The chicken tikka kebabs were tender and perfectly cooked with an amazing flavor, the eggplant curry was just heaven, and the tamarind sauce is the best I've ever had- and of course the garlic naan was amazing! As someone suggested, everything felt no nonsense. The biggest standout was the fresh naan they bought to the table, but that was it. The buffet itself didn't do much for me. Everything felt watered down and lukewarm. It wasn't the worst I've ever had, but it was far from great. I didn't get a ton of flavor in anything and felt like a lot of the items tasted the same. Where's the Saag Paneer or the Aloo Gobi? I felt like there were two kinds of rice, tofu stir fry (the only thing that felt like it had substance to me) and several soupy items.

The next standouts were the Garlic naan and Calcutta chicken. Let's be real though, it's really hard to mess up garlic naan. But the chicken was sizzling away. The Hakka noodles were fine and mixed well with the sauce from the Calcutta chicken. The lollipop chicken was okay but not something I'd order again. A couple things for next time- I chickened out on ordering the normal spiciness and asked for them to be 1 level less spicy as I assumed the normal spice was spicy. I'd do the spice it comes with cuz the dishes weren't spicy at all although they were still flavorful. I don't love that water is bottled water here but otherwise the food came out pretty quickly and we were able to sit and chat without feeling bothered or rushed. Without having to refill waters, they check on you a bit less which is fine with me. Cozy restaurant with enough seating and space.

Had everything from samosas, Naan, chicken vindaloo, tandoori shrimp masala and aloo gobi. Everything was absolutely delicious with generous portions. Nice to see a small family operation turning out such wonderful cuisine. The sauces showed years of knowledge and hours of preparation. I am not any sort of expert on indian food, but much of what I've had depends on heat for flavor. This had so much flavor with just the right amount of spice to get you reaching for tissues for your runny nose as you grab for another helping of food. As usual, you can get an added level of pain if you want which was right up my alley. Encourage you to consider this establishment if you are in the area or willing to make a short trip that will take your taste buds to another land.

Then we saw this place took its spot, we had high hopes thinking it was going to be filling the shoes as its predecessor. This is not the case. We ordered the buttered chicken and chicken tikka masala. The CTM was a little oily and the rice was subpar. The Buttered chicken was okay at best, a little over salted. For the price of two entrees and an appetizer the portions were surprisingly small. $50 for all. I was not greeted when i walked in, the lady at the counter was on the phone the whole time and a little put off, the ambiance itself was questionable, nothing changed interior wise except a cart looking thing and the yellow paint, maybe two tables were busy. Guess the search continues for great tasting Indian cuisine. I wish the old place would come back they were great and very friendly.
