BEST FOOD EVER! I have a lot of favorite Indian restaurants, but this one really knocked it out of the park! The chicken tikka kebabs were tender and perfectly cooked with an amazing flavor, the eggplant curry was just heaven, and the tamarind sauce is the best I've ever had- and of course the garlic naan was amazing! I ordered for take out and the server was very friendly. The interior was nice and bright and they even have tables outside with umbrellas. I'm so excited that this place is so close! We dined in here last week, you place the order, pick your glass of water, silverware and plates and wait for the food. We got veg jalfrezi and garlic naan and it was served hot and tasted delicious! The best garlic naan I have had in a while! We also tried gajar ka halwa which did not work for me (tasted coconut in it). Maybe next time I would try a different dessert in this place. Good service! My husband and I have recently tried (twice) and absolutely love and would love to share our experience (both ordering takeout). If you are a fan of Indian food, you definitely have to try Bombay Street Cafe. All their foods and sauces are scratch made. Their tandoori chicken is our #1 tandoori chicken after 2 big orders. Chicken biryani is fantastic, and their mint chutney are our new favorites. We are huge fans of Indian food and go at least once a week to an Indian restaurant in our area. We wanted to check out the new restaurant and are not disappointed. In fact, we think their prices are reasonable and will be back frequently. So good. Goat chetinad (I am sure I am spelling it wrong!) is delicious and not only bones as it can sometimes be at other places. Lentil soup etc.... It's all good. Tried Bombay Street Cafe in the middle of the afternoon recently, when our usual "go to" Indian place was closed between lunch and dinner services. The store is not fancy, but we were very pleasantly surprised by the wonderful quality of the dishes we ordered - everything seemed fresh, it was ready very quickly, and it was delicious. We would definitely return when we want quick-takeout in the middle of the day. Items we tried, all ordered "Medium" spicy: - Samosas = the pastry was light and flaky, and perfectly fried in fresh oil at just the right temperature so they were not greasy. Cilantro chutney was especially tasty. - Malai Kofta = veg cheese balls were a perfect, soft texture and perfectly fried, and the creamy curry sauce was very nicely spiced. - Saag Aloo = this curry dish was a prepared a bit drier than we usually prefer, but the flavors were lovely. We would have liked it better if it were a bit more "liquidy." - Garlic Butter Naan = tasted freshly grilled, great texture and taste. read more

As I was sitting waiting on my food I saw a bunch of dismal reviews. I got worried, so, I decided to pay extra attention to all aspects of this meal. I tried to document it all. I am a white girl who can handle moderate spice married to a white guy who tolerates none. This was a medium spice butter and zero spice biryani, to test, for him for future dinners. I appreciated the fact they left out all spice, thus it affected the overall taste for me. He would be pleased tho. Certainly not an Indian food expert. Started of with the lentil soup, definitely not what I was expecting as it's blended and very thin but wholly flavorful and a touch spicy, it comes with a veggie cream sauce. Super delicious!! I absolutely loved the soup! Butter chicken a okay, made with white meat chicken, I'd definitely prefer dark or I'll go with Paneer. It was fine. Not award winning but average butter chicken. And please don't take average as bad, it was good! Spiced as I asked. Medium. We enjoyed the cream cheese stuffed naan for a change of pace, didn't really get much garlic or butter. Chicken Biryani was okay, I didn't think it had much flavor, I used some sauce and I liked it better. Not bad but a bit bland. But also had zero spice, please remember that. I loved the hot Masala tea, on a chilly winter day. They serve it unsweetened so I added some sweetener and it was yummy. I found it to be an average/good experience with the soup, tea & naan, very good. The quality was good and everything was fresh. Certainly not a one star meal. I think some of those reviews were skewed in some way or just plain nasty. They were very nice and helpful. I would return. I had a horrible overly spicy experience at Desi Aroma, zero customer service. I would not return there, ever. read more

Took about 15 min to get my food which isn't bad at all. Everything I got was AMAZING and I will definitely be back to try other items on the menu!! My co-worker and I met up here for dinner this week simply because it was a convenient location and we both like Indian food. We were both pleasantly surprised when we walked in. The place was super clean, the smells coming out of the kitchen were wonderful and everything looked new. The girl working the register was really sweet and helpful and the Tikki Masala was super flavorful with large portions and the garlic Naan was everything I hoped it would be. The friendly owner came and talked to us for a bit and we found out this is a family run business and it's only been open a few months. If you like to support family businesses and love Indian food, this place should be at the top of your list! I don't get to McKinney very often, but I'll remember this restaurant for sure. read more

I'm tired of all the chain restaurants in this area and I'm glad to see family restaurants coming to the area. You cannot make this stuff up. They call them "Bombay" street food. Ignoring their blatant (albeit failed attempt at promoting colonization), this food is no where near Mumbai's street food or anywhere near north Indian food or Indian food for that matter. To garnish it, they have horrible customer service. It is ok if you can't speak English. At least answer the question in 4 other languages that the customer can fluently speak in. My girlfriend wanted butter chicken but we were unsatisfied with the other Indian place by our home, so this was the next closest option. I ordered butter chicken myself with tomato soup and garlic naan. I haven't tried many places but this is the best Indian food I have ever had so far! Tomato soup was exactly what I was craving and at a good price, the butter chicken was beautiful presented with garnish and other visible delicious spices, the garlic naan! Best I've ever had, it was bubbly and crispy I have never had it like that before. Portions were great for the price, I took the left overs home and after eating it I still have more to eat. I think me being a white guy I looked out of place and the owner asked what brought me to the location, I explained, he said thankyou to my girlfriend for suggesting the place and I felt very welcomed! This place touts the Bombay Street food scenario. The Samosa Chaat I tried was really good, the spice level was perfect. However, I had the best item I had was the Goat Rogan Josh. We stopped in to check it out. Not fancy, but dining area was clean and tidy. We don't really know our Indian cuisine well at all, but know a little. We ordered chicken tikka masala, lamb biryani, and butter naan bread, for two. We requested it a little extra spicy. The Chicken tikka chicken was a little a bit dry, but sauce was very flavorful. Loved that with the naan. Spice level was right on for what we asked. The lamb biryani was also delicious, spicy, and flavorful, but watch out for the whole spice seeds mixed in. Lamb was plentiful and tender. Overall we really enjoyed the food, maybe a tad salty. Also had enough leftovers for some next day noshing. The ambiance and plasticware were not so great , but the food and service was very good. We will be going back to explore the menu some more!
