Fantastic late night food! If you are reading this after 2:AM, don't bother with the rest of the review. The words will confuse you...just go! I had the Chicken Shawarma which was great. I'm sure the other one is also. They take some fresh bread, put on the toppings (I think it is pickles, tahini, garlic mayo and your meat) and then roll it and put it under a sandwich press to get everything hot. Add your own Sriracha. It's great. I tried a falafel ball and didn't really like it. Maybe it's better in a sandwich but it had a strong flavor and didn't have that combo of crunch on the outside and moist goodness on the inside. A lot of folks were getting the chicken sandwich which looked awesome. They take a raw piece of dough rolled flat, add on cubed chicken, some mozz cheese and throw it in the oven. In a few minutes everything is cooked and they add on your lettuce, tomato and whatever else and roll it up. Pizza looked fine also...same dough but with pizza toppings for a very thin crust treat. There is a guy in front running crepes. Those look good also. I doubt there is a bad thing on the menu. Full disclosure....It was 3:AM, I'd had some drinks. read more

I didn't have a chance to take photos because we were so hungry but that also speaks to how AMAZING their shawarma is. Why four stars? Two of the employees weren't wearing masks and I saw three different customers come in without a mask without a problem... I really wish they wore masks and enforced it among customers because I'm not comfortable going back for now until that changes unfortunately. My husband & I ordered like half the menu because I missed Lebanese cuisine so much. Growing up near Dearborn MI the heart of Arab America, I have such a high bar for Arab cuisine and especially shawarma it's hard to find something that meets my standards. But Muncheez did not disappoint in quality of food at all-- they were phenomenal with an on point taste, perfect balance of ingredients and sauce, that warming in a panini press of the sandwich afterwards which is so clutch. What I had and will order again: mixed shawarma sandwich, the cheesesteak sandwich (wow just as good as the shawarma), curly fries weren't as good as the regular fries to me because I prefer fluffier fries, kibbeh, and lahmacun (I could inhale 5 of these) Overall, food was on point but I was way too uncomfortable with the lack of masks to be coming back until that changes. I liked the option of family platters, but will have to wait to try those read more

My friend and I walked in at midnight one night because we saw it was open until 2:30 am which is AMAZING. I don't know if it tasted amazing because we were starving or what it was. But we shared a salad bowl with half chicken half falafel and basically everything else on there. The falafel was so fresh and tasted so unique with its spices. The chicken didn't really taste like chicken but was still good nonetheless. And the hummus was so so good. I love that this is one of the few late night spots that isn't completely terrible food for you. Healthy and yummy read more

This used to be our favorite spot for shawarma cravings. Back in 2014 when the owner would make delicious shawarma and a lady would make finger licking good crepes. Went there last week after years and was devastated by the experience we had. It was busy as usual. Didn't mind the 30 minutes wait for the food even though at 9 pm on a Sunday, they ran out of everything except for beef and chicken shawarma. The shawarma bread was super hard and it barely had chicken inside. 1/3 of the shawarma was empty and the rest was filled with dry chicken, no flavor, no sauce, some fries and I just had to eat it because I didn't want to throw away food. Owner- I'm glad to see that your hard work paid off and your business is doing really well. But the quality has gone down so much so that I wouldn't want to come back. Please take control of the quality that you maintained for such a long time. Good luck and God bless. Hope you and your family is doing well. read more

Dropped in on a weekday evening after hearing that their crepes are pretty good. Did not realize how good they would be. I haven't had that many crepes in my life, but for what it's worth, this was the best crepe I've ever had. I chose the Kinder crepe (I haven't had the Kinder Joy candy in years, so it was a pleasant surprise seeing this on the menu) and my friend had the Twix crepe, and both were super soft, warm, and gooey. They were also prepared super fast. Definitely want to come back to Muncheez for a full meal to try their shawarmas (they looked good!) read more

Now that's a lebanese restaurant. The food is very close to the real thing. Shawarma chicken and meat are very good. Falafel was okay. The chef there is dosing a great job taking care of everything... everything else was good. I am giving them a 5 star because it is very hard to find a true lebanese restaurant in this area. Much closer to the real thing than many other restaurants. read more

Had heard a lot about this place being the go-to late night spot when craving Mediterranean food. The gyro sandwich was mediocre at best. Platter was way better and filling. I've passed this place on foot before - it's sandwiched in a rowhouse between a Hashi Sushi and a spices shop. To be honest, it's never enticed me inside despite the rather unusual name. So why'd I visit today? Well, I signed up for the so-called "Belly Rewards" a while ago at Lerner fitness (providing the URL here - https://bellycard.com/ - b/c prior to some time ago, I'd never heard of it myself) and today, I received an email that I could get a free wrap or free crepes here sometime in the next month. I was a little surprised to have qualified for a reward when I'd never frequented this place before and b/c I've only used the "Belly Rewards" thing twice. But a freebie is a freebie so I gave this place a visit. It doesn't have a huge selection of food it's adequate. I got the tuna salad wrap - hard to mess up - and it was nice. The tuna salad includes corn but corn really doesn't have too much flavor so it didn't stand out much at all. The wrap was supposed to come with a pickle, which it did not, but I don't like pickles much away so I didn't complain. The seating area isn't very large - there are two picnic-bench like tables and the other seating is a counter area with unusual-looking red-framed plastic stools. The bathroom is on the other side of a mural and pretty narrow and tiny, Georgetown-style, but very clean. They do also have crepes but there isn't a huge selection - the only savory crepe they serve is ham and cheese. If you want a sweet one, you can add strawberry or banana. So if it's crepes you want, I'd go to Crepeaway instead, which serves only crepes and has a pretty nice selection of both savory and sweet crepes. All in all, the tuna salad wrap was OK but I wouldn't necessarily make a special trip back to this place unless I was already in the area and hungry for a quick and inexpensive bite. read more

Off on a side road in Georgetown, this hip looking little joint will surprise you. Crepes? Downstairs. Shawarma? Two kinds, two spits. Pizza oven? Of course. Lebanese finger foods? Damn good. We tried the kibbe, and spinach pies. Don't tell my aunt, but the kibbe were as good as or better than hers! My shawarma was solid, with a slight American twist to it. By Americanized, I don't mean like with Chinese or Mexican food. It was real. My wife and daughter got a labneh veggie wrap, which they loved. Curly fries were frozen, not fresh...so no points there, but they were fine. If you're in DC, it's worth jumping over to Georgetown to grab a bite to eat. It's a small place, and you're close to the heat from the kitchen - so lose the tie, unbutton your collar and roll up your sleeves. read more

I rarely give five stars but I have nothing bad to say about this places food! I've come here around five times and I usually get the chicken shawarma and fries and I LOVE IT. The shawarma is really really good and the fries are also well seasoned. They also have various lemonades that are really good and I've also had their zatar (it's like a pizza) and that's also pretty good. They also have crepes but I haven't had one yet. I like that their menu has so many options. The only thing that sucks is that there isn't much sitting space and the bathrooms are like airplane bathroom sized but hey it's DC afterall. read more

I loveeeee this place. Please go if you want reliably good food all the time!! To be fair- I've only ever ordered their shawarmas. But my friends have tried other entrees and love them too! These shwarmas taste very authentic. Most similar to the ones overseas in the Middle East. They are not oily. Also, they have French fries in them! Also - try their Kinder chocolate crepe! It's delicious!! A little too sweet if you have one for yourself, but just enough sweetness if you split between you and friends! I also love their mint lemonade! It's actually made from scratch which gives it that perfect blend. Ambience: it's a small place, with limited seating. Not particularly the cleanest but also not dirty. This place is really just good for the food -- more like a place is for a quick bite. I have taken family here that had been visiting DC...and they still talk about the food. In the spring and summer I take the shwarmas to-go and sit outside Georgetown waterfront. Service: fast. read more

This place has gone down the gutter since the pandemic, new ownership maybe? A barely dressed homeless guy raided the fridge and I kindly asked then (twice) to pls give me some tissue and hand sanitizer so I could wipe down the fridge door myself so I could get my drink, zero response. The two ladies beyond the counter are beyond aloof. Given it two more chances since first bad experience - no more. Kinda sad, Im gtown local and used to really like Muncheez. Ps. The kibbe is 1/3 the size of what it used to be & the Lahmajeen has exactly zero toppings now - used to have, lettuce, tomato, pickes, olives, mint etc.. read more

I stopped by Muncheez with a friend after seeing a movie at the AMC in Georgetown. Muncheez is a small sandwich shop on Wisconsin, just south of M Street. As far as the space goes, it's small. You walk in and the counter/kitchen area are to the left. If you walk towards the back you'll find a few tables and chairs for seating. This is definitely the kind of place where 90% of people grab their food and go. As far as service goes, the staff were fine. Not mind-blowingly friendly, but there were nice enough. The thing that has been weird to me about Muncheez in the years I had passed by it was that there always seems to be a group of people standing out front talking/watching the people that pass by. Maybe I'm crazy, but having a group of people stare at me as I approach a restaurant is a good way to make sure I don't actually enter the restaurant. As far as food goes, I had the chicken shawarma wrap. My friend swore it would be great. It was good. The wrap was a decent size. The garlic whip and the pickles made the wrap for me. The chicken was ok, but I've had more tender, juicer chicken shawarma elsewhere. The French Fries were odd. They didn't really add anything to the wrap for me flavor-wise . Pros: they stay open super late (and are one of the only places left in Georgetown that do so). Quick, reasonably friendly if you can get past the stoop kids, cheap. Probably the greatest thing ever if your a college kid who has been out partying and drinking all night. Cons: space, stoop kids. Not quite enough for 4 stars from me, but they certainly get the job done. 3.4/5. read more

Muncheez is an ideal spot for some fantastic late night munchies Located in Georgetown, this spot closes at 4am on weekends so this is a great way to end any night out. This vegan knows her falafel, and damn this spot is gooood. After a 5 hour train ride to D.C., a couple beers down the street, I was in the need of something quick, affordable and filling before going to bed on a recent visit to D.C. Looking in the Georgetown area around midnight, this was the only place open, thankfully, I love falafel so my fiance and I decided to come here to finish off our night. Muncheez is a small shop located right off the main road, I am not sure about the parking situation because we walked here, but it was just a few blocks away from the Four Seasons (where we were staying for the weekend). The place was empty when we showed up so we were able to grab two falafel sandwiches (~$15 including tax) to take back to the hotel. By the time we left there was practically a line out the door so we were lucky to get there before the rush. We took our wraps back to the hotel; they were fresh and hot right when we dug into them. Now, I am not sure if it was the beers talking, but this was some of the best falafel I've ever had. I think there was mint (?) in it? I am not sure, but the herbs were amazing, a thin pita that was perfectly warm, toasted and just the right portion size to fill you up without being too much. I would come back here again for sure if I was in the area for a quick and delicious meal. read more

Racial discrimination based on race. Do not go there. So, where can I even start... my friends and I have been waiting for more than 1 hour in this restaurant. They have told us that the shawarma meals were over for the night. However, they were still serving the shawarmas to specific people that were either from their race or in uniforms. From this experience, it is clear to see that if you have a dark skin tone, you are likely to end up disrespected in this restaurant. They should be ashamed to operate such business based on racial discrimination. read more

We had the beef and chicken shawarma a section was burnt to a crisp and the cook cut it off and put it in our sandwich. The sandwiches tasted like I was chewing glass, just terrible. The other issue was the amount of meat was ridiculous it had maybe 2oz in the sandwich so you bite into bread then the burnt meat comes into play. Sorry, I will never go back, especially since the owner himself was careless. The one that made my sandwiches was the one cutting the shawarma in the pics on yelp. read more

This is not only the closest you can get to the real shawarma in Lebanon, I can assure you it is even better than most you can get there. Although they are providing some twists to accommodate the wider clientele, they managed to maintain the real taste of the unique Lebanese shawarma. If you don't know, the Lebanese shawarma (chicken and meat) is different than other versions in the region, and it needs some years of expertise and skills. Serendipity... I was just walking and got hungry and didn't want to drive around to find parking for other restaurants. I saw this small eatery place. I liked the name.. Didn't know how Muncheez would be like so I went for something safe. Pizza. Small dough was rolled out to be Very thin round shape and base for my pizza. It took less than 5 min to bake it. It had perfectly balanced ratio of crust to topping/cheese. Crepe was one of the best I think (close to european crepe... thin, soft crepe). I tried simple butter/sugar. It's good. They even cut crepe into bite size. Very affordable price and satisfying meal/snack. When you are hungry and on a budget in Gtown, try this place. read more

This place has been on my radar for so long even before it opened. I seriously called them several times before opening just so I can grab a FTR. They were never able to give me a firm open date and when I saw someone had already reviewed the place, it was like the wind in the sails had died. That is until I saw one of those 50% off from one of those daily deals site. So we finally got a chance to use the vouchers this past weekend. PARKING SUCKS...but just as well since this place is not quite so commodious enough for sit-down meals. There is a parking garage right across the street but didn't feel like paying more for parking than on food...so we pulled off to the side *gasp* in a no parking area. Ran in, grabbed the food, and ran back out. On the drive back, we started digging into the Grilled Chicken and Cheese wrap, the Ham and Cheese crepe and a Nutella crepe. The grilled chicken and cheese was good, but OMG the Ham and Cheese was AMAZING! Definitely can't wait to go back to get loads more of them. The Nutella crepe was good, but very sweet. read more

***This review is for delivery only*** We were in DC on holiday and exhausted from the day's adventures so we decieded to order in. This place had good reviews and offered delivery. We ordered a LOT of food: Shawarma platter Curly fries Regular fries Brisket cheese-steak wrap Margarita pizza Sugar, butter & cinnamon crepes Spinach pies Falafel We set up a picnic on our balcony and waited but instead of getting the food delivered to our room, they just dropped it off at the front desk. No one contacted us. We had a missed call way after the fact that probably came in after the food was delivered, so I won't fault the business for this, I will give them the benefit of the doubt and say it was the hotel staff. Their loss though, because we had a nice tip ready for the delivery guy. Anyway, the food was cold by the time we got it, and everything had this taste like it might have been good had it been warm. The only thing any of us really liked was the Brisket cheese-steak wrap. That was 4 stars even cold. Everything else was just average, except the fries which we threw away because they were terrible. Next time I'm in DC, I might head in and give this place another chance, but with all the choices out there it's doubtful. read more

Extremely dry and bland. People that work there are nice and that's where the extra star came from. I ordered a beef shawarma pita today and it wasn't bad tasting necessarily, it was just very bland and the bread was dry and stiff. I am usually huge fan of shawarma places and I eat it a couple times a week from random places but unfortunately this one was kind of mediocre. I have never had beef taste so bland in my life. The food is definitely not gross or anything, you will be fine eating here, but it's pretty disappointing if you are looking for some good food with real flavor. read more

Get the strawberry nutella crepe and fresh watermelon juice! Such a nice treat on a hot day. The chicken shawarma and beef shawarma are tasty and satisfying. The meat is carved off of huge spit rods fresh with every order. The beef shawarma is my favorite, as it has more veggies than the chicken, but both are yummy and wrapped in a rich and chewy pita. Service is very sweet, as well. My only complaint, and the reason for 3 instead of 4 stars, is the foul smell of the place.
