Well done. Love the sambar and the dosa here. Reminds me of India Palace in Dallas back in the 80s, but way better. Garlic naan spot on.

We had another great meal at Panj Tara!…read more This time we had gone for their Weekend buffet lunch and since we reached just as they started serving we had the entire area almost to ourselves and the whole dining area was quiet, spic and span. Started off with loading up a plateful of small portions of the different vegetarian options and almost all of them were prepared well. Best liked dishes were the Paneer Tikka Masala and the Kadhi with those lovely Pakodas. The Tandoori Rotis served were hot, hot, light and fluffy and were very tasty while also complementing the main dishes completely. The Peas Pulao were a let down and it was not made fresh but the Plain Basmati Rice was wonderfully fresh and prepared well. I personally did not like the Tandoori Chicken as the pieces seemed have been made earlier and only re-heated and served, The Shrimp Curry was so so and the seafood seemed to have been slightly over cooked. The Chicken Do Pyaza was quite flavorful and the meat had been cooked to perfection - soft, succulent, fall-off the Bone and well marinated into the Do Pyaaza stew. I did also like the fresh sliced onions with the Punjabi house-made Achaar served as an accompaniment, which was wonderful! Finally we also tried the different desserts - the Sheera was ok but we loved the Jalebi and Fruit Custard. All in all a good value for money! We will come back for another round soon!

I'm not a fan of bad reviews and I've read all the bad ones on this place. I wanted to see if their…read moreimpression was any different than mine. First the music was so damn loud I couldn't even hear my grandson three feet across the table from me. Get a clue people, part of a good dining experience is enjoying the company of the people you are with and my God we had to shout to be heard. My granddaughter wanted Indian and since it is her birthday month the birthday girl gets to choose. My grandson actually found the place. I was a little leery of the 3.5 stars, I usually aim a bit higher. There didn't seem to be any choices on some of the foods regarding the level of spice. All my granddaughters order MILD but it was so hot and spice they couldn't eat it. No descriptions on the menu, so it makes it hard for people who watch what we each to know how something is cooked and the waitress didn't offer much info. I eat carnivore so I chose the lamb chops, I mean what can go wrong there? Well each chop had some kind of thick mushy coating that was so blasted damn spicy I could barely eat it. There didn't seem to be any knives so I just ended up picking up the lamb chop but all the gunky mushy coating on the meat got all over my hands, under my nails, it was a mess. It was so hot and spicy I just started to scrape whatever it was on the lambchops off so I could at least taste the meat. I don't mind a little spice but when it is so strong that you can't even taste the food why even eat? My oldest granddaughter took her two sisters food home because it was so spicy they couldn't handle it. I'm pretty sure my son in law had to stop at a drive through to get them something they actually could eat. I've eaten at a number of Indian restaurants and enjoyed them very much but this place, not so much.

I usually avoid writing negative reviews unless the experience is genuinely disappointing, as I…read morestrongly believe in supporting small business owners. We visited Yum of India for lunch today. The ambiance is very nice--new, clean, charming, and thoughtfully decorated. It's clear that the owner has invested significant time and money into building the place. Unfortunately, the food did not meet expectations. We ordered the paneer biryani, and it was extremely salty and largely tasteless. When we informed the front desk staff, there was no response or effort to address the concern--no offer to replace the dish, remake it, or provide any alternative. The reaction felt more like "eat it or leave." After paying $15, we left still hungry and had to drive to another restaurant to eat. Even at the time of payment, when we mentioned we were going elsewhere for food, the front desk staff simply smiled and showed no empathy or concern. While the restaurant looks great, food quality and customer service are critical. Unfortunately, both were lacking during our visit. I hope the owner focuses more on consistency in food quality and customer experience, as the potential is clearly there. Based on our experience, I would not recommend this place at this time, as it was not worth the drive or the time.

This is what I had: Samosa: 3/5 stuffed with potato and peas could have had more flavor Roti: 3/5 buttery taste and firm in foundation, softer is warmed up a bit Apollo Fish: 4/5 Crispy, juicy, bursting with flavors from the sauce added to it. The flavor profile is savory, not really spicy or sweet. More one note in favor layers. I do wish it had more layers of flavor. Peneer Biryani: 5/5 the basmati rice was cooked to order. Very fresh and hot. The flavors are layered from savory to spicy. The paneer was firm and seemed to be fried on the outside. it was quite a bit of the paneer pieces throughout the dish. I do look forward to trying a few more dishes. Service was good as well.

Heard there was a new food truck at the Nest in Melissa and it was Indian so of course I had to go…read moretry it out. I went on a Friday afternoon before normal school pick up. I was obviously the only customer there which was nice. The lady at the food truck was initially very friendly; I found out about the food truck on the Melissa FB page and was given a number to text and a menu. I was hoping when I got there there would be some sort of pictures corresponding with the food or at least someone who could explain what they were; but there wasn't. Her English was not that great and of course I do not speak hers so it was very difficult trying to get some of the items explained. I had planned of ordering almost everything but I wasn't sure about some of the items because I wasn't familiar with what it was. I asked her to pick out two different appetizers and a Dilkush Chicken Dum Biryani bowl. I knew what the biryani was; also some samosas. She ended up ordering me the two I requested and for the appetizer she just ordered be two of the same, later I found out it was the chicken pakoda. I had mentioned about having pictures or at least a description of some of the food items. I do eat Indian food a lot but I don't know the traditional names of things. Later when making this review I was adding the business and saw the website on the truck and there is a very nice website of the food they offer; it doesn't have descriptions but the pictures explain a lot. Also I went back to see if they had a FB website to add and they didn't; but the person who initially made the post had added a picture menu instead of just writing it. So kudos there. That definitely will help out in the future. Back to the food; I also got a tea which was delicious. It didn't take incredibly too long for my food to come out but it did take a minute. Also it came out separately rather than all at once; and on top of that they forgot my samosas; thankfully I always check my orders. I ended up having to leave to go get my kid from school. So for the real review the food. Everything was very tasty. The biryani bowl was spicy which I love; very hefty portion size. The chicken appetizers were tasty as well; samosas were amazing. All sauces were good as well. No complaints on the food end. I gave four stars only because of my customer service experience there. I thought about giving 3 but the food was really good and try hard to just give reviews based on the food. So a four I felt was fair. I'm glad they added pictures to the FB post. I really feel they should start out with "look at our menu on our website" that would've been really helpful. Because there isn't one on their truck; and definitely have someone there that can explain the items. All in all great food truck just wasn't my favorite food truck experience. Still will give them another try.
