Service was fine, chicken was hella dry and no sauce to wash it down. Chicken shawarma and chicken and cheese. The desserts are great.

I am Lebanese but I relax my standards somewhat when I'm in Washington DC. I'm not expecting mind-blowing shawarma - just something I can stomach. In a word, the shawarma here is, well, bad. The chicken is dry and overcooked. The oil/fats that usually make a shawarma sandwich great are also a bit rancid, as is the garlic. The bread is stale. Ethnic restaurants in busy commercial areas like Gtown are understandably tempted to lower their standards or, more precisely, to meet the often low standards of their clientele. I can see how Muncheez gets away with it. It shouldn't. Go to Micho's instead if you actually care about the food rather than the neighborhood. read more

Muncheez - Lebanese Near Me - Washington, DC, District of Columbia

Cute little spot near the Georgetown Waterfront. Prices were pretty affordable and the food.....oooo...the food was damn good. Walked in and the place was a lot smaller than I thought....empty on a Tuesday night...Top 40 music playing in the background....employees ready to assist. We ordered the Ham and Cheese Crepes and the Thyme wrap. Waited maybe 5 min and our food was quickly delivered to us. The Thyme wrap was a little bite of heaven....so many flavors wrapped in a crispy wrap. Yummmm. The Ham and Cheese Crepe was....well......cheesy.....and gooood. Fun little spot and the food was kick a**. Try it out!! read more

I appreciate the authenticity of their food and it tastes great. The drinks are also a treat as are the unexpected crepes on the menu.

This small lebanese place, only really distinguishable going down Wisconsin ave south is a vertical sign peaking out from around a corner, has become one of my favorite places in washington by accident! Keep it simple with the schwarma items, which are made beautifully behind the cash registers and end up quickly in front of you are very good. They definitely undersell how good their food it, but don't tell them that. Only cons is that sitting room is at a premium, but it does make it great for a quick bite during a date. read more

Although new, this is quickly becoming a favorite little crepe, sandwich and flatbread shop in Georgetown. The staff is really cool, the decor was very well thought out with gorgeous, vibrant murals, awesome futuristic furniture and the greatest tasty treats you can order for a very decent price and genuine freshness. They make the crepes right in front of you in their open kitchen. I have to keep coming back to this place and try everything. I ordered "the Dude" and the nutella and banana crepe. I was impressed by how delicious everything was and they even serve labne! This place is now open late on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays until 4 a.m. How cool is that? Good food at the wee morning hours in a hip, funky spot with beautiful patrons is always a great thing! Portions are not huge but just right, prices are reasonable considering how fresh and delicious everything is. read more

This is a great spot for late night food! I always used to pass by this place in Georgetown but i never bothered going inside because of the way it looks from the outside. Their food is sooo yummy! i always get their chicken sandwich with extra cheese. What makes this place even better is that they have sriracha! Quick and easy service, food is made fairly quickly, pricing is great, staff is friendly, and the food is always delicious :) read more

I rarely give places one star. I have to not even be able to finish the food for that to happen. This was the case with Muncheez. I came in at around 1AM on a Wednesday night. Now you may be thinking, "Danny, how can you review a place based on the fact that you went there at 1AM?". They weren't closing for another hour and a half, so it's not like I came there 5 minutes before closing. No excuse. If they can't provide a reasonable meal after midnight, then they should close earlier. I'm usually a very big fan of chicken shawarma, and I've tried most of the best ones all over NY. I took one look at the chicken shawarma they had spinning, and I said no thanks. It just looked... bad. So I ordered the beef shawarma which looked a little better, and a side order of curly fries. I took it to go, as most do, and went back to my hotel which was not even 5 minutes away. Most of the curly fries were stale, even though they made it for me right as I placed my order. Don't know how they got super hard in 5 minutes, so that wasn't even edible. And the beef shawarma? Don't get me started. It was the worst shawarma I've ever eaten. It had absolutely no flavor what so ever. I was perplexed. Maybe thats why the guy looked at me strange when I asked for the shawarma plain: he really wanted some other flavors to mask the dreariness of that shawarma I'm guessing. read more

I give Muncheez a solid 3.5. Bestie and I have wanted to go to Muncheez Mania for quite some time now. We've heard great things from friends and knew we had to go after a night out clubbing. We chose to go after a night out on Bestie's last night in DC! Muncheez was PACKED!! We must have been there around 2:30AM or later and more and more people (or shall I say GUYS) kept filing in. So ladies, if you're looking to meet some fun guys- head to Muncheez! WARNING: This review is semi embarrassing. Bestie and I ordered the Popcorn Falafel, Muncheez Meat Pie, and the Kinder Crepe. The Popcorn Falafel was great- perfectly sized falafel balls with a crunchy outside and a smooth inside. The tahini sauce it was paired with was great for dipping! I'd definitely get these again. The Muncheez Meat Pie was also really good. It was basically like a grounded hamburger in a wrap! It was surprisingly not soggy and held together well. The Kinder Crepe had to taste good because it had Kinders in it, but the texture of the Crepe itself could have been a little crispier. This is where it gets embarrassing. In all honesty, Bestie and I had downed one too many drinks that evening. So, the food we ordered did not satisfy our stomachs. We looked at each other when all the food was gone and knew what had to be done. So, Danielle (me) was back on line. This time around we ordered the Chicken and Cheese and the Sugar and Butter Crepe. The Chicken and Cheese was a nice and refreshing wrap- but not mind blowing. The Sugar and Butter crepe had a good flavor to it, but it was so soggy that it upset our stomachs. With that said, Muncheez is definitely a fun place for a late night meal. It definitely beats ordering pies of pizza from an unknown location and feeling sick the next morning! read more

It's average; I mean it's not bad, but it's isn't a "OMG, I need to eat more of this or else I won't be able to survive" type of a deal. Service was nice and fast, but then again it was only my friends and I in the store. I might be back if I am in the area, will see! read more

Love, love, love this place! Especially now that it's open late night! The bread from the saj with labne or za'atar is exactly like what I ate in Lebanon! Amazingly delicious- topped with tomato, cucumber, olives and mint. They even have a KINDER CREPE- soooooo tasty! This place reminds me so much of Lebanon, even down to the loud club music- it makes me happy :) read more

It was not good.... go here if you want to eat cheap after spending big bucks on the bars around Georgetown. I had the beef shawarma, it was kind of dry and tasteless and man I love beef shawarma! :( Price is reasonable, location is great for a cheap eat in Georgetown... but the food could be improved. Lebanese food is one of my favorites because the flavors are intense and fresh. I couldn't find neither in my food. read more

Cheap, quick and delicious. I've tried the beef shawarma platter and the regular pita and both are amazing. The platter is A LOT of food especially since it's heavy with fries and hummus. Still amazing though. If I had to be picky my pita was a bit on the dry side I think it was because there wasn't enough sauce but still good. read more

Needed to kill some time after a movie with my little cousin so we dashed into this place. Literally. Like it started to freakishly downpour and its facing that Colonial Parking garage so it was def a plus location wise, ha. The first thing that I noticed was how FREAKING cool the murals were on the interior making the small space pop. Once we figured out the menu we split the Chicken and Cheese wrap. It wasn't what I expected but was hot and yummy. It tasted fresh and the wait wasn't extremely long. Also ended up gettin a Nutella Crepe...yep def a great life decision minus the fact that I almost burned my mouth on it lol. The only issue I had was with the fountain drinks. Like the trash can sits next to it and there were like 50 million little gnats flying around when you tried to get to the drinks, eeeeeks no bueno. . . For Gerogetown this place is well priced with just enough character and boom for your tastebuds!! read more

Muncheez - Black lights for lunch time, I approve - Lebanese Near Me - Washington, DC, District of Columbia

My friend and I were very hungry after our day on the river. Since this was the closest place that didn't seem overly over-priced, we decided to try it. When we stepped in, the place was very tiny and cramped and had sort of a weird smell. Considering the meats were out cooking, I was expecting for it to smell great and make me want to eat it. It didn't-- the smell was just weird. I ordered the beef shawarma. I really wasn't into it. I did devour it in a matter of seconds because I was so hungry. But also it was tiny. I mean I paid nearly $9 for that wrap so I was expecting to get something almost burrito-sized I guess. But it was completely unsatisfying on the portion side. Next, the overall taste was just strange to me. I liked the pita wrapping and the beef was okay, but it didn't seem particularly tender to me so I didn't like it all that much. The veggies/other toppings and sauce were okay, but it didn't all work well together to me. The whole thing was just alright, but I guess this is what you get when you are trying to spend under $10 for lunch in Georgetown! My friend got a salad and it was also $9 because she added chicken to it, and it was also tiny. It was half the size of a salad you'd order anywhere else. read more

This place is a hidden gem in Georgetown. Sure, it's not quite reflective of the high-end shops and restaurants in the area, but if you're looking for something cheap and delicious (and in Georgetown you're often sacrificing taste to eat somewhere very pricey), go with Muncheez. Their middle-eastern inspired menu, complete with fries and a crepe selection, is eclectic but totally fits for when you, well, have the muncheez and need a snack on the go. Side note: try the mint lemonade! It may look strange but I would be shocked if you didn't love it. I'm not a fan of most lemonades (always too sweet!) but this one is perfectly tart and the mint cuts the sweetness very well. I've also had crepes and their sandwiches- all delicious! read more

LOVE LOVE LOVE the hummus. It's definitely more than enough and can share with 3-4 people as appetizer. Really I liked everything that my friends and I ordered. We got fries, chicken shawarma, hummus and Nutella crepes. Also my friends said they just finished their renovations. However the space is pretty small. Sometime might have to grab it and go. All over though, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! read more

The first thing I noticed when I stepped inside today was the urine smell, which only got stronger in the dining and drink area. Not one of the 174 reviews mentions this. Are y'all noseblind? Raunchy smell aside, the place is cool with fun decor and crepemaking on display. My brisket cheesesteak was delicious, but my dining companion's chicken shawarma was dry and bland. Maybe we caught them on an off day, but I don't think my nose can handle a trip back anytime soon to find out. read more

Small place open late, and I certainly know why: their chicken Shwarma was wonderful. It was seasoned perfectly and thankfully was not dried out. It also contains a side of French fries INSIDE the Shwarma. I only wish I would have asked for extra sauce because it too was great! If you happen to be out later than 11PM [in the general area], stop by. Only because it is small and packed with people, it does not mean it is your typical last minute last resort bar-food type greasy spoon. Home made lamb and beef dishes when you order, vegetarian options and they even have REAL fresh watermelon juice! Best part is it's all decently priced. read more

Went here for a snack in the afternoon since my friend recommended. First off, the space looked really cute and my friend who has been here before it said their renovation/redecoration looked really good. However, their space is small, so I could definitely see it being filled up really quickly. As someone who mainly adheres to a plant-based diet, I appreciated that vegan options were clearly labeled. My friends and I shared a chicken shawarma wrap with the curly fries and hummus on the side. Those curly fries were the BEST ones I've ever had. And the hummus was more than enough for the pita they give you. We also had the Nutella crepe and loved how there was Nutella in every bite. Overall, I'd definitely be back if I'm in the area! read more

I got delivery, they said it would take 90-150 minutes and it did, indeed, take 90 minutes, which is totally fine since I was warned. I got the chicken shawarmania and zaatar wrap. The shawarmania was good. I wouldn't say amazing, but it was worth the money. The fries that came with it were pretty good too. Zaatar wrap was extremely tasty. Better than my mom's. Don't tell her. read more

I ordered the chicken shawarma and there was absolutely no flavor. The chicken was unseasoned and the fries had no taste either. There are plenty of other places in the dc area to get chicken shawarma that doesn't taste like cardboard. Very Disappointed read more

The most authentic Shawrama in DC! Cheap, perfect in size(I normally get 2) and the owner is so nice! The shawrama itself is very nicely mixed and it is very easy to chew not too hard not too soft. I am not a sauce person, so I just eat it plain and it is still very delicious read more

Muncheez - Chicken Shawrama - Lebanese Near Me - Washington, DC, District of Columbia

I tried the Nana's original (6.35), shawarma chicken ($8), and beef shawarma ($8) this week, and liked it in that order. Nana was the most flavorful because of the labneh, olives, thyme, olive oil and their use of perfectly fire-burned thin flat bread. The chicken shawarma needed sriracha for flavor like others mentioned. The beef is good if you like tahini. I learned I no longer enjoy tahini because it is too overpowering. The interior is cheerier than Pita Spot, and the people behind the counter are fast and efficient. Lots of bright colors and you are greeted by an array of colorful fresh juices upon entering. Usually busy with people getting carry out, ordering crepes at their outer window, and dining in one of the booth spot or mini tables towards back of the room. Even though the place is small and cramped, I had a great time enjoying delicious food with good service. read more

Usually when it comes to a hole in the wall, I'm willing to forgive lacking decor or a strange smell for the sake of delicious and cheap food. However my beef shawarma wrap did not pass this test. The pita was dry, the beef was overcooked, and each bite just left me longing for a glass of water or milk. The soggy tomato that had been soaking in shawarma oils offered no respite and I found myself eating only to satiate my hunger rather than to actually enjoy the food. I will give them props for their labneh (yogurt cheese with olive oil). Similar to full fat greek yogurt, the labneh was very creamy and well-complemented by the flavorful olive oil. This alone was the only part of the meal I enjoyed, and the only component I would recommend ordering from this place. read more

I didn't know what I was in for. The chicken shawarma sandwich changed my life forever. Highly recommend.

Authentic Mana'eesh! This is what a fast food restaurant would look like in the Middle East. Great Shawerma, falafel, mana'eesh, and crepes, overcrowded, friendly old man, dirty bathrooms. The one star off is for the restroom: needs some cleaning. Please clean it! read more

Cheese steak wrap I had was bomb! I would definitely hit this spot again if I'm craving steak and cheese near the waterfront!

Came with a Groupon in hand on a Tuesday night after a movie. The cashier said that it's only good before 3pm but no where on the Groupon said that. That annoyed me. But that's not the reason I give this place 4 stars. I got a Nutella crepe with fruits and that was pretty good. Fruit in every bite, liberal amount of Nutella, and powder sugar on top, can't got wrong. The store itself is a little cramp though. My group had 5 people and we sat in the back with a skinny table. The table was about 12 inches wide, barely wide enough for me to place the box my crepe in on. I was sitting face to face with my friend and we had to figure out how to place both of our food on the table to eat at the same time, a little awkward. The place itself isn't super tidy, there were crumbs still on the table. The service was alright, ordered and that's about as much interaction we had with them. I will be coming back, especially with the Groupon that apparently not valid after 3pm. read more

Maybe I just didn't get the right thing. It seems like everyone is raving about their crepes, but I was seriously hating on their beef shawarma. Maybe it was the meat or just the weird flavors that they put into the wrap, or the wrap itself, but something was majorly off and not tasty about this wrap. Friend also thoroughly did not enjoy their tabboleh and we both agreed their fries were nothing to rave about. He kind of liked the falafel... which was the only redeeming thing about this food... Think they might want to just make crepes and stop making other things... just an idea. Might try the crepe next time if I were to ever come back. Also the place is really small and they are still doing construction..? doing a bit too much perhaps. read more

The falafel and the wrap were all together pretty tasty. Best thing about this place is the hours of course :)

I only give Muncheez four stars because it is a little over priced for lunch. The sandwiches are a little small so sometimes I'm left hungry and get a second one, which makes it much more expensive than other lunch options in Georgetown. That being said, I LOVE the falafel wrap, mint lemonade, and kinder crepe. I'm an avid meat-eater but the falafel wrap always seems to hit the spot. The service is typically slow, but I have figured out which times to go, or ordered ahead of time so I don't have to wait forever. The owner is probably one of the nicest people I've ever encountered in a fast-casual restaurant, offering me a free falafel or spinach pie thing while I'm waiting for my food. I would definitely recommend it, especially if you love good falafel and lemonade! read more
