Everything was absolutely delicious and I was overjoyed that it was buffet yet only $15. I ate until I was extremely full and all of the flavors were incredible. I think only "complaint" is that much of the foods and sauces weren't labeled so im not sure the names of most of the dishes. That said, I'll eat everything a million times over and recommend it to anyone that wants to try a variety of foods.

Chicken Shahi Korma, Garlic Naan Bread

I ordered this from UberEats for lunch since it had free delivery (with nearby order). I love Indian food and how rich the flavors of the spices usually are. This place was a bit disappointing in that area. The chicken korma was pretty bland compared to what I've had in the past, and it mostly just tasted like pepper. However, the chicken was extremely tender compared to what I tend to get from Indian restaurants, which was a big plus. The garlic naan was not what I was expecting--it's very pretty but also lacks the flavor and texture I was looking for. I am used to buttery, garlicy, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. All I got was the soft part (which might be what other people like, just not my preference). One thing that was very good was the packaging--the dishes were stored in styrofoam containers and wrapped with an extra layer of Saran Wrap to keep it secure. Everything was then placed in a large paper bag that was stapled shut. I also appreciated that they filled up the cups all the way to the top. This, coupled with the tender chicken, is what bumped this rating up from 3 to 4 stars. Maybe I will give this place another try with a different dish and see if it was just the chicken korma that wasn't to my liking, but for now, I stand by my rating.

My husband has been been craving Indian food. Craving in a must-get-some-soon-or-life-might-end kind of way. I didn't want to drive to Richardson (egads...a whole 15 minutes south from Plano!) to our old standby, Kebab and Kurry, so we tried out a new-to-us place that I'd heard good things about, Mumtaz Indian Restaurant. They have a good-sized buffet table with a good selection of dishes, from sweet to spicy, vegetarian to traditional meats (goat and/or lamb Everything was super fresh and flavorful. We've gone three times now and have been impressed with the variety each time we've been. What's even better is that they offer a buffet at lunch and dinner, weekday and weekend. Tuesdays offer a lower price-point, making it a great day to get your spice on. Looks like we don't have to make that drive to Richardson anytime soon...!

Great place for people who love the taste of Indian food but can't handle super spicy food either. They definitely tone down the spice a bit. Love the buffet option during lunch, never super busy and never had a wait. They have all the go tos like chicken tikka masala and "safe" foods for people trying Indian for the first time. Must try the gulab jamun for dessert.

This was some yummy desert

The ambiance itself is beautiful. The restaurant was not very busy, which was actually pretty surprising for a spot that I thought would be a hot spot. We were promptly seated, but the service was a little slow this evening. We did let our waitress know about that. She mentioned that she got caught up at a couple of tables. We started with some cocktails, and they were quite tasty. The presentation definitely has some hype, including the usual smoking and unvailing the smoked drink at the table. All the food was delicious except for the veggie kebabs. They tasted a little doughy and uncooked on the inside. We actually ended up sending them back, and they were really nice about the whole situation. I did think a restaurant like this could have gone over the top to make that situation better, and they did not. Which is fine. We also got the chicken appetizer as well as the paneer tikka. Those appetizers were unpointed delicious. The paneer was a little softer than I was expecting, but the flavor was delicious. For entrees, we got one of the chicken curries as well as one of the mutton curry-type dishes. And we also got some naan. All the food was delicious and super flavorful. It was my partner's birthday, and they brought out a nice little surprise chocolate cake for her. Less as well. That was also super tasty. Our bill for the two of us came out to about $400, which we have no problem paying, and I hate being one of those people complaining about fine dining prices. I do think for that price point, the service could be a little better, and they could take extra special care of their guests. Again, I do hope more of these Indian fine dining establishments make it to the DFW area!

The restaurant itself is casual, but the interior is really cute and inviting, with happy music playing in the background that adds to the upbeat atmosphere. This is a walk-up-and-order type of restaurant, and they bring your food out to you when it's ready. I found the service to be exceptionally friendly, informative, and still very professional. When I ordered the tandoori chicken, they let me know it would take about 15-20 minutes. Honestly, I had no problem waiting--I'd much rather wait a little longer and have my food freshly cooked! The tandoori chicken comes with mint chutney and sliced onions, along with half a chicken. I also ordered an additional side of their cilantro chutney, and let me tell you... so, so good! The chicken was incredibly moist, packed with flavor, and cooked beautifully. I was also happy that the heat level was very low. You get all that wonderful flavor without the heat overpowering the dish. At only $12.99, the portion, quality, and flavor make this dish an excellent value. This was my first visit, but based on the food and the menu, it definitely won't be my last. Next time I'm in the area, I'll be trying a different dish because their menu has quite a few things that caught my eye. If you're looking for flavorful Indian food in a casual, welcoming setting, O'Desi Aroma is definitely worth checking out!
