's just normal there with the homeless. I guess they just put a blind eye to it. But think it's kind of unmindful of safety of travelers. Even as a modern transit space, it does looks nice, with very tall escalators inside, but the safety was not exactly felt here, especially at night. Hopefully they'll actually enforce things than just let things be. But perhaps it's foreshadowing how things are handled in the city.

So only one bus to catch on Haight Street at Divisadero. And since the already truncated 21's route was so pathetically short and not useful since they messed with it after COVID, what's the point of this now? And then the bus line actually came, and it's actually ridiculously convenient for me, much more convenient than the old 6 used to be. I still have my issues with it. The main one is for my Hayes Street neighbors who live west of Masonic Avenue. How do they catch the bus now? They either have to walk all the way to Stanyan Street and wait forever for a not terribly useful 33-Ashbury/18th Street, or they have to walk uphill to the 5-Fulton. That's poor planning, especially for people with limited mobility who have trouble traversing steep hills. The entire point of a bus on Hayes Street is that between Stanyan and Scott Streets, it's more or less flat--or at least as flat as a half-mile in San Francisco can realistically be. But another thing happened when they killed my line and moved the 6 over to my street; I can now ride the bus almost doorstep to doorstep both to the Upper Haight and to my brother's house. That has been super useful to me--maybe even too useful, because when I'm lazy, I sometimes take the bus to Free Gold Watch instead of doing my normal walk through the Panhandle, which is better for my health, although sometimes not for my bottomless irritation with my fellow San Franciscans. I still want to rage against the dying of the light--the light in this case being a familiar old bus line--but I would be lying if I said that this change hasn't been useful to me personally. Muni could actually solve most of this problem by having either the 6 or the 7 stay on Stanyan and then turn onto Hayes (which ends at Stanyan) and stay on that street until it turns wherever Downtown. But that would make too much sense, and the SFMTA is too busy spending its money painting huge red zones all over the city to do what's right for local bus riders and drivers alike. This should be a three-star review, but the added convenience is worth at least a Yelp star.

Unfortunately, the experience was stressful from the start. After booking, communication was extremely poor. Email responses were slow, often taking days. We became concerned after reading Yelp reviews mentioning no-shows, lateness, and poor service, and sadly, those concerns proved valid. Even receiving something as basic as our payment receipt, especially since they don't accept credit cards, took over a week. Confirming our itinerary and driver details also required repeated follow-up and wasn't finalized until just days before the trip. We clearly communicated that punctuality was critical because we had prepaid tours and luncheon reservations at a winery. When we finally spoke with the owner, we were assured everything would be fine. It wasn't. Our scheduled pickup time was 10:00 AM. By 10:15, no one had arrived. Calls to both the owner and driver went unanswered. By 10:30, with no communication at all, our group was understandably very worried. Eventually, we tracked down an assistant who had previously sent our receipt. She answered, apologized, and promised to investigate. The driver later called and said he'd arrive in 10-15 minutes. That turned into another 30+ minutes, followed by additional delays. In total, the driver arrived about 90 minutes late. As a result, we missed our first winery stop entirely. What was most frustrating was not just the lateness, but the complete lack of proactive communication. No warning. No ETA updates. No accountability. We were simply left waiting and wondering if anyone was coming at all. If your plans depend on reliability, professionalism, and being on time, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere. This company caused unnecessary stress and significantly disrupted what should have been a special day.
