I love buying from local stores and shops in Fullerton there is so much history and so many places to check out. Black Hole should be considered a local institution for heavy punk, new wave, Brit pop and alternative music lovers. When I was looking for the obscure bands that the radio and Hollywood would not play or give love to I could always count on Black Hole records to fill that void of artistic need for the different and not the mundane. Bill is very knowledgeable when it comes to music and you can easily spend hours talking to him about music. He also has a band called naughty women check them out. It beats waiting for albums to come in the mail from Amazon crime.

Similarly, when I went to checkout one hour later, I was quickly and warmly attended to. You read that right. One! Hour! There were a lot of people, but it honestly felt nice. The air buzzed with literary excitement. There were plenty of books for all tastes. I personally love literary fiction, and I was very excited to find Mark Salzman. I overheard other people gushing over their hidden gem finds, too. In the end, I got 8 books, 2 postcards, and 1 tote for less than $26. On a normal day, would I have left with all 8 books? No, but I definitely would have left with 4 of them for almost the same price. Great finds with great prices. Will definitely come back on a regular day, too.

I checked it out a few times and I was sad to see it had closed. Here I found an amazing record: Linda Rondstadt - Canciones de mi Padre. It was at incredible quality and at a great price. I collect mostly Transformers figures/comics and it's kinda hard for me to find a shop that gives me a little bit of everything about my favorite franchise. But a while back they had a HUGE selection of IDW Transformers back issues. I went crazy and got a bunch of them whenever I stopped by to pick up the current Skybound run. All the staff is super nice and genuinely super kind! I've had no bad experiences here and they're all super knowledgeable about the things I'm interested in buying. My friend and I were approached by three different employees during our time there. They asked if they could assist us with anything and gave some great recommendations. I was looking for a fantasy book for my teenage brother and the employee was incredibly helpful giving recommendations, finding the "teen book of the month." I didn't even know they had a teen book of the month! The organization of the store was great. The categories and book selections that were specially displayed were especially helpful. For example, in their AAPI stories section I was able to find some really interesting books that I might have not otherwise seen. A selection of their Barnes and Noble specialty book covers that feature some classic works (like Pride and Prejudice and Winnie the Pooh) were on sale for between $8-$12. For such a beautiful high quality book, I would definitely return to purchase one of those at that price. The other books though were a bit pricey. The employees there made this visit extra enjoyable. I don't go to Barnes and Noble very often, but yesterday's visit makes me want to return again soon.

Programme sells skateboards, clothing and vinyl so while I'm here may as well peruse right? So I packed up my records and the kiddo and off we went to Fullerton. Programme is located at the tail end of a strip mall. You're best parking in the main lot and walking there because there isn't much parking in front of the store. Programme isn't the biggest place but it's mighty and wall to wall of all the stuff I like. Their vinyl selection was excellent (and in alphabetical order) and they had lots of great band shirts. Let's just say I went home with more than signed Terror records and the kiddo was EXTREMELY happy with the shirts she chose and I paid for lol. YES, I will be returning to Programme. They host a lot of live shows in their store and occasionally book heavy hitters to play in an environment where you'll never be closer to the action. Just gotta be quick because limited capacity means fast sellouts. Highly recommended!

Entered with an old credit voucher worth $50 from previous book sales. I figured that I would get a…read morefew books from a local bookstore rather than online because I already had the credit here. Firstly, I searched their online inventory website for the desired books. Website reported books in stock but were not on selves. The staff couldn't locate them either and said they would update the inventory. So the inventory site is unreliable. Secondly, upon ringing me up for $20, I produced the voucher thinking it would cover the entire cost. Unfortunately, it is only good for half the price of your purchase. When I expressed my confusion about this policy. The tall crotchety old man raised his voice and loudly repeated: "Good for HALF the purchase!" Sir there is no only else inside the store. It's not loud in there. I was your only customer all afternoon. There was no need to raise your voice at me. How embarrassing to get to the ripe old age of grey and still be throwing tantrums at paying customers no less! I should have left the store without purchasing anything but I was just so stunned! I understand that I failed to thoroughly read the small text at the bottom of the voucher that explains their policy. The old man could have simply referred to the text on the voucher instead of displaying such disrespectful behavior. Take your business elsewhere because your patronage is obviously not valued here.
